- Pain is a funny thing, isn't it? I mean, if you're anything like me, then you just want it to end the moment it starts. Same with sorrow, in my experience.
And still, there's beauty and wisdom to be found in pain and sorrow.
Before I gave my life to Papa, I lived and struggled with severe depression for more than 20 years. Sometimes it could last for 2 or 3 years on end. And in that period of time I couldn't remember what it was like to be happy, why I was even alive. It completely drained me.
God freed me from all that (watch my testimony). I don't believe God gives depression to anyone. But God can work through anything for good.
In retrospect, without the depression I probably would not have ended up making music. In those struggles I learned a lot about myself. I discovered my faults, my weaknesses, I learned to be compassionate, to be empathetic and it gave me a big love for the misfits. People and animals alike :)
But most people hide from the feelings or emotions in these sorrowful moments and deny themselves the chance to become a more complete human being.
You see, despair is tied strongly to hope.
Jeremiah knew that. However gruesome his circumstances and that of his people, Jerusalem and Israel, he knew AND reminded himself that God's faithful love never ends. He's not forgotten about you. But sometimes the sunrise takes a bit longer than we'd like.
Search for the glimmer of hope in whatever circumstances you find yourself in. It is there. And one day you'll look back and see the Hope that was there all along.
Lamentations starts off in the third person. But Jeremiah identifies himself with the pain of his people.
So, especially for those people in need of Hope, I've written these scriptures in the first person so you too can sing it as a personal prayer, to the One Who hears you and cares so, so deeply for you. Even if you don't see it right now, you will one day. Promise. His faithful love never ends.

So strong you commented with your life on this song!! I do also remember❤ something, when I suffered. A preacher came to me and said: to suffer can break you OR heal you.
Most of the Christians are healed because they see suffering as a form of grace.
When it breaks you, you can join the wife of Job. Job himself learned that God is greater.
The most difficult thing is to suffer without God....Thank you Xander! Through your suffering we can also be healed by these beautiful songs.

God has always been faithful to his people but there are times they have to go through the hard times just like America right now we're about to enter the hardest time in Our generation that we have ever seen. We will be crying out to God. We will be mindful of everything around us. Lamentations makes a lot of sense right now to me. Are we being destroyed? Are we under judgment? I tend to think we are being dealt with harshly by God for the way we have allowed abortion, the gay lifestyle and the church. We allow drag queens to be ordained now in a certain denomination. Yes, God is letting us know our hearts are breaking as well as it should. Jesus is King and what's happened in the White House. That is a crime and a shame but when evils in the court the people cry and mourn. We have the answer but yet we have sat back too long and now look where we're at so we've got to get up. We've got to pray we've got to fast and we've got to stand in unity together as true Christians
I felt the pain about Israel situation in this song, they are surrounded by the enemies, hated by many, but God is faithfull, He'll deliver His people from the hands of the enemy. He brought them back to Israel, He's bring them to Yeshua. God bless Israel. Yeshua is the answer to everyone. Jesus.

Just read the book of Lamentations
I wish the artist would be more faithful to the scriptural text. Too many liberties have been taken. You would never kjnow by the lyrics to this song that the original passages (Lamentation 1/3) is about the destruction of Jerusalem. For example, personified pronouns that are to refer to the city in the original text, such as "she" have been changed to first person "my" and "I" in the song. "Bitterly she cries in the night" has been changed to "I cry myself to sleep each night." "Her cheeks" in Lam. 1:2 have been changed to "my pillow"! Come on! The whole meaning of the original scripture(s) has been changed. Please, respect the text. Yes, the tune is lovely, and well-crafted, but please don't change the meaning of the scriptures.

I wish the commenters would be more faithful to the word of God. By not grumbling about minor details in an artistic work written by a brother in Christ trying to share God's love they would exemplify the words of the Lord Jesus when He said to love one another.

@philk5056 do you not know that the LIVING word of God can be made personal for yourself? Jesus Christ is the living word of God. This is what I do many times when praying for others, myself, etc, and this is what the artist here has done. Be blessed in the living word Himself, Jesus Christ. 🥰🙏✝️
It is up to us to search the word.I agree to a point but it provokes me to search what they're singing. Much healinghas come to my soul and Spirit from this ministry. But I check everything even in church when a pastor is preaching I check the word.They even encouraged you to search And I feel they do let you know. This is about Jerusalem. Just have to really listen.
