Note on Airmen's Run: Don't be disappointed if you don't spot your son/daughter. Or if you spot someone else's son/daughter instead. They most likely will see you. That's what matters. You'll be seeing them shortly.
Thank you for saying this!!!
This is very true. Spotted my family within a second of running up to them
Congrats Airman ":I am an American Airman.
I am a Warrior.
I have answered my Nation’s call.
I am an American Airman.
My mission is to Fly, Fight, and Win.
I am faithful to a Proud Heritage,
A Tradition of Honor,
And a Legacy of Valor.

My Nation’s Sword and Shield,
Its Sentry and Avenger.
I defend my Country with my Life.
I am an American Airman.
Wingman, Leader, Warrior.
I will never leave an Airman behind,
I will never falter,
And I will not fail."
Fantastic Mike!! I agree we couldn't be more proud ourselves. It was an awesome experience for us all. They treated the families so very well we felt honored. Bryce is in Airmens week currently and this Monday will head up to Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo for tch training over the nest 5 months or so. Then we shall see. Appreciate the support very much, wish your son in law well and tell him thanks for his service. :)
Damnnn I already forgot that 😂

As a former service member and son, want to thank all the parents out there that support their sons and daughters with this decision.
As a newly minted parent , I know this is a proud and difficult moment seeing your children make this awesome commitment.
Thank you for that Greg and even a bigger thank you for your service 👍👍👍😁
I'm still watching the video...but just wanted to comment on how personable the officer at MEPS was in the swearing in. Much more entertaining than the one that swore my son in this August.
For sure, he is a first class stand up guy.
By far one of my best weekends (Thursday-Saturday) ever. The most amazing experience of my life. Most look up to their hero’s. I raised mine. Nothing in this world sums this statement better. Great video of family time. Hope he got a good position and is enjoying being an Airman.
Appreciate that, yep doing great and stationed in Germany. All the best to you and yours 👍😁
I cried watching this like he my family or I know him or something
It is such a powerful and emotional experience, thanks for sharing 😊
First thing I’m gonna tell my parents is “ you got my headphones?” Cuz once I get my phone back I’m plugging that shit in and listening to my music while I cry in a corner cuz damn I did that 😂😂😂
Nah just kidding
Congratulations, Airman! I graduated BMT in 1987. 🇺🇸

I'm in tears. Thank you for this video. Mine went to BT 12/2018. I'm so proud of these airmen. Can't wait till graduation.
Thanks for that Melissa so glad you enjoyed. Graduation was powerful emotionally and one of the special moments in our lives we will never forget and always cherish. Thank you for supporting our men and women and most of all your Airmen as it is so hard to let them go. Welcome to the family 🤗
Appreciate the video! I was in the same graduation and even saw myself! It's crazy how fast time goes, but its so awesome to see this. Thanks man !
Wow that is so awesome you were in this. We are thrilled you enjoyed thank you so much. Appreciate you my friend wish you all the best and we hope your journey has been fantastic Bryan 😀
Thank you for sharing, clearly saw my Airman in your videos. what an awesome time that was. I think your Airman was in the bunk next to my Airman. He was a Warthog also.
Yes Yes Tracie , he told us "Thats Stokes bunk" I totally remember that!! I could tell Bryce thought highly of him just the way he said his name. You obviously have a special guy right there no doubt. It really was awesome wasn't it. We were so humbled by how great everyone is to one another and so proud of all the Airmen. Congrats to you and yours. Bryce is at Goodfellow for his tech school and he is a happy guy. Thank you for your comments you made our week! Go Warthogs

I will be attending my son's graduation at Lackland AFB in December. Thank you so much for posting this video! It gave me a very good idea of what to expect :)
Jean Storie So glad it helped you Jean, have a wonderful time which I know you will. Such a great experience ☺
Thanks for sharing, my son is currently at BMT and this was awesome to give some perspective of what to expect.
Her Redeemed Life Thanks for that , so glad it helped. Congrats to you and your son. Graduation will be life changing in a tremendously positive way. Welcome to the 1% and thank your son for his service :)
Thanks for this video. I always wondered why my parents bought so much apparel that says “My Son Is In The Air Force” or “Proud Air Force Dad/Mom”. Now I know it really is something for a parent to be proud of after seeing it from a parents perspective. Best wishes to your son.
That's so great to hear, thank you for sharing that it makes our day. Our son is in Germany currently and doing fantastic, we couldn't be more proud. Thank you for your service!! :)
How fun- I just watched my daughter graduate last week- she also went to Goodfellow. 8.5 weeks changed her so much for the better!
Fantastic John, congrats and thank her for her service along with you and your family. An amazing time it is for you all.
Our son is now at Ramstein AFB Germany and really loving the Airforce, going carrier he says. All the best to you ☺🇺🇸
Things sure have changed. When I arrived at Lackland, I was met by a bunch of burly Sgts. who yelled at us. We were in a new world and it was a little scary at first but things got better about a week into training. I have good memories of Basic.

