  • The COVID-19 pandemic and the damaging impacts of climate change has changed feminist advocacy as we know it. Over the past two years alone, the challenges faced by women's human rights defenders have multiplied. Existing inequalities and intersecting marginalisations were magnified by the onset of a global pandemic, leaving WHRDs to bear the burden of navigating rights violations in an unknown world.
In our five-part series, women's human rights defenders from the Global South narrate the challenges they faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and how they overcame adversity.
In our first video, Jannatul from BINDU Women (Bangladesh) tells us her story.
