Hey Dustin, just wanted to give a few tips to help out with this build, you can delete the break pad wear sensor by cutting the tip and twisting the wires together and tucking the harness way. You also can have the light for the seats deleted via bimmer pro Geeks using an Android tablet, or pay someone to code it out remotely. If you go with a full coilover set up you would have to do the same.
The M2 is slowly becoming one of my favorite builds on the channel. I love that you’re putting the little JDM touches on it too, that OMP seat is SAUCY 😮💨
Quick comment on the Brake Fluid/Bleed/Flush process. For the DIY-er without BMW tools that actuate the ABS pump to 'push the fluid out', disconnect the battery and the brake pedal feel returns to what a normal (non-brake by wire) system feels like, since that's the backup fail-safe mode if power is cut (so you still have brakes in an emergency). This lets you more effectively bleed the brakes. I can't imagine how much work it was for you guys to have bled the brakes with the battery still connected. Secondly the brake error you got was not likely from bleeding but rather from retracting the rear brake piston without going through the process that BMW documents. Again for the DIY-er at home without using any official or aftermarket BMW software, just keep that battery disconnected while going through the process and the car won't be 'surprised' that fluid levels, piston position etc. have changed suddenly - which might otherwise suggest a brake failure if it happened while driving. Keep up the progress!
In Forza Motorsport I did a 1:38.448 on Laguna Seca in a stock M2. The suspension and tire upgrades made a huge difference. It had a little understeer after the apex of the corner. Also the brake upgrade helped with apex entry.
Dut sick vid and always great to see the Race Car G87 M2 get some more upgrades and look at you with the Endless Racing brake pads smart man 👌 and nice touch with the Limited Edition Confetti type seat that thing is sick 👌 cant wait to see more upgrades and you ripping up the track and good luck ill be rooting for you and as always keep up the great work 👍
Can anyone clarify if dustin put the rotors on the correct side interms of the slots? In the past when ive changed slotted rotors on my own big brakes ive always aswell as being advised by the manufacture (DBA) to have the lower side of the slot contact the pad first while the rotors in rotation therefore expelling the heat outwards towards the barrel of the wheel and not inwards to the hub such as dustins car would appear. Not saying its wrong but just wondering what Girodisk or Bmw reccomend?
From my experience running Girodisc rotors, when I installed mine, they were labeled right and left. So I imagine Dustin has them on correctly because they should come labeled straight from Girodisc.
the rotors have direction indicators, the slots on the rotor face have nothing to do with the cooling vanes, the slots are to expel gasses and dust that come off the pad during braking
It was nice seeing raw car-modding footage, reminded me of the your old WRX days and reminds me back to the root reason of upgrading cars in the first place and enjoying the process💯
From South Africa 🇿🇦 and been watching 8pm our local time for the last two years, catching up on all the vids on the days nothing drops. Currently in the US working and the vids drop midday, at least I still have lunchtime to watch them😂 love the m2🔥 and can't wait to see the Porsche getting built🔥
You need JQ works paddle shifters. They are completely completely game changing for the DCT. You should also get a Turner differential brace and Turner polyurethane subframe bushings. They make the transmission sound crazy and you notice it. Right off the bat it reduces wheel hop.
Cross your fingers about the brake fluid flush. BMW is always over engineered. Without the power brake bleed you may end up with air bubbles stuck in the system. You may be fine but best to get the dealership to bleed the system b4 tracking. I'm a mechanic with my own garage. Not that I know more than you, but I do have some experience with BMW and these types of things. Stoked on the build!!!
Dude the OMP M Rain is SOOOO good!! It's the tiny little touches that brings builds together and they fit the aesthetic of the M2 perfect. 100% get the non halo for the other side!
As someone on the opposite side of the spectrum (I'm a Bimmer guy now getting into JDM stuff) I fully agree with the seat choice. Good work as usual. 🤙
I know you like the JDM stuff, and I did too, but try Ferodo pads. You will be blown away by how much better and longer lasting they are. For 200TW tires, give the DS1.11 a shot. They last forever and have so much stopping power. I use them on my GT4, coming from Hondas, and S2000’s mainly.
dustin, fun fact, if you hit the "Tare" button it'll zero the scale out. and when you get off the scale it'll go negative. so when you hold the seat and get back on, you'll see the weight of whatever you're holding. haha
Great project. But shouldn't the slot on the disk go other direction? t shold be different between left and right side and the slots bend toward back side.
The reason it’s in the back of the motor is because the timing components for B58/S58 are on the back of the engine, which the oil pump is driven from there, hence where the oil filter housing location is on the car 😬 - for wet sump engines the filter housing is always close to the oil pump
Its very common for bmw to have big brakes up front and the tiniest in the rear, is the weight difference that big that its useless to have a 4pot in the rear?
Probably got the brake system error because the electric parking brake. When replacing pads you have to use BMW ISTA to retract the pistons, replace, and end the service procedure. If you’re interested in proper coding remotely for the seats, I have a contact for you 👍🏾
@@paidsk8er23 Ahh, okay. Yeah true, but I don't think he really tracks the FL5 hard, and he converted the R32 GT-R back into more of a street spec when/after he got the M2. The M2 seems like it's gonna be his main race car, at least for the time being. As a Porsche fanboy, I kinda hope he makes the Cayman into a race car and ditches the M2 🤣🤷♂.
Dustin nice upgrade. Hope this M2 will get a full mod of everything like a fully Aero as always great video. By the way you stop uploading on Wednesday?
those seats are IT!!!

