    Hola Cubano!! First of all, congratulations on finishing your Camino; and thank you for taking us along. You did an outstanding work of videography and video editing. I've enjoyed every upload...it made me remember my own Camino back in 2015 and make me eager to do it again. Drone shots are all amazing and you made the best Camino series I have ever watched. Soon I'm going to watch them all again...from the packing list to Fisterra. I will miss your videos!!!! Thank you and saludos desde Brasil!!

      I retired March 22, 2019 and began my Camino April 1, 2019. It was the best thing I could have ever done. So cleansing! I put and end to one life and began another. Hope you experience the same.

    Ok, I have to admit, I binge-watch it. Firstly, it reminded me of my own Camino 8 years ago (but I only did half, from Burgos to Finistierra). Your video from 2017, it seems like it has become more commercialized. (Esp after the american movie, the way). I wanted to do the first part this summer but I injured my knee. So when I saw this I had to watch the whole thing. The drone added so much to the trip. Thanks for doing this. Lastly, I cried on many parts of your video, the day when you arrived in Santiago de Compostela (it touched my heart), secondly the thought that I may not get to do the first ever part bec my knee is still fragile (my injury was last feb), but the end part when you burned your socks, I kinda laughed bec I threw my James Dean shirt (James is Santiago), (it smelled horribly after all I wore it for 15 days). I wanted to burn it but I didnt have a match so I just threw it away. Lots of takeaway from your trip.(never knew about the cana, now I know). Muchas gracias por todo. Maybe next year, I will finally do the first part. Good luck on your next adventure

    I watched several stages of your journey from SJPP to Santiago and all the way to Finesterra. Then recently your Portugues coastal with Google maps in them. By far you are THE best presentor and story teller that grabs peoples interest, your wit, accurate and sense of humor at times made your walk looks easy to the audience but turns out to be an epic journey. Keep doing what you do best. People like me, learns a lot and pick up loads of info, even though that was done pre-covid but still very relevant. Just done the CF, will be doing the Portugues in April 2023. But after watching your Finesterre, inspire me to do that too.

    Thank you Efren! Thank you, thank you! In 2016-2017, over three stages, my wife and I walked from Munich in Germany to Muxia (no, no taxis, no busses, no tourist, though we saw many LOL). Your videos brought back so many wonderful memories and will help us to make sense of our 24,000 photographs. Your trip was amazing and we thank you for sharing it with us. On a side note, I kept telling my wife from our first day until our last, just how wonderful it would be to have a drone! Maybe next time!

    Hi Efren, after I had finished the CP I decided to walk to Finisterra the next day. During day 1 I met a trail angel when I was at my lowest. We decided to walk together until the end of the world. We rocked. We even made a 43 K day (like your Melide day) so we could stay in in the beautiful city of Cee. The next day we held a short ceremony for my parents by scattering their ashes in the see near Finisterra. My trail angel held a short ceremony for her beloved mother during the sunset at Cap Finisterra. Camino provides! The next day my trail angel continued to Muxia and I went back to Santiago by bus as I had to fly back to Madrid. Later I heard she met my fellow pilgrim Miracle Walker from the US (her life story is amazing!) with whom I finished the CP at Santiago. What a small world! As we are infected by the Camino virus now we have to get back on the Camino, hopefully next year, but for sure in 2023. Your videos will not only help us to prepare but they will also tell us that we will manage one way or the other. Thanks for that and Buen Camino!

We are in our 60's and wish we had your youth and strength especially with all the equipment you carried! it worked very well. i don't have that budget for cards and i couldn't wait. i'm thinking of using iCloud to take my files off the iphone and macbook daily clearing the recording devices. DSLRs are now out but that does not mean I'll buy a Sony A7..... I like small cameras flic.kr/p/fybgWV you have also a good eye for a pic. I am a natural loner like you and that is the Camino but I'll mix and interact more even though I don't speak another language.
      repeat: how did you do the walking shots?

    • @Joyseeker

      I expect a slow wiFi but I also expects iCloud to do it's stuff automatically when asleep.... a good test for this Apple fan with an iPhone and Mac Book ...... we'll see!

      I will say it as again wifi is horrible lol. As for the 5d is a personal preference. People thought I was crazy for carrying a drone. As for regrets I would have taken an extra couple of shirts so i did not have to wash every day.

    Great job on the videos. When I make it to the Camino I would love to take a camera. What was your experience with that and worrying about theft? Also, were most people okay with the camera and drone or were those things you had to be extra conscientious and discreet about?

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  6 років тому

      I was discreet with the drone but not with the camera. I carried my gear every where I went. I would not leave it unattended.

    Fisterra is really cool to go to, and worth the walk, but you don't have to burn clothes or boots there. That's a bit of a BS thing made up fairly recently. In fact some pilgrims started a small forest fire doing that a couple of years ago. So yeah, take a dip in the Atlantic, watch the sunset and enjoy the seafood and beer, but don't fill the air with the toxic fumes of burning synthetics.

    How cold does it get in the sleeping areas at night?

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  7 років тому

      Charles it depends on the tiime of the year. Most albergues don't have AC or heater so the temperature reflects what's outside. In some we would open the windows. In some it was cold while in fisterra it was really hot

    • @charlesmarsh279
      @charlesmarsh279 7 років тому

      SummitXtreme I am hoping to leave mid March and I was wondering what degree sleeping bag to bring. I figured that during March and April that I would not have to be worried about the heat.

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  7 років тому

      March / April should be nice and cold. I took a 40 degree (fahrenheit) sleeping bag and it was just right for my confort.

    I am a little confused. I thought that the Camino was just over 500 miles from where you started. How is it that you walked 1000 miles?

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  7 років тому

      Charles Marsh it's kilometers but I'm used to saying miles. My bad.

    By the way, the end of the world is not in Fisterra, but it is in Portugal at Cabo da Roca, but they did not know it in ancient times :)

      thanks Andric. I brought 550gb worth of sd cards with me. I'm going back in three weeks. this time around I'm bringing a 4tb portable HDD and using filehub to transfer the data. check out a video I did about it last year. you can find it in the gear playlist or in my website.

      @@Walk_with_Efren true dat. If you dont know already look up dixies channel "homemade wanderlust" she vloged all the triple crown trails (with her phone) I guess you have to step down with the gear. I can recomend the g7x though I switched to sony and Im using the rx100. Lighter, longer batteries and good enough quality.

    I wish that you didn't perpetuate the MYTH that pilgrims should burn something in Fisterra. It's disrespectful of the locals, bad for the environment, and illegal!

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  3 роки тому

      This was my first pilgrimage and I was passing on the information I read on my guidebook. I've moved on from burning my clothes to burning my compostela. I burned three on my last camino.
