One CMF figure had a (different color) Mjolnir with a print previously. Looking forward to comments about this large & highly detailed 2100+ piece set!
I believe not that many, since there are no cheaper sets to get a couple of Vikings or pirates, just $100+ sets aimed at those who really did enjoy those waves when they were kids.
I am a big fan of this scale and I love the idea of building small villages like this. I am more than happy to add a custom boat build and I am lucky enough to have other vikings to go with this so overall I am quite happy with this one. Nice to get a substantial set at a reasonable price too.
Good review. I really like that they kept the color scheme reasonably bleak and woody, not all kinds of erroneous blue tiles and what not, no gaudy colors. Nice set!
I would have loved if they had thrown in a small long boat (laketown style) and a couple more figures and bumped the price up to $150. As it is, I'll happily fork over $130 and add my own longboat.
Interesting, personally I really like the rope bridge as it removes the normal cluttered and flat perspective and adds a level of height and space which is often hard to achieve in sets of this size. Personally I really like the added dimension it brings. This is a beautiful little set.
I think this set looks wonderful and it's the set I'm most excited about getting this year from everything they've released. This is my Lion's Knight Castle in that it's going to be my big, centerpiece display set and that I can afford it. :D Also, it feels like it will pair great with the 3 in 1 Viking Ship I was fortunate enough to have already picked up.
Cant wait for the moc creators publish a instructions for bigger villages build with 2x or 3x this set, i already bought the boat, have like 7x CMF viking, just must buy more helmets and shields from lego bricks and pieces
Amazing value for this set. I don’t usually get non-licensed sets as I don’t really have any nostalgia for classic Lego themes but I got this one. It can pass as a $200 set, amazing it’s only $130. There’s nothing really like this set at that price point. Thinking how this would look with the Medieval Blacksmith or Viking Ship set.
Lovely details, but I would've personally liked the set a lot more if they'd left out the tower/watchtower part and used those parts to make a bigger longhouse. A viking longhouse is supposed to be BIG, and this one feels just too small for a building that should house a lot of people having a feast.
very good and detailed review, thank you! I bought this set (for less than 100) and it really is a step in the right direction... eves though i keep explaining to my kids, that vikings have never been stupid enough to wear horns on their helmets ;) greetings from europe!
Seems every fall I get the urge to splurge on all the sets I’ve been eyeing since last winter. And consequently, my Jang consumption goes way up. Love the channel, been coming back here for years as needed lol
Best companion set for this would be 7016. And I know most people won't have it. But the boat is small. Has a small Wyvern with it that you can perch on the tall tower. I got all of the Viking line from back in the day so I have no problem adding more inhabitants. But you are right that 4 figures is too few. If you don't have any vikings then you are really looking at the bare minimum. And for such a beautiful set that is a shame.
That is a really well-done, nice and cozy little Viking village. I love how that window is done on the back of the longhouse, using a short lattice fence piece sideways to make a narrow window. I never would've thought of that. I love the rope bridge and watch tower and I'm glad it's there. I'm surprised it's only $130! Yeah extra figures or even a small boat would've been nice.
I'm super optimistic for the dark blue legs. They might be a viable add-on to the Crown knights. It's also interesting to see pteruges printed on them. They're similarly ahistorical to the horned helmets, but instead of being a relatively modern anachronism they're a medieval one (classicizing in art often brought ancient Hellenic/Hellenistic styles into contemporary artwork, with pteruges being one of the main culprits). This set is one I've been looking forward to getting my hands on. I've been planning to get it once the Majisto GWP goes live. The lamellar torso makes for an excellent core for a medieval Roman soldier, and the included spectacle helmet is a decent piece of headgear for the same. Just swap in some dark red arms and legs and give the minifig a mace, spear, or recurve bow and you've got a surprisingly authentic medieval Roman.
Already built this set. I love it and was my favorite build by far. The value of $130 was well worth it, especially compared to other sets I have like the Great Pyramid which was the same price. I would say that adding a kid would have made this an A+ tier set. Or even a small version of a boat as pictured in the instruction manual's preamble would have elevated it even more. Love love love this set.
Absolutely gorgeous set. I hope this leads to some smaller Vikings sets in the future, I'd happily buy one of the buildings in this as its own small set.
