The markets i think are bad all over even in Fla .We did a balloon fest in sarasota fl . Totally not what i expected there was over 16,000 people at a two day event. We barely made our money back. So I dont know what people are looking for .
Yeah how weird is that?! There are definitely some events where people are just there for the food and entertainment. They will just look at the markets but not buy anything. But then, I know some events have been really successful for some people so I don't know what the trick is 🤷🏼♀️
I’m sorry you have had difficulties with the last couple of events. It’s hard to know which events are going to be worthwhile. Well established events are always a better choice. It’s hard to keep up with trends too. You’ll get there. It does take time. Also, I don’t know if anyone else is having a hard time getting to your Etsy shop through this link, but it leads to nowhere for me. Ends up with an error page. Keep going, it’s fine watching people grow with their business.
Thanks so much for your support! ❤️ Yeah I just find it frustrating that markets are so inconsistent, because I've had some great successes too! Every year I'm learning more and more, but you'd think after 6 years I'd have it figured out 😅
Thank you for letting me know about my Etsy link, I've worked out the problem, just a typo on my end sorry!
@ great I’ll definitely check things out.
I don't know if this will be helpful to you or not, but one possible reason why you didn't do as well as you expected could be because, when you have already done the same market multiple times and you're not in a tourist area, you may be seeing the same customers who have already seen and purchased your things in the past and they are looking for something new.
I love your displays and I think they showcase your work very well, but they might also be making it appear that you have nothing new to offer previous customers. I know it's important to have consistency so people will recognize you and your brand, but is there any way you could add a small, eye-catching display where you could put a sign that says something like, "New for January!" (or whatever,) to let people know you have new things on offer, without them having to look at everything they think they have already seen?
One other suggestion is to make one or two ridiculously detailed and expensive items, and display them very prominently to catch people's attention as they walk past your booth, but I'm not sure you need that as much as you might just need to find some different markets where you will see different attendees.
Your work is lovely and your display is very professional, so I really think the biggest problem you're having is seeing the same audience over and over again, and not getting enough new people to see your things.
Happy New Year and a very successful 2025 to you! I just subscribed to your channel. :)
Happy New year to you as well and thank you so much for all your thoughts! You make such a good point, although these particular markets I hadn't done for a year so I'm not sure if applies to this particular one. But you're so right, and I'm wondering even if it's just because I have the same displays every time...
I'm working on some ideas for larger eye catching pieces because I have heard that elsewhere too that it's a good idea to have something that draws attention even if no one is likely to buy it.
Thanks again for your thoughtful comment and thanks so much for subscribing! So happy to have you here ✨💕
