A blackened Californian coalition between two great solo acts from the region.
Nachzehrer unleashes a brand of black metal that is a departure from their previous demo, breakneck speed. Here, he opts for a more controlled, oppressive atmosphere, a slow-burning intensity rather than furious blasting. Vocals occasionally echo the chilling rasps of Nightwalker from Nihil Invocation, adding another layer of darkness.
Mephisto takes a different path, infusing on his black metal with a touch of melody and atmosphere, often using synths to create a soundscape that leans slightly closer to heavy metal territory. However, make no mistake, this is still firmly rooted in the black metal tradition.
Despite such discernible differences, this record remains a fine blackened presentation for the horned one.
