Loved this! It's really interesting getting a bit of a look into what makes Apple Music tick, but one thing I've noticed is that not nearly as many people use the algorithmic side of Apple Music. Of course it's hard to back that up with data but at least from what I've observed, people mostly tend to go straight to their libraries since Apple doesn't push a whole lot for their generated playlists etc. Really wish they had better integration for that. I think that would probably change the way people use it to listen to music on there a lot!
Thanks dude! I don't know many people that use Apple Music so I haven't seen that, but I believe it. I jumped in using Apple Music like Spotify since i've been using Spotify for like 6 years or something. The nice thing is that if people really do use their libraries more often, that makes the 'add to library' button even more valuable than it is on Spotify, and its SUPER valuable on Spotify. About 40% of my streams every month on Spotify come from repeat listeners that saved my music to their library. I hope that Apple Music adds more data so you can track what generated the streams, at the moment they really just show raw streams and Shazams.
How long does apple music for artists take to show the streams we have on it. Its been like a month and it still hasnt updated my streams on there . Spotify updates every 2 days
So my partner in rhyme and I both have solo pages as well as our group page (far more music in our group than either solo) but both of our solo pages get more than double the streams than our group page. Is that strange?
If only apple wouldn't be so private about how their system operates. it would help us out a ton Would love to see more content on Apple Music man, we thank u
Yeah I hope someday they become as open as Spotify, but Apple is...Apple so probably not. I'm going to have more Apple Music content coming in the next few weeks!
Hmm i'm not sure. My guess is they reduce the payment per stream if someone listens on repeat, and if someone listened too many times on repeat they'd probably flag it as potential fraud and stop issuing payments. This is what Spotify does to fight streaming fraud, so i'm sure Apple has something similar.
Loved this video Andrew. This motivated me to dig deeper and figure out the apple music algorithm myself to see how it worked. Thanks for being invaluable to the independent music community.
I havent promote my work properly, but surprisingly there are people at least 10 people each day listening to my album. I mean I feel super lucky, but curious who are these wonderful people
Interesting, I switched to UA-cam music because of the algorithm. For me even if I click dislike, Apple Music keeps on recommending music I already said I don’t like. In yt music, if I click dislike it vanishes from any recommendation, also I got way better recommendations, probably because is linked to my UA-cam account.
This is excellent, Andrew. I'm a big fan, and I've seen all the Spotify videos but hadn't watched this one on Apple Music. I hope that video with the FB Ads stats and Apple Music is coming soon.
I mean it 'works', but its not the best out there. This video is to show how it functions for artists to try and take advantage of it. On my Apple Music account it makes decent recommendations starting only a few weeks of using it, but its not as good as Spotify's recommendations i've found.
How do you pitch to Apple Music playlists
How do we get on Apple Music playlists

So how to promote on apple music ? :)))
I've got the greatest song ever called Euphoria coming out 1st June and pitched to Spotify but how do you do it on the others? Running out of time.
So I made it into a Apple Music editorial playlist but it was a song that was released 6 months ago on Spotify
what did you do to get on the Apple Music editorial playlist?
How long does apple music for artists take to show the streams we have on it. Its been like a month and it still hasnt updated my streams on there . Spotify updates every 2 days
Appreciate it Andrew!
Thanks man, glad it helped.

if you do not listen to your own music you're doing something not right.
So my partner in rhyme and I both have solo pages as well as our group page (far more music in our group than either solo) but both of our solo pages get more than double the streams than our group page. Is that strange?
Subscribed! Great content, Andrew. Very helpful. And yeah I listen to my own music too so you're not alone there. 😆
On the cutting edge 👌. No one else is doing Apple Music trainings, thanks.
Thanks dude! Yeah I was very surprised almost nobody is talking about it yet.

@@AndrewSouthworth It's 3 months later... Did you make more Apple Music content? I can't find it.
You should make a video how you market your music on apple music
Loving the Make Them Suffer, Currents, Architects, and Periphery in there! Also, loving the channel!🤘😎❤️
Thanks dude! Yeah since I release mostly electronic music nowadays a lot of people are surprised when they find out i'm quite the metalhead haha.
@@AndrewSouthworth Hell yeah! Love it! Loving the tracks you release. "You" is a catchy one man! ❤️
Does apple count songs on repeat as streams?

@@AndrewSouthworth ohhh okay I gotu💫Thanks✅

Why are you embarrassed of listening to your own stuff?
I'm not, I listen to my own songs a lot. 🤷🏾♂️
Nice ....

I see I Killed the Prom Queen
I hit like
im also my biggest fan. 😎
Did you got a haircut?
Yeah! This is the hair length I go for, it just got super long due to hairdressers being closed for so long.
Andrew Southworth everybody is in same situation )))
Could I get a twitter or ig handle for this guy?
Apple Music’s algorithm doesn’t even work. Even when you press love and dislike button.