Appreciate that very much Connie. Thank you for supporting your daughter as we know how hard it is letting them go. I can just say after graduation it gets better as we can talk to them like normal. Thank you so much for this Video, My son graduates July 5th 2019, Thank you also for your service! This has helped me see what to look forward to
Great job airman. As a prior Marine. I feel safer in a foxhole with and airman then a soldier. These airman look more fit, and disciplined then army could ever be. We should have the Air Force train all soldiers. At least then they will have some sort of discipline and can actually march.
Trust me you will rather have us in the sky because if we are there your coming home as simple as that if not we failed you period
Jeffrey Johnson lots of pride goes into it, those people want to be there, Semper Fi and thanks for your service.

Atlanta MEPS needs to watch this video. The man doing the swear in was so personal and understanding of the family members feelings. Atlanta was cold and methodical. We were not allowed to take photos during the swear in and the recruits were rushed out shortly after taking the oath.
This is bittersweet to watch. Our son will be graduating BMT in a few weeks and, due to COVID-19, we are missing out on *all* of these events.😥 I'm grateful my son's recruiter sent us a video of his swearing in at MEPS before shipping, but the BMT graduations are closed to the public and the airmen cannot leave the base. Not only are we missing all these events, we don't know the next time we will be with our son, as he will go straight to tech school after BMT graduation. I'm happy for all those family and friends who were able to see their recruit be sworn in and attend their airman's graduation! But the closer we get to our son's graduation, the more I'm grieving what we are missing out on. I would have loved to tour the base and his dorm room, too. So I'm watching videos to help visualize what he is experiencing.
Hi Rachel, So sorry for you and all those families in your same situation. Our son is currently held up in Germany from coming back to the states for the same reason. He will finally be able to come back in Sept. Your son once in tech school will allow for normal phone calls back and forth which is great. Also, the USAF is going to start lifting restrictions (unless there is a major spike in COVID cases) so I would think by September you may be able to visit off base. Depending on his tech school length he should be able to come home before he goes to his first assigned base. One thought for graduation, just an idea. In the future once this all settles down and families are welcomed back, talk to a local recruiter and see about sponsoring another Airmen in your area. See if you can attend along with your son (We saw many uniformed Airmen attending with families) and go experience it together. This is something we would like to do someday and have talked about. Our sons GF is an Airmen also and she really wants to do this so we are all excited about it. Perhaps if you all did that someday it would help this situation a little. Depending on your sons job and base, once he's out of tech school you can visit in person. Our son went straight to Germany but was able to come home for 3 weeks over Thanksgiving and we had a planned to fly to Germany this Spring but you know the rest. Bless you Rachel, hang in there, your all part of this great family. It has been a fantastic thing for our son and his life worth as an Airmen gives him peace, confedence and stability. Thank your son for his service and THANK YOU for you and your family's service. The family serves too! Always remember that, carry that with you 🇺🇸😁
@@maxtanicfilms Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! I'm in a couple Facebook support groups, so it's nice to have some others who are experiencing this right along with us. Great idea about sponsoring someone. I'm not familiar with what this entails. We're in CA and have 3 kids still at home, so a trip to Lackland takes a great deal of effort/expense, but we were excited that he's graduating during the summer when our kids are off school and my husband is also off work (he's a teacher), and we had planned to attend the graduation before covid ruined this, of course. Our son will be going to Sheppard and his tech school is 49 days. His best friend shipped to BMT March 10 (which was the day the AF announced the graduations would be closed) and is also at Sheppard. His tech school is longer than our son's, and he calculated that they should be graduating at the same, which would be in Sept. But I know sometimes there are delays at BMT and/or tech school, so we realize this might not actually happen. Still, it's nice to know they may end up being able to see eachother at tech school. They had tried to ship to BMT at the same time, but it didn't work out. Then our son was supposed to ship March 17, but he ended up deciding to wait until he got a confirmed mechanical job and had an expected graduation date that wasn't smack in the middle of final exam week for his dad and brother. And now none of this mattered, plus he's going through BMT in the Texas heat. 🥵 But God knows all about this and our son is no doubt building character and resilience. I can't wait until we can communicate with him. We're trying to write him daily. I've had just 4 minutes on the phone with him so far. He says he's written letters, but we haven't received any yet. This is building character in us as parents too.😏
@@rachelh5211 For sure, this is the hardest time for all of you. The lack of being to communicate is a real bummer. Awesome your on those face groups which are great. Character building is very true and very real. It is a heartbreaker watching them leave the house and then starting their adult lives. Not sure if any of us parents were ready for that shock. That was the worst for us, dealing with a new normal. Thanks for your comments a feel free to contact us anytime if you have questions. Your son being a mechanic is fantastic, very hard to find skilled technicians so he's got a bright future. God bless 👍🇺🇸
Thank you for posting this. My son is leaving for BMT very soon and your experience here is super helpful.

