what's your favorite kpop mv? *apologizing in advance for the lack of red velvet, loona and ateez, I don't think I could do more than 14 minutes but if you guys like this video I'd looove to do a part 2....let's not forget everything odd eye circle did for us...
TXT's mv always surprises me. like the storyline, the beauty, the acting everything is still new to me. i love how it always have some meaning rather than other mvs
@@nctiddy Even if it is a bside Frost got to be one of the prettiest music videos ever. Like the scenery is so beautiful and the music video is full of lore. Also talking about lore Loona also have lots of beautiful videos.
@@nctiddy no wonder when other kpop groups could only chart their title tracks , txt is charting all the album's songs on Melon , Circle Chart , FLO, Genie , Bugs. Taehyun also said that they don't put less effort on the b sides and work hard as much as they did on the title tracks which results in their bsides coming out to be masterpieces.
Ditto has such a nostalgic feeling. I just got out of school, and i still remember my last year. The weird dancing girls in masks, trolling the teacher, young love, friends, etc. It just made leaving the school more sadder when i was in such a sad phase where you just didn't have anyone or anything and you just saw everyone enjoying. The feeling of happiness wasn't felt. I was ignored. It hurted, and ditto reminded me of that bad, lonely feeling. Maybe in future, i get friends.
the stop motion style of Nap of a Star mixed with the story being told through the visuals and the heavenly song in the background... it's not just an MV it's ART. same with Eternally and especially Taehyun's part, i don't even fully understand what it means (LMAO) but i feel like crying every time i watch it because of how beautifully symbolic it is. TXT's MVs are the best of the best
I’m so pulled in by txt's magic. Nap of a star will 100% forever remain one of my favorite music videos, it’s so whimsical and emotional, it gets me every time. Eternally inspires me so much, too. Especially the scene with Yeonjun in the middle of a flower field in the dark, the purple and white colors, the way the blood is purple too and how the colors melt together into a kind of pond… I was speechless watching it the first time
That yeonjun scene in eternally is insanely beautiful how does one even think of that image and then executes it to perfection I wanna have a brain like that
i know they’re not kpop, but ive recently been really obsessed with xg’s “shooting star” music video. it’s such a visual feast & every piece of clothing feels like im finding an Easter egg.
i think my favorite txt music video is definitely “blue hour” and “drama Japanese ver.” the Japanese version of drama just captures the song’s meaning so well & it’s hilarious.
Finally the appreciation that obsession needed. The concept was so well thought out (I mean they made a new exo ig for their evil counterparts) and the mv reflected that so well
I agree a lot especially with TXT and TBZ. Nap of a Star has been my favorite MV along with Run away for as long as I've been a MOA I think the story and cinematic quality that TXT are able to invoke is incredible especially with their usage of lighting and I appreciate it so much and finally a Maverick lover 🙌🏻 Maverick has been a fave MV and my fave TBZ MV since it came out the theming, story, and camera work is spot on 🤌🏻✨ Anyway great vid sis you're always here to represent the tasteful of us 😪
I love it when kpop groups have lore😭 There's just something abt a MV feeling like a mini cinematic experience fr. EXO MV are by far at the top of my list, alongside RV. My other faves are ATEEZ guerilla, BTS run and the dream hello future
Ditto is awesome. One of the best music videos i've watched and the dreamcore vibes are immaculate. It's very authentic and it creates a sense of unease filled with nostalgia and strangely, comfort. It's awesome. I'm also a design student, but my school focuses more on storytelling and my fav kpop mv is the one for Side Effect. The colors are perfect, the mv supports the song AND the choreo, the lighting and effects are gorgeous and the first screen with the guys laughing and the bus is just perfect with this angsty intro in the background that tells you "no we're not fine" and that follows during the full song and I love this paradox. I have goosebumps every time I watch it TwT
Nct limitless rough version and Simon says is good too. I also love ateez Guerilla’s MV. I’m not an atiny but I love the use of halftones and the styling and lighting.
@@nctiddy I agree. The creative direction was really strong. Btw I love your channel so much! I’m in art school right now so I like seeing kpop and art/design discussion videos.
knowing that the boyz are potentially continuing the comeback concept from MVK and probably Whisper for their next comeback is making me excited. HausofTeam also participating again with them after not participating in Whisper made it even more better coz now we can expect a MOVIE like how they did with MVK. I'm beyond excited!
