I know this video is six years old but do you by chance know what brand string you used for this? I bought 2mm black cotton cord to make pony bead things with my toddler niece but oh my gosh the fraying at the ends is ridiculous 🤣 I need to buy better string for this
@@Juwlz sgetti strings made by Pepperell braiding company, it's a round plastic lace and works great, you can find it a hobby lobby. I still see your comments and still create bead tutorials as well. Hope this helps
@@TurboBeads thank you so much!! I had purchased 2mm black cotton cord, I have used it before but ran out and the new stuff I bought is maddening, it frays at the ends at every pass. My four year old niece is obsessed with making the pony bead gecko's, she's also obsessed with that Nyan cat from a decade ago lol the cartoon cat with like a poptart body and a rainbow 😂 and she wants to make a Nyan cat out of pony beads and I'm at a total loss for how to go about making that 😂 I tested out this hello kitty tonight and it came out cute, im thinking I could slightly alter it to try to make it look like a Nyan cat lmao but omg if you ever decide to do a Nyan cat pony bead tutorial my niece and every other little kid with a love for Nyan cat and Roblox(I think that's how she found it, on Roblox lol) would be so happy 😂

Lynn remember you can always use custom colors as well! Hello kitty pattern turns out great everytime.

Do u have to leave the toothpick in? I am making these for T-K'ers(5yrs olds) and I don't think they would leave the toothpicks in. Is it ok not to use them?
Sara Sopko you can remove them but i dont know how straight the rows will stay. Feel free to try that out im sure it will be fine to remove them afterwards

Do you use the toothpick to straighten the rows?
Antonia Cordova yes, that way the string doesnt bow up. it straightens the rows, keeps everything tighter as well.
Justin Bennett so after you're done with making it do you leave the toothpick in the rows or take it out when you finish?
Antonia Cordova leave them inside the project, it will last longer.

Antonia Cordova I use a string called S'getti strings it's a round plastic lace, and works great, comes on a spool for only $1.99 you can find at hobby lobby and other craft stores, its a quality product and cheap in price. it should last you a long time, hope this helps and thank you for the support!
