I love how the live recordings of literally every band at OEF sound better than any official recording of any headliner at Wacken. Really shows who cares about the music and their musicians.
@@misesificationu must be one of the non musicians who talk 💩 drummers who use triggers and says it’s cheating when u obviously know nothing about it. Triggers are used for volume purposes and gives the drum hits a more pronounced tone. The drummer is still playing the drums in time and at the designated tempo. Damn near everyone uses triggers now especially Technical Death Metal where the speed (bpm) are very high this way the crowd will be able to hear every single hit the drummer makes on the bass drum. If the drummer makes a mistake and plays out of time then the mistake is much more noticeable than without triggers . It will sound like sporadic out of time popcorn popping. So these drummers that use triggers really have to focus much more on there timing or the crowd will hear the mistakes being made vs no triggers at all.

Generally, you want the trigger to „trigger“ (lol) whenever your pedal beater hits the Bass-Drum. The big problem with this is especially, when drummers play double strokes or „heel toe“ for their double bass techniques. In this particular case, you can actually argue that this is kinda „cheating“, because the second stroke of your double stroke hit is normally very weak and barely audible, but the trigger plays every note with the same volume, thus making it sound like all your bass drum hits are played equally hard. I am a drummer myself and I would say: triggering is mostly fine, just for double stroke it is definitely some sort of cheating or at least beating lazy for not learning proper single stroke techniques…
