I am in the midst of my first draft season and am really struggling for a very specific reason - my first three picks all played very little, but not due to being rotation risks like Mahrez or Grealish in the example in the video, but them being injury prone. The players are KDB, Isak, and Jesus. I very consciously focused on forwards due to the reasons mentioned in the video (I haven't seen the video until today) and was very happy with these three picks as all other teams struggled with forwards at the end of the draft. However, KDB was injured immediately in GW1 and the forwards had several spells out. At the moment in my league it is incredibly tight with the leader at 20-0-12 and me in the fifth place at 18-2-12, thus the spread of top five teams is 4 points, with 6 GWs remaining. However, all the other teams have much more points from the top 3 players in their squad (not necessarily top three picks, but in most cases that is the fact). I have managed to keep up the pace due to more analysis and waivers done, yet, the single strongest predictor overall of the current league table is the output of three best players in each team. Thus, based on that, nothing matters more than your three best players and my biggest lesson for next year is to pick at least 2 historically secure and non injury prone players in my first three picks.
No doubt man. We do 10 man league and usually have 8 there in person and 2 on video call. 1 in the states & 1 in Singapore. Always a cracking night. The nerves and excitement of everyone involved in 1 way or another is what makes the draft the best.
I want to try this, but how do you do transfers? If there is a good player available and two players want to get the in, do you have to be the first one to get them or how does transfers work?

It makes a lot of sense but I do think with your first pick you want to get the absolute best player available regardless of position. Second round I think a FWD is definitely a priority if you don't already have one.
Switching from Official FPL this season to Fantrax for my cash league. With a more diverse and in depth scoring system I see this draft being very interesting and hard to read coming from the simplicity of the Official FPL platform.
I have the 4th pick in a 12 team league this weekend. Going to see if I can steal Kane due to the Bayern hullabaloo and being the only spurs fan in the crew I hope they overlook him for their teams stars ( salah, Rashford)

This is all good advice. The thing I agree on the most is to get everyone in 1 room to do the draft. Draft night is the best night of the season.

a tip you missed is that you shouldn’t waiver on your high picks early as it would even out later on in the season
