Anyone remember Sunset liquor store in the early 60's? The candy they had! I would go crazy in that store! I loved candy! So much of it and so many different type candies! Adults bought the booze and we kids got the candy!
We walked to Sunset Liquor all the time. We lived on Greenberry Dr. I had a hugh crush on the boy behind the counter. Now, I'm sure he was much older than I was. His name was Damien Economedies. Just guessing the spelling of the last name 😄. Great times back in the day 😊.
I still remember when Nelson elementary school was a field! I used to walk past that field and loved to look at the grooves of the field as we drove by! Can't recall what was planted there! My grandparents lived on California street back then. La Puente was so nice back then! Little did I know that in 5th grade at Nelson school as I was picking up bats a girl name Jane Chesley hit me in the face with a swing and fractured my nose. My mother said my little nose was perfect and the hit made my nose a little less perfect. LOL
Did anyone else go to the Hudson school near P-hill? That was a nice experience! I had Mrs. Kyle and I had a crush on a boy name Ross! (There used to be photos of that school on line) They say it used to be an Indian school way before that.
My grandparents night their first home brand new on le borgne just up the street was the Vineland drive in I found the paperwork for when they bought the house sept 9 1956 they paid 10,900 for it