PogoLeader security forces already get an associates in Criminal justice. If I were you I would go now, and do both at the same time
My son put eight years in the Air Force. Loved it. Had to get out, because he became a single parent. Sad for all of us. I wanted him to do twenty years, and so did he. Airmen of the year once. Airman of the month three times. Seucity Forces. Was an instuctor at in San Antonio for six years teaching combat arms. I am a Vietnam, Marine Corps, infantry, wounded three times veteran. Was at the Khe Sahn 881 Hill Fights. Lost five of my best friends on May 3rd. 1967, when we got overrun by the North Vietnamese. Talked my son into joining the Air Force, because I didn't want him being a grunt like me. He loved the AirForce. I encourage all young people to join the Air Force. You will love it too. Semper Fi

This gives me goosebumps.
It's called a silent run for a reason....
To be fair, we couldn’t hear one word that was over the loudspeaker! So we had no idea it was a silent run. In the stands and on the video you can make out what they said, but where we were standing it was just garbled. NO ONE (including those around us) meant any disrespect! The reason we made this video is precisely because we had no idea what was going on, and wanted to help others about to go through the same experience!
@@madisonmcgahan5280 thank you for the video. My only son...only child wants to join the Air Force. I'm so nervous...😔
NikiSyl78 it’s an emotional adventure to be sure! We’re extremely proud of our son, and feel wholeheartedly that the Air Force was the right decision for him. He’s been stationed overseas for a couple years and will be coming back to the states soon, and even though we miss him terribly, we’re still so proud of the decision he made to join the military! I’ve been where you are, and can tell you, that our experience has been amazing, I hope you get the same feeling from your experience if your son decides to joins!
Awesome video and thank you sharing, congratulations
Thanks corona, for not letting me experience this!
Where do airmen go if we have no family or anyone to visit? In this video, everyone is with their families, where do the ones without families go and what do they do?
Thank you for this video! I’m sure it has helped and given insight for parents.
Good question. We asked our son that and he said they buddy up with fellow Airmen which we saw when we were there. Meaning they would be tapped out by other Airmen as they were by family members. They would also join with other families and the like. In other cases they would join other Airmen with out family and go out in town as this is one big family. It was one of the greatest times of our lives, we couldn't put into words how proud we are of our son and all the other Airmen and their families. Thanks for your comments 😁👍👍

Hang in there Rachel I know its a difficult time but it will work out. Our son is held up in Germany, delayed 60 days from coming back to the states. Ironically he will be stationed at Lackland so you may even run into him sometime. Be well, stay safe and thank you for serving our nation, such a fantastic endeavour 🇺🇸🇺🇸😎👍
Maxtanic Films DIY thank you! I hope he’s doing well over there, my brother is in the Navy and is also held from taking leave unfortunately. I’ll try to keep an eye out for him when I finally get there haha 😊
Can i ask why are there marines on the AirForce oath ceremony at the begining? and why is there a US army officer holding the MEPS swearing and not an officer from the AirForce?
The best I can tell you on this is that MEPS covers all branches and that the Military family is one. Prior to Bryce going in the oath chamber there were Navy , Marine & Army swearing ins by the same Army Officer you see in the video. There simply is no disconnect as we learned first hand. Even though Lackland is known as the gateway to the Air Force it is a joint base and as we toured the base we saw Marines and Army personnel etc. At MEPS we as family were surrounded by families of all branches seeing their loved ones off. Hope that helps, appreciate the comments :)
This will be me year 2021, in Jesus name
Wow!!! A lot has changed since I graduated in Nov 01. The graduation experience seems a lot cooler. Looks like new dorms too?
Yes new dorms but they still use the old ones which are now called Alcatraz lol. Thank you for your service 👍👍👍🇺🇸😎