You know they really invested in prints lately. Especially when it comes to Castle as well as Vikings. I am betting that there is more coming be it as a Castle theme or some Icon sets. Look at the Blacktron cruiser. It is all stickers. So there is hope that they do it. And make more of the themes.
This set looks bigger in person, and for my money is one of the best valued sets LEGO has made in a long time. With how much there is in the set, exclusive prints, and with over 2,100 parts, LEGO could have been justified in charging $150-$175 USD but it's only $130.
Loving the review, Jang! Got the set in the mail on Tuesday and can’t wait to get building! I promised myself I would ‘t build any more sets before I’m done redecorating our LEGO-room, but have a feeling that’ll be hard…😬
Great review 👍, thanks! I got this on day one at the LEGO store but I’ve been putting off building it but now I’m gonna definitely have to get on this. Thanks for giving me the initiative!
tbh i think not having a second face on the redhead is good for being able to put a helmet on her. the vikings included are very swappable, as you mentioned, and having only one alternate face between them actually heightens that
Great set! Great review! Maybe could've used 1 or 2 more figs. And MAYBE a small fishing boat, or even a longship would have been a great addition to it!
I mightve gotten your missing 1 by 2 because I have an extra one that looked and looked and couldn't figure if I missed it somewhere. Also mine was missing bag 14 altogether but every bag since bag 5 had all the pieces from bag 14 in them, first time anything like that has had happened to me.
Oh what Lego and Bethesda could have done with Skyrim kits back in the day... looks awesome and Skyrim-like enough though to appeal in that direction too though :)
Got the viking ship earlier this year. Its a lovely thing, and I woulrnt mind getting kore viking figures for it. But the village isnt really grabbing me. Looks lovely though
I'm glad the price to part ratio is as good as it is, because this set is incredibly sparse for 2100+ pieces. It looks really good, but I think I'll pass on it, just doesn't have the same charm as other ideas sets have had (Winnie the Pooh and Barracuda Bay especially)
Thanks Jan for commenting on the helmets, I don't mind Lego using this two-horned design on their (brilliant) set, but indeed it is completely imaginary and created for storytelling purposes. Actual vikings were not known to wear such accessories, although drinking horns were a thing!
is it just me or the original one was a bit more "dark" and "viking", like it came out of GOT whereas this one instead (with all these funny mini figure faces) is a bit more like a ... village?
Honestly? I think this set lacks "soul"... i dont know, the minifigures look ordinary and out of place, they feel like they found the pieces laying around and got them together to build X quantity of minifigures. The overall look is boring too, just two or three colors, and some of them look the same. It would be better if they made it bigger so they could fit a "house" inside a cave instead of just houses. Im not sad its not going to be sold at amazon or other sites... some people might not be happy about how hard to find this set will be, but honestly? I doubt they would be missing much. I know a lot of people liked it.. i just didnt. I wish i did. I miss sets that dont look the same, and this feels boring.
Love it. Appreciate that they went to the next level with the minifig prints and accessories, that was a weak point of the otherwise nice creator castle and viking sets.
Your reviews are always a joy, Jang. I’m in full support of you slowing down the reviews if it leads to you enjoying the hobby more, but it’s always fun to see you review these more ‘special’ sets. Thanks for all your hard work!
One CMF figure had a (different color) Mjolnir with a print previously. Looking forward to comments about this large & highly detailed 2100+ piece set!
i like how The Viking Village costs $10 more than The Viking Ship, but has 1000 more pieces including tons of printed pieces.
What an amazing time to be a kid Lego fan! Imagine the "vikings vs pirates" battles that are occurring all over the world this very moment!
I believe not that many, since there are no cheaper sets to get a couple of Vikings or pirates, just $100+ sets aimed at those who really did enjoy those waves when they were kids.
Surely this set is a step in the right direction, it’s not too expensive while offering very good value for these days standards.
only a wealthy one though, no pirate or vikings sets under $120 if I'm not mistaken
Rich kids maybe
I am a big fan of this scale and I love the idea of building small villages like this. I am more than happy to add a custom boat build and I am lucky enough to have other vikings to go with this so overall I am quite happy with this one. Nice to get a substantial set at a reasonable price too.
Good review. I really like that they kept the color scheme reasonably bleak and woody, not all kinds of erroneous blue tiles and what not, no gaudy colors. Nice set!
