First Q-LNG 4000 Fueling of Mardi Gras

On June 8th Port Canaveral's offshore bunkering barge, the Q-LNG 4000 (Q4K), made its first delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to North America’s first LNG powered cruise ship, Carnival’s Mardi Gras. The LNG bunkering barge loads its fuel at a distribution facility in Elba Island, Georgia and transits back here to then load LNG equipped cruise ships and smaller vessels with fuel. The Q4K can hold up to 4,000 cubic meters of LNG, which equates to one million gallons of fuel. This bunkering barge alongside our new LNG equipped fireboat, Fireboat 2, are looking forward to soon servicing the next generation of cruise ships loaded with passengers!
