      I had one dark grey with white top and cream white interior. It was really nice before a hit and run incident. Of course the cops couldn’t find anyone. I miss that car.

    The regency brougham 98 was the cat,s meow, at a time when bimmers and benzes and hondas started taking center stage, there was 98 regency brougham a car buoilt from a long standing heritage, but taken to such a high level, it,s a car you,ll proud to look at and a car that,s it,s own kind, luxurious,nimble and responsive, un heard of in other cars, but not in that one.

    Oldsmobile 98 from 1972-84 regency -regency brougham these cars were the embodiment of luxury that ushered in a whole new beginning for how a car feels and even how a car handles and performs, the mix was simple: take a big sedan with a well designed and well tuned chassis, combine that with a roomy and comfortable interior add plush seats and what you have is a timeless classic, between the years of 1972-76 big conservative luxury, 1977-84 contemporary luxury, no matter oldsmobile 98 was more than a mere luxury sedan, it was lifestyle.

    Beautiful car, I, had a BUICK RIVIERA of the same year fully equipped. Moon-roof, t-type rims.Buick tried to sell me a V-6 TURBO. I chose the 307 , 4bbl. It was a V-8 in name ONLY. SLOOOOOW. But, it sure saved on fuel compared to the BUICK ELECTRA'S 455CID 4bbl, I used as a trade in.@least it had a 4sp overdrive auto. Quality was going south for GOVERNMENT MOTORS in that era. It affected all the divisions.

    Paul Arthur, this is a Regency Brougham, the standard Ninety Eight had the "Loose Pillow" seats, the Brougham had velvety soft velour, and the pillow seats were more of a cloth.🚀

      Brian Farber my 98 regency brougham ’83 had leather seats. I loved that car and it took me all around the US in ’92-’94. It had 57K miles when I bought it. It wasn’t the best car in snow storms, though

      GM's premium velour upholstery option was called Primo Velour I believe. It made its way into most of the brands. I had friends with a 1983 Monte Carlo and a 1984 Regal with it. It was awesome.

    • @AlexanderCrump
      @AlexanderCrump 5 років тому +1

      Agreed. By today's standards they were dogs, but the ample low-end torque was suited to leisurely in-town driving. Freeway merges could be white knuckle.

      True but this 98 with a 307 was far superior to the junk Cadillac had under the hood in 1983.