Those staggered natural stone stairs near the right are so clean and well-done 👌
I would have loved if they had thrown in a small long boat (laketown style) and a couple more figures and bumped the price up to $150. As it is, I'll happily fork over $130 and add my own longboat.
This is a really nicely detailed set! And it’s nice to see studs on the floor for minifigs!
Interesting, personally I really like the rope bridge as it removes the normal cluttered and flat perspective and adds a level of height and space which is often hard to achieve in sets of this size. Personally I really like the added dimension it brings. This is a beautiful little set.
I always enjoy watching your Lego reviews while building Lego myself. Thanks for making such enjoyable content!
It would be a nice surprise to see expansions released so the village grows. I love the set!
What a lovely set. Especially for fans of the Vikings tv show. Definitely looks like kattegat was used for some inspiration
The bridge would make more sense if the tower it goes to was on a little island and there was a stretch of water underneath it.
Just a frienfdly reminder, the viking helmets (hornless) are curently available on PAB - a part of Lego site where you can order pieces!
i love how the lady viking in blue is literally LAGERTHA from Vikings😂white hair, shield, axe and everything
It looks like a pro level Moc very interesting design.
So keen for this set! Might even MOC it into a Rohan-style build from LOTR
Cant wait for the moc creators publish a instructions for bigger villages build with 2x or 3x this set, i already bought the boat, have like 7x CMF viking, just must buy more helmets and shields from lego bricks and pieces
I adore the natural rock staircase. The detail and scale for 130 is amazing!
Pretty cool build. Kids would love it, but without a boat, it seems lacking as a playset.
Going to put this with the longboat even though it's a creator set.
I want to buy this almost solely for the price! Just to show LEGO that for the right price, everyone can still be happy!
Those prints on the reddish brown 1x4 tiles would make nice substitutes for anyone eager to recreate the Green Grocer modular.
I’m in the middle of Battle for Skandia (Ranger’s Apprentice), and want this set so much more than I usually would because of that.
I bought it on day 1. Awesome set for display, I wish there was more sets to create a bigger village
“Somehow JANGBRiCKS returned”
As a self-professed Viking buff, the historical inaccuracies pain me, especially since Lego is a Danish company!
Nice shields, though.
I had so many fun experiences with the Viking sets as a kid. So happy it’s back
I like the bridge, 10 year old me would definitely have figures sword fighting each other on it.
They really need to continue the Viking theme with sets of this quality. Perhaps a few $20 small sets of lower quality.
I bought it together with the Viking ship to have more mini figures and looks amazing together
Always love your detailed reviews❤
Amazing value for this set. I don’t usually get non-licensed sets as I don’t really have any nostalgia for classic Lego themes but I got this one. It can pass as a $200 set, amazing it’s only $130. There’s nothing really like this set at that price point. Thinking how this would look with the Medieval Blacksmith or Viking Ship set.
A gorgeous set, and the price is ridiculously good. I'm only bummed I don't have the space for it
Lovely details, but I would've personally liked the set a lot more if they'd left out the tower/watchtower part and used those parts to make a bigger longhouse. A viking longhouse is supposed to be BIG, and this one feels just too small for a building that should house a lot of people having a feast.

This is the best LEGO set in years. It's nice looking (which many are), but also reasonably priced, which almost none are.
With the lodge prints, I could see them used for a LOTR Golden Hall...
Seems every fall I get the urge to splurge on all the sets I’ve been eyeing since last winter. And consequently, my Jang consumption goes way up. Love the channel, been coming back here for years as needed lol

Cool set, and great review. Would be a extra special one, if shown with that 3-1 Longboat together.
This set is gorgeous!
Been waiting for this video ever since I saw this set announced
I’m in love with it. But crikey! In Australia it’s AU$209.00.
Yeah extra figures or even a small boat would've been nice.
looks awesome, I skipped on release as I decided to secure my holidays sets, think I'll get this on Black Friday or something, great review!!
Fantastic set. So full of character. A triumph in design.
Is nice to see the Super Star Destroyer in the background again.
Hey Jang, thank you for your continued efforts on your content. Always a pleasure to watch.
I'm super optimistic for the dark blue legs. They might be a viable add-on to the Crown knights. It's also interesting to see pteruges printed on them. hi jang
do you think there will be more viking village ?
i.e. regular houses, barn, small fishing boat, etc ?
