    This video does not seem like a fair comparison. I would like to see the same cut between a loose stone that you "curate" vs the two stones from online with the exact "same" specifactions. She didnt even show hers compared to the online ones. Same cut, same carat, same clarity etc. Easy to bash and make yourself sound great. At the end of the day shes a salesperson.

    When I first lost the stone in my wedding ring, I thought oh I’ll just get one online. I went through UA-cam University to find the diamond 😂 I considered myself pretty informed about this purchase BUT it’s soooo hard to find the right diamond because you really need to see it AND you need to see how it looks with your wedding band, etc., so while waiting for my ring, I watched even more videos and found your channel. In the meantime, I searched out a local jeweler and found (well they found) the diamond of my dreams!! They showed me sooo many diamonds and when I wanted to see diamonds with certain ratios, they worked to bring those in so I could see them in person, both in store light and outside. I had a million questions and they he jeweler was so patient and provided options based on my style, preferences, budget, etc.! I returned the online ring once it arrived and I’m very happy with my ring I purchased from a local jeweler.

    We worked with a jeweler out on the East Coast virtually. I’d tried on a few in person at a big-box store to be sure of the stone shape and size, sent him photos, and he took it from there. I also sketched plans of my setting (I’m unfortunately an engineer lol and did not want to leave structural integrity to chance) and he replicated my vision exactly. Pleasurable experience from start to finish.

    Another great, informative video. I bought locally because I needed to be able to see what I was getting before I purchased. I also wanted to be able to take my rings in to be serviced and checked every six months without having to ship them off somewhere. I’d been stalking the online retailers comparing prices, but once I became educated about diamonds, that was a hard no for me. I researched for about a year before taking the plunge. I was able to select a much better quality lab diamond than I would’ve picked earlier in my shopping journey. I also discovered you have to try on rings. I always thought I hated marquise cuts, but I ended up with dainty, shared prong marquise bands sandwiching my princess pave ring. The contrast of shapes is absolutely gorgeous, and I constantly get compliments on it.

    This was a great video Bonnie. I don’t understand how someone can purchase any diamond whether it be lab grown or natural, sight unseen !!! I have checked out those spinning videos the online sellers provide. Maybe it’s just me but I find it very hard to see the true sparkle of any diamond on those quick spinning videos. I went to a reputable jeweler in my area in person who curated my beautiful round diamond and also made my custom setting around my particular diamond. I was able to see my diamond next to other diamonds to see in person that it had maximum sparkle, and no weird color tinges. Mine is an H color, near colorless diamond and was put next to a colorless diamond. I know colorless is more desirable for most buyers, but my near colorless had more sparkle than the colorless it was put next too because the colorless was not excellent cut like mine, it was only a good cut diamond. I also asked to see my diamond outside in outdoor/indoor regular lighting, outside of the fancy jewelry store lighting . I think it’s soooooo important to ask for that and take it out of the jewelry store where they have such amazing lighting , even a poor cut, poor color diamond will look beautiful under professional lighting. I’ve always been a true believer in you get what you pay for. It’s very possible that you may end up with a beautiful diamond buying on line but it’s possible that you won’t. A 50/50 chance was just not good enough for me, especially when it came to such an expensive purchase. I am literally mesmerized when I look at all of your rings that you show. I love my ring still til this day even 12 years later, I still look down and stare at it every day. However if I had known about you 12 years ago, I would have absolutely gone to you. Having a jeweler that cares so much about their clients and their happiness and who is honest, is truly priceless !! ❤❤

      @@ByBonnieJewelry yes I do still love my custom setting however, I’m pretty sure I’ve said this in another comment before I chose to have it set, which is not some thing I would have chose today and if you still set diamonds from other jewelers into your settings, I may have really thought about having my diamond reset by you into one of your absolutely beautiful custom settings, the jeweler who helped me curate my diamond and did my custom setting has since retired to Florida but I totally understand why you don’t it makes sense. My jeweler who designed my setting and helped curate my diamond also did not set diamonds from other places that he didn’t curate himself for all the very same reasons that you don’t❤❤

    Bonnie, I TOTALLY understand your reason for not accepting other company stones to be set in your designs. I think the liability would be tricky and if somebody goes to the trouble of saving money for a ring, they should consider buying a setting from the person they would buy the stone from.

    I bought a 1.2 ct promise ring from an online retailer then a 4.8 ct engagement from the same online retailer and paid a great price compared to others who offer the same diamond marked up triple even 4 times more. All looked well for both under all lighting. Glad I went with them but do a lot of research before going any route because in a jewelry store a diamond can look way different in other lighting.

    This is exactly why I opted to NOT order a diamond myself online. Instead I went to a store, told them what I wanted and they helped to pick and curate the diamond. Ended up going with their recommendation and couldn't be happier with the diamond and the price. Added bonus they also do custom settings to get exactly what we wanted the ring to look like!

    I bought an engagement ring last month. Spending my hard earned money on something with so much into it, heart and soul, I needed to see them in person. I got a 0.9 cushion modified, D IF, great proportions, slightly elongated, just a gorgeous stone. It was between the cushion and 0.9 E IF princess. The princess was beautiful as well, but, the D won the day. I am glad I saw them in person to make such an important decision.
    First impression, the oval seems to be less brilliant, light leakage?

    You get what you pay for…yes, finally.
    Luxury is a State of Mind. One customer’s life changing experience is another customer’s trip to a display case, at Sam’s Club.
    Now for the bad news…jewelers need foot traffic. When jewelers turn down work, like custom settings and simple solitaire mounting, for LGDs bought online , they are sending people to their competition.
    Flat fee it, Bonnie. Flat fee it.

    Imagine buying a diamond from an online store and then taking it to a jeweler and having it set. Wtf?! Who does this? Why not just research local jewelry companies and shop around first? Why would you drop so much money on a stone you can't even see in person?! 😂

  • @alisa.maks26
    @alisa.maks26 6 місяців тому

    oh god, ew 😅 the oval one looked like a turd from the start, and then once you flipped them over, you can see the biiig inclusions in the round one. as crappy as they are, i guess i can see why people buy diamonds from places like that - most people don't understand gemstones at all, they just want a big, shiny rock, and if they can get a stone that big for a price that low, they're happy. most people can't actually see the inclusions, not tell the difference between tints, and even if they can then it doesn't both them because it's a big diamond. i couldn't even bring myself to set 1.5mm stones from a supplier that has more inclusions in the stones, you can really see it, but when i show other beginner jewellers, they don't see it at all and don't care. sad times...

      but also, thank you for making this video - educational videos where you show stones to compare them, are really great for those who aren't in the business. i showed people the difference between really terrible commercial cut gems and precision cut gems, and was really surprised at how interesting people found them, so i'd love to see more content like this from you. windows in stones is another things that's hard to explain unless you show people examples of how it should and shouldn't be.