Been there done that over 35 years ago.
Ok boomer.
At 11:50 in this video my MTI comes into the picture! Lol Go Wolf Pack! 331 TRS
Why the different color shirts? And such a proud moment it warmed my heart
Great question Angelie, the shirts represent the different training squadrons. Some Airmen didn't purchase the shirts and thus that is why some have on white t-shirts like our son who elected to purchase a special custom shirt that isnt available to the public. A lot of cool stuff they all share in and we had such a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for watching and happy it impacted you. God bless ☺
maxtanicfilms oh!!! Thank you for answering

I want to join the Airforce after high school but that asvab test is hard
You can do it 👍Our son went on the delayed entry program when he was still in HS. Go see a recruiter and ask them about it. You take the ASVAB as a part of it and will know your job before you hv to fully commit. In addition you can sign up for 6 yrs instead of 4 and come out an E3 after tech school. That's what our son did and he is loving life. Station in Germany and service our country. We wish you the best 🙂👍🇺🇸

I LOVE this video!! Just curious, when did you film this airman run/coin ceremony? Our son's was August 10, 2017 but his two friends were in the Airman run September 14, 2017. I'm wondering if his friends were in this video. Watching this was a throwback to how exciting and fun it was for us to be at Lackland and go through all the ceremonies, base liberty and town pass! And I loved your comment when you recognized your son-by the way he runs! I laughed because I recognized my son by his smirky smile, which I caught a flash of when his bald head went past and we caught eyes for a second. Thank you for pisting this!!
Libby Jensen Oh wow thanks so much Libby. Our sons graduation was Sept 15 so yes the 14 was the coin ceremony :). It is so funny how we know our kids isn't it. The experience was amazing and they sure treat the families well. We were and are just so proud of all the Airmen and loved meeting the families. Our son is doing great. He is in Germany now and loves it. Thank your son for his service and thank you for your support. We have learned as parents we serve also as it is truly a selfless act to let child go off with full love in support. We cried like crazy and it was literally gut wrenching when he left. It has been absolutely the best thing for our son and he has flourished. Thanks again Libby all the best☺
Yes, I know all about crying like crazy when letting him go. I cried harder when we left him at Lackland than I did when he shipped out for BMT. My son is now at Aviano, Italy. He hopes to go to Germany next. He's said more than once, he is SO glad he made the decision to join the Air Force. He is loving is career and his experiences! Please thank YOUR son also for his decision to serve! Stay strong-you have other parents out there knowing what you're going through as military mom and dad. Blessings and prayers for your family!
@@libbyjensen1858 Appreciate that Libby thank you! Italy, wow.....wer'e all a big family in this ☺
Thank you for sharing this. My youngest son has just left for USAF BMT. Does anybody know how much time we will get to spend with him at graduation? It seems like they graduate and it’s right off to Tech School. Thanks!

Hi Jim. Yes in the above video it will tell you all about your time at graduation. Its 3 days and absolutely one the greatest and for sure proudest experiences of our lives. If after you hv any other questions let us know as we are a true Air Force family with you! Thank your son for his service and THANK YOU for supporting your son. I know this is a hard time on the family but it is worth it. All the best :)
What are the different color t-shirts for?
Different training squadrons 👍☺
Madisons Cute Shirt Tryouts during the run there were different color shirts within the squadron.
@@Xayis They can elect to purchase TRS shirts , not mandatory however thus you see multi colored shirts in some squadrons cause some go all in others don't. Our sons squadron had multiples because many of them had ordered a special squadron shirt not yet arrived.
I see he went to Goodbuddy. What’s his AFSC? Spent 4 months there after language school.
He's a 1N4 stationed at Ramstein AFB , turned 20 today so life is good 🇺🇸😁. Thank you for your service Bob!! All the best to you sir!
I was a A203, which I guess is now 1A8X1. Good that he got an overseas assignment. Germany is fun.
@@bobfleisch609 Cryptic, cool. Yes he is having fun no doubt there 👍😎
Congratulations.
18 months to really start getting fit.at least.
