I grew up on the East Side of LA in the Jordan Downs Projects. A lot of older cats wore long hair pressed out when i was coming up. It kind of separated the Playaz from the Gangstaz. Hairstyles like the finger wave. Flat ironed & pressed hair with the curls down at the end. Old school cats like that always got the most attention from the ladies too from what I seen growing up. They were hated on the most as well.