The M2 upgrades were of course awesome, but let’s talk about that wicked Ghost fridge and Ghost energy stockpile haha!
Haha it’s sick!! One of the best parts of the shop
@@dustiinw without a doubt man! Gotta have the energy arsenal on point for those late night build sessions.
Agreed! We need a Ghost fridge giveaway at some point because they still don’t sell them yet 😂🙏🏻
@@NoLimitBowen that’s a great idea! And for good measure, toss in a year supply of Ghost Energy.
Thousands of dollars worth of parts , two track days and I bet that car will be traded in or sit and collect dust

I love it! Need to get our cars together soon!!
Amazing! Masa needs to make an appearance in the home vlogs, would be epic. Keep up the awesome work. Fan from South Africa

Hi, is there any way around the rear piston retracting? TY
@ not that I’ve been aware of.
The endless blue with the blue for the M logo on the brakes 😮💨 the small detail looks so good!

Awesome video as always Dustin. The BMW M2 upgrades are so awesome can't wait to see it blasting down the track.
Crazy to see what the OEM Pad became. Awesome to.see the JDM touches to this build 🤘🏻

Awesome stuff! The M Rain pattern on the OMP’s is 🔥

Power blender is the jam!! Get one and do it that way every time. I’d redo it definitely a cheap tool that make it trouble free.

Nice upgrades. Hopefully did the brake lines to steel braided lines to? Because that one is very important for your braking performance.

I love when you do mod for the M2 also take it to the track and can also on the road that so sicks bro
New dut BMW vid let’s gooooo!! 🔥

what wheels are you using? dimensions? any spacers?
That seat is so bad ass 👌 I can't wait to see a non halo one on the passenger side and the fact you still have the stock seat belt is such a good idea
Another Fantastic Vlogs ever on the G87 M2 👌
Good luck on the upcoming season 👍
when did you get the chaser?! drift project?
Wish you were racing at COTA this weekend
Solid upgrades!
Hi, according to the rotor slots direction, haven't you installed the left rotors on the right side and the right rotors on the left side?
No. Look at the direction of stock rotors. Also, girodisc clearly labels which side is which.
Letttsssss GOOOOOOOOO!!!😊
Lol every Dustin Williams video title be like "Put new breaks on my car! *THEY STOP HARD*".... we get it man.
Can't wait for the actual start of the Porsche Cayman build (rebuild?) this Friday! I wish you'd do more than one video a week on it, though. Lol.

All I got to say is you have a great taste in modifying your cars my dude!!
thanks for watching!!
Where did you get the endless pads? Those are track/street use?
They are track pads. I got them directly from Endless USA
looking great
whats the car-wrap coulour/finish called? pls
You forgetting to grab a hanger to support the brake calipers is me every time I replace my rotors hahaha
Sweet Bimmer! I miss my old one alot. Nice Upgrades!!
M Rain subtle graphics on the exterior would complete it 😮
M2 content is sick, goal of mine is to build a track car one day. You planning to participate in the Gridlife event at COTA this weekend?
That’s a sick seat!
That OMP SEAT looks dope🔥
btw I lost my UA-cam account at some point and dont remember what happened to the Civic EG
This is NOT the typical bmw build. Love it. Please no burble/crackhead tune on it. Haha
How can you mod a car like this in CA??
For tires try the Kumho V730
Weight of new seat?
GHOST!!!
Yoo, have you checked if those ventilated rotors are pointing the right way? I think they are changed
I’ve honestly lost track on all the cars Dustin has.. does he have a daily or is everything a race car?!? lol
Lol the friction surface on one of those brakepads is just as much as all of the pads from my miata combined 😂😢
Love the new seat! But it would look even better without the writing on it.
The reason it’s in the back of the motor is because the timing components for B58/S58 are on the back of the engine, which the oil pump is driven from there, hence where the oil filter housing location is on the car 😬 - for wet sump engines the filter housing is always close to the oil pump
I’m here early and excited for the video. Let’s get it
nice!
Maybe a JQ & Madtrace racing steering wheel next👀👀
I have Endless rotors, calipers and pads on my R35 GT-R. They are fantastic, but you’d expect so for $18k! The brake dust is really gnarly though.
Its very common for bmw to have big brakes up front and the tiniest in the rear, is the weight difference that big that its useless to have a 4pot in the rear?
oooo m2 parts spicy

Don't forget to add extra oil in between oil changes.....dont know if S58 burns oil like any other Bmer engines but....
This the video I been waiting on so I can have some ideas about my G87 had it for a couple months but didn’t know what to do to it
Are the rotors on the wrong side? They looked like the rotation of slots were going in the wrong direction.
Dang it wanted a porsche video but I am still gonna watch and like hahah

Price ?
I heard there's a special tool to push the calipers back in you can't use the clamp is that true for the M2 rears?