Who knows as he's said on stream Lego is unpredictable however this was Lego Ideas so at this point a one off.
Im not Jang but I dont think they will make more. There is already a viking ship to add to the village though

YAY! New Jang content! :)
Loving the review, Jang! Got the set in the mail on Tuesday and can’t wait to get building! I promised myself I would ‘t build any more sets before I’m done redecorating our LEGO-room, but have a feeling that’ll be hard…😬
I was literally looking for this video, 30 minutes before it was released lol
Fascinante set. Thanks for the enjoyable review, Jan!
I just picked this set up. So glad to see a review from the great Jang
Great review 👍, thanks! I got this on day one at the LEGO store but I’ve been putting off building it but now I’m gonna definitely have to get on this. Thanks for giving me the initiative!

Hopefully I can find this in a Target alternative shop (don’t have Target in my country). It looks so refined and spacious.
Great set and great review...thanks for all you do Jang!
Great set! Great review! Maybe could've used 1 or 2 more figs. And MAYBE a small fishing boat, or even a longship would have been a great addition to it!
Looks fantastic awsome review jang
This set kind of reminds me of Dale from the Hobbit
I love your video content, i truly enjoy it
been very eager to hear your take on this one, sir
Really weird to not include any kind of Viking boat in a set with so much water.
Jang is the best, Jang is the best, clap if you know that Jang is the best. (Clap, clap.)
Very cool set!
We really need httyd sets
I mightve gotten your missing 1 by 2 because I have an extra one that looked and looked and couldn't figure if I missed it somewhere. Also mine was missing bag 14 altogether but every bag since bag 5 had all the pieces from bag 14 in them, first time anything like that has had happened to me.
Great review as always!
Thank you
Thanks for a great vid!! Thinking of getting this set for sure. Also where did you get that T-shirt?
I can't wait too busy it at Target 😂😂😂🎉🎉
Oh what Lego and Bethesda could have done with Skyrim kits back in the day... looks awesome and Skyrim-like enough though to appeal in that direction too though :)
Got the viking ship earlier this year. Its a lovely thing, and I woulrnt mind getting kore viking figures for it. But the village isnt really grabbing me. Looks lovely though
I don't think the rock pieces are ugly.
I just grabbed this on sale.🎉
That set does look cool!
I'm glad the price to part ratio is as good as it is, because this set is incredibly sparse for 2100+ pieces. It looks really good, but I think I'll pass on it, just doesn't have the same charm as other ideas sets have had (Winnie the Pooh and Barracuda Bay especially)
Looks kind of like a really small Rivendell 😂
I wonder if it's some of the same designers
They overused the gold accents but other than the that the set is nice.
Thanks Jan for commenting on the helmets, I don't mind Lego using this two-horned design on their (brilliant) set, but indeed it is completely imaginary and created for storytelling purposes. Actual vikings were not known to wear such accessories, although drinking horns were a thing!
I think it’s copper mine
is it just me or the original one was a bit more "dark" and "viking", like it came out of GOT whereas this one instead (with all these funny mini figure faces) is a bit more like a ... village?
Vikimg
Every 20 bucks should be a minifigure, and every 100 includes a bonus minifigure. So this set should have 7 imo.
Theres a fundamental flaw in this build, no viking ship! Thats the main thing that made vikings successfull, they had fast well balanced ships
I don't' like the tree. That's my only complaint.
Honestly? I think this set lacks "soul"... i dont know, the minifigures look ordinary and out of place, they feel like they found the pieces laying around and got them together to build X quantity of minifigures.

I know a lot of people liked it.. i just didnt. I wish i did. I miss sets that dont look the same, and this feels boring.
Weak set. More mini figs would have been a big plus… all the Viking lore games etc these days… big let down
Such a dull boring looking set
Love it. Appreciate that they went to the next level with the minifig prints and accessories, that was a weak point of the otherwise nice creator castle and viking sets.
I like this set very much. A goat would have been nice... 🐐
Been waiting for this one! Great set! Kind of reminds me of the mk team hideout with the blacksmith and taller structure.
Your reviews are always a joy, Jang. I’m in full support of you slowing down the reviews if it leads to you enjoying the hobby more, but it’s always fun to see you review these more ‘special’ sets. Thanks for all your hard work!
Perhaps the copper from the mine is what the blacksmith uses to add details to weapons and armor.
