- This week we take a Buhay Isla Expedition (Like the Tao Expeditions, but not with Tao company ;) from Coron to El Nido! Visiting Linapacan, virgin islands, caves and amazing reefs. All on Palawan, Philippines.

There are multiple companies offering expeditions between Coron and El Nino.
I read good stories about Buhay Isla. So let’s put our faith in their hands.
They promise the unexpected on places where not many tourists go.
You know I like that!
Say hi to our new home, protect what needs to be protected, and we’re good to go!
We start by exploring the beautiful surroundings of Coron for one last time.
Just follow the little path between the limestone cliffs. And there she is! Barracuda lake.
Two years ago we had one of the weirdest dives in here. But this time, we’ll enjoy the water in a different way!
And then it’s really time to hit open water. Now bring me that horizon!
Living on the sea for a few days, really means living in a small community. And you might never expect a boat is so much more than just your transport from A to B. It’s your livingroom. Your playground. The kitchen and the laundry room. It’s a doorstep to the freshest fish you’ll taste in your life. And no worries. She’s your bathroom too!
It’s amazing what food comes out of the kitchen. And after a day of sailing we arrive at the last room…
Well the breakfast here is sure something we would all appreciate.
So bye bye beach, and hello new adventures.
The first place we’re visiting today is a dark world, only a little hike into the forest.
It’s amazing too find places like this, only with your little group of people there.
And if you’re wondering about the under water world - there are some amazing things you can find out here!
Yes! Next week we’re up for the last days of expedition. Including the highlights of El Nido, without any other tourist.

Oh my... I'm excited. I remember El Nido from 10 years ago, when we could have the big and small lagoons all to ourselves. Like we could die there and no one would know.
Oh yes! I heard more stories like this! It sounds amazing, and it's kind of scary how fast tourism goes to be honest.... Well to spoil our trick: we were able to be there after 5 o'clock ;) Little bit of the last sunshine of the day - and all boats already back to the harbor. We were extremely lucky I feel!
vblogs like yours make life bearable. I mean everyone has difficulties & worries and seeing videos like yours (I particularly like waters) seems to bring some smile and able to express Wow...wow.....

Travel Gretl honestly im not sure yet. I'll probably pick and choose where to go when i'm there. But I'll definitely do more research on what places are best to visit. 😃

We are talking of barely the northern half. I heard that the southern half has equal if not more. Balabac Island is wild. I hope that area will be made safer. Thanks.

if you want deserted islands go to southern palawan , the balabac islands , its undiscovered and the islands are breathtaking! it looks unreal!

if you want empty beaches, miles and miles of the most beautiful white sand , countless sandbars with no tourists, then balabac islands is for you.the islands are not limestones like el nido and coron, they are similar to maldives but these ones are undiscovered !
you will probably the very first western tourist to vlog balabac islands if you happen to go

Wow your back Gretl! .. Love this vlog by the way for it brings back memories of my own expedition from El Nido to Coron via Tao Philippines (1 and a half years ago). Eager to see the next vlog!
Oh cool :D Do both tours look a lot alike for as far as you can tell?! Curious for the Tao Experience
There are similarities. The Tao boats though were bigger and could accommodate more guests but we were only 8 in our boat as we were at the tail end of the summer season, beginning of the rainy season when we did the expedition. Food was abundant (similar to yours), served fresh and featuring traditional Filipino dishes. As far as the island stop and base camps, Tao had a more variety of islands. I think they built this up over the years by partnering with the inhabitants of the remote islands. Also the Tao accommodations were better IMHO. We didn't sleep in camping tent like you did. They had traditional Filipino houses (bahay kubo) set up in the base camps. Good for me as I had a bad back. hahaha.. I look forward to the next installment of your buhay isla expedition! .. Just a question, how many days were the Buhay Isla expedition?
Is both tours the same amount of days? I think Tao must be more expensive, do u know the cost difference?
