My gran use to run a fruit and veg stall in this market place,
And in 1985 Her Majesty The Queen stood in this market place during a tour of Yarmouth, I was only 5/6 meters away when I saw the tiny lady, I’m privileged to see and remember that day, her majesty will be missed…

Shame they’ve ruined the market! Nothing to really go there for now! Barries tea stall shut so haven’t bothered going! The market was once great ruined by the council

Nothing “Great” about Great Yarmouth anymore.
May as well be called Lithuania Yarmouth, or Portuguese Yarmouth, Romanian Yarmouth, you all starting to get my point?
Yarmouth is an absolute shit hole and one of the worst, dirtiest and heavily foreign places you’ll ever go to.
Walk from the market and head up Kings street and tell me if you hear an English conversation. I’ve done it several times when I’ve had to go to into town and not once heard two locals speaking. It’s always a foreign language. Take a drive to the seafront and most locals will take the ST Peters road way, anyone who knows ST Peters road will know what I’m talking about. If you want a haircut it’s great as there has to be around 15 Turkish barbers down that street but it’s the amount of Turks and Portuguese that stand on the street corners and outside the shops spitting and making a mess.
A few years back my friend and I went into a Turkish cafe down there and was only spoken to in Turkish. That whole area of Yarmouth is worst.
Anyone from the area will know that a night out on Kings Street was amazing back in the 90’s with loads of bars, clubs and restaurants.
You start one end of the town and head to the other in pubs such as Peggotty’s, Divers, 151, Brunswick and Encounters.
Away from King Street you had Quay Leisure, The Gari (Garibaldi), Rosie’s, Bourbon Street and Caesars and Mission. All great places until the influx of foreigners. Then of course they got decimated and eventually closed down. Most of them are now housing projects.
Long standing family businesses that have occupied stalls on the market for 50+ years have all gone. It’s a real shame but the town has been lost to the woke councils that benefit from tax payers money who bring these foreigners in and allow them to treat it like their own shit hole countries.
