Sevika was with Vander earlier, before she said that he "looked weak" in the bar and stomped off with some other guys, and obviously joined Silco instead. Hence "traitor".
For the record, this is not the first time they mention the Arcane. I think the first was Heimerdinger to Viktor in chapter 2. When Viktor asked him to make it stable he said something like "no, the Arcane is far too dangerous".
It was to Jayce, when Heimer went to visit him before the trial and Jayce told him about his discovering: [...] Jayce: .- I believe I've discovered something truly incredible. A way to harness magic through science. Heimer: .- Magic? J: .- Yes! H: .- No J: .- No? H: .- The Arcane is dangerous, Jayce. A force of nature [...]
@@kaijingarou6526 Well, unless they change the original lore, the Arcane is in esseance a little more complex and it should be based on the World Runes. However, the way the series shows the "Arcane" during Viktor's experiments looks more like Void magic, if that's even a thing
"What's with the romance all of a sudden" Hmm... I think it may not be smart for you guys to react to this show only once a week. It's clear you're completely missing info that was clearly shown in previous episodes. In the last episode, Mel clearly indicated she was interested in Jayce to her assistant. She sleeps with him for ulterior motives. Arcane was mentioned by Heimerdinger when Jayce said he discovered how to make magic through science. Sevika was the lady who got her arm destroyed when trying to save Silco in episode 3, and in a previous episode she called Vander weak, she was clearly a follower of Vander at the time, hence "traitor"
28:50 Sevika was originally on Vander's side. They don't really dive much into this but there are several gangs in the undercity. Sevika and the others were under Vander's wing, who rules throughout the Lanes. His gang was the biggest and healthiest, more like a big family, but I guess still a gang. Sevika was part of the group that lost faith in Vander and left him to fight along Silco. She called him weak in episode 2. There you have your "filthy traitor" meaning, what makes perfect sense.
Well, it doesn't make 'perfect sense' because Sevika never 'betrayed' Vander. She very clearly walked away from Vander that day. But yeah you can see why Vi is angry.
@@govind.m86 She was with Silco when Vi was trying to break Vander out. She was helping Silco kill Vander and his kids. Trying to kill your leader is about as traitorous as it gets.
Glad to see you enjoying it guys, but I'd recommend watching things closer together so you can remember key things in future. I swear half of Arcane reactions are people just straight not remembering things happening earlier in the season lol
Come one guys she looks nothing like Caitlyn. Even the tone of blue is pretty different but let's not forget they're clearly in a forest when Jinx lived and lives in the undercity.
@KaijinGarou it has been painfully obvious since episode one they don't really pay attention or care about this series. Way too much going on for them apparently. Im a big fan of them and I seriously don't understand the drop in reaction quality from most of their series' to this one.
@@bradleyhall4315 Well I like their reactions and the fact they put most of the episode in it. They say they're liking it much so far and look interested. The thing is being 3 can help you brainstorm and get better predictions or start joking with the pals and miss half the content even if you're into it.
43:50 Actually I really doubt Vander was the one to name Powder. When Vi and Powder's parents died, she was already too old not be named yet. In fact there is a scene in the next episode that confirms this.
They've mentioned the Arcane before back in episode 2 so it's not something new. Also there was no corruption involved in that shooting match, Grayson just wanted Catlyin to win.
your edits are actualy crazy, i love. its so varied so it never gets boring and as a viewer you are really able to follow the story easily as well. great job guys, gotta watch more of your reactions in the future
02:30 fun fact Caitlyn actually was created before Jinx, Caitlyn was realesed in 2011 and Jinx in 2013 so it's more like Jinx look like Caitlyn but I understand that for you it's the other way around because you met Jinx first
Caitlyn is half-asian and she looks half-asian. I would not say she looks much like jinx at all except for their hair both being shades of blue, but pretty different shades.
I don't really think they wanted to make Silco and Jinx relationship romantic in any way. I think they wanted to create strange behaviors in a relationship, not necessarily romantic but too weird to be that of a father and daughter.
One thing that i wanna add to the discussion is about Jinx scene with the boxing machine. It shows one flaw of Jinx, she comparing herself with Vi. She got second place, Jinx only see it as "i'm below her" but she did manage to get to second place in her first try, unlike Vi, who we saw how many scores she has. Also in episode 1, with Mylo line "you were twice the persok at half her age" while Vi talked with Powder later, both reconcile, it can't be denied that the line have an effect on how Jinx sees herself, as someone not as good as her sister. Edit: 6:41 She did, at the end of this episode, how to harvest the power of the crystal.
The way I understand the term Arcane: it's a force of nature. It doesn't come from anywhere, it just exists. Everyone on the council knows it (showed in episode 2), but also knows to not mess with it. The best metaphor I can think of is gravity or magnetic force in real life. You know a magnet sticks to metal since you're little, but you can hardly explain why or where this force come from. Of course this Arcane appears to be a lot more dangerous and unstable than gravity or magnetic force.
Silco's second in command is Sevika. That's why Vi went for her and asked her about Powder during the fight. You are reaching the final of the second arc. Prepare yourselves for the final arc.
For me, Jinx is more like the Joker himself than Harley, but maybe it's because I already watched the whole season. I guess it's easier to picture her like Harley at this point and Silco as the Joker. I definitely never saw the resemble between Silco and the Joker by himself, but I can understand it in his connection with Jinx. If you ask me right now, I find Jinx way better written than Harley and, in any case, resembles me to the Joker (in the Arcane version at least) and Silco is nothing alike.
Heteronormativity. Man + woman interacting together = Them being a couple for most people. Nevermind the fact that when we see Caitlyn for the first time with Jayce in episode 2 it's clear that Caitlyn is a teen and Jayce a grown man who is stated to be 24. Heteronormativity is the reason why people think they are a couple when all that was shown is that they are friends and have a sister/brother relationship. And why many people don't get that Vi and Caitlyn are lesbians even after this episode couldn't make it more obvious
Vander and Grayson's relationship wasn't equal either. It was skewed in Piltover's favour but Grayson was simply willing to work with Vander as equals. However as we saw, once trouble happened, even Grayson couldn't stop Enforcers from entering the undercity and randomly harass everyone. Compared to the present where a Zaunite killed 6 Enforcers (way worse situation) and yet the Enforcers don't have the same freedom to walk into the undercity. The relationship is now fairly skewed in Zaun's favour.
I expect this episode to make Adam clear his mind about choosing between Vi and Jinx. Since Vi doesn't seem to be really into guys, it should be much more easier for him to pick. I'm still going with Vi xD, they're both cartoons so sexual preferences don't really lower the chances much more anyway.
They're great dudes, I'm not blaming them specifically just complaining about the trend I've been seeing but man is it depressing that in 2022 people can watch a character who's so obviously struggling on screen and exclaim "woah, what a psycho, she's crazy she's like Harley Quinn, you know I love insane chicks!" etc. That's just.. not it at all and Harley Quinn being the blueprint for this attitude of "crazy girls are cool and badass " is frustrating as hell because while she may not be the best representation she still could not have been more obviously a survivor whose issues should not be idealised.. a sad mess of public perception failings
"From the dead?" Revealing that Silco really did think Vi was gone and wasnt actually lying to Jinx when he said that to her in the last episode.
Sevika was with Vander earlier, before she said that he "looked weak" in the bar and stomped off with some other guys, and obviously joined Silco instead. Hence "traitor".