@@nctiddy I LOVE IT! I liked Whisper but Roar is MILES better than Whisper. The song, the styling, the choreo, THE MUSIC VIDEO (*screams* finally IST gave them back to HausofTeam). EVERYTHING is so good. It just shows that when you prepare and NOT rush it, it comes out great. Out of all the things, production and styling was the most evident that got so much better compared to Whisper
sooo happy u did this video bc i feel like the concept of the music video has gotten so watered-down in the industry probably due to over-saturation, a lack of heart, and quick cash grabs. so whenever i find a visual piece that makes it obvious that a creative had a vision and went to artistic lengths to make it the best it could be, i get so inspired! i think newjeans have the potential to create a shift in the art of the kpop music video when it comes to complexity, quality, and care & i’m here for it. russian roulette by red velvet is my all-time favourite bc who else is giving u attempted-murder-but-make-it-quirky-and-cute? right. srsly loved this video (WE NEED A PART TWO!) and ur picks were excellent as always
ughh so frustrating I actually got a bit upset watching nct 127’s ay-yo bc I couldn’t believe this was the same group that has music videos like cherry bomb, limitless and kick it under their belt like come onnnn sm…time can’t always be on our side but I still think music videos are a great way to bring a title track to life, hate when good songs get wasted on mediocre sets and camerawork :( and I would love love to make a part two I wanna talk about red velvet 🥹🥹
I'm late but omg u finally found out abt Lexie Liu, I remember mentioning her in the comments back when u used to make monthly playlist videos and even under the community post for when u ranked your subscribers playlists. I have been obsessed with her from back in her 88 rising days, run away was my intro to her and since then she's been my most streamed artist T_T

also shoutout to Free Somebody by Luna, which is not my personal favorite stylistically but is absolutely one of the most unique and delightfully creative mvs I’ve ever seen
nap of the start is still my comfort kpop song it's always my go to whenever i can't sleep paired with don't forget by ikon and goodnight dear by youngK.
since this is an appreciation video, i just wanna say i can't believe we don't get to see the creative process of how these music videos came about. like i was watching love dive behind the scenes to see if i could find anything, but there's literally only shots of the members like can these ppl please tell us how the video came to fruition??? we never ever hear from the directors, choreographers, set designers, creative directors, stylists, etc. and if they do speak about it, it's usually in an interview with not many details or an instagram post :( what i'm saying is "behind the scenes" content needs to start being 30mins long with time equally spent on both the creatives and idols.
you read my mindddd, kind of like how sm showed all the meetings around seulgi’s 28 reasons, they literally talked about what they wanted the music video to look like the concept the inspiration, although we only got to see seulgi’s beautiful face during the meetings but even that is cool with me I just want a bit more insight into how the idea for it all came about
All of those are my favourites! The boyz are just on another level, their MVs never dissapoint. I love New Jeans OMG and Ditto as well, their and TXTs storylines are so captivating. Also SRR kinda reminds me of Ko Ko Bop bcs they all look high asf 😭 EXO's Monster and Obsession is top tier, I looove dark concepts from them! And finally someone mentioned Sticker! It's their best comeback in terms of visuals
so many favorite mvs I could talk about (every taemin mv, every svt mv, eunbi glitch, fifty fifty lovin me, which I am obsessed with and has similar vibes to ditto). and I have trouble choosing ults of any kind but for mvs it is unquestionably shinee good evening. so fucking beautifully done, so expressive, I am not qualified to say a word about it just watch it.
Thank you so much for mentioning EXO ㅠㅠ kpop fans use to forget about them since their are not promoting because of military service. Most of their videos are my favorite ones: obsession, monster, lotto, sing for you... simply perfect
Great video, tbz content + lexie liu in intro, your taste is immaculate. I honestly have a lot of hope for tbz comeback, I don't know what you think about the trailer but I loved it. I was getting scared that IST gave up on giving us an interesting concept and visuals. We'll just have to wait and see if they can follow up.
Two of my favourite mvs in kpop are lovelyz’s ah choo and candy jelly love, the use of symetric cinematpgraphy, pastels colors, and its bizarre melancholic abstraction are clearly a reference to new order’s blue monday which is also one of the inspirations that had onepiece in creating their 80s synthpop sound. Trully adorable, weird, melancholic and dreamy mvs.
my favorite mv would be red velvet’s automatic. It was just quintessential 2000s rnb aesthetic like woah it gagged me so much 😭 also adding in feel my rhythm. it was a love letter to art and history nerds like me 🥹 from the teasers, physical album design, the songs on the album, paying homage to ballet in the choreography, and especially the mv like AAAAAKANSUSSNSK
I could make a thirty minute video on red velvet alone I could cryyyyy the team around red velvet is always so creative and you can tell the love they put into every frame 😭😭😭
Yes yes yes on the feel my rhythm mv! Everything about it is beautiful! Another one from red velvet i enjoy is ice cream cake. Even though it's not an mv with a storyline or anything, i still enjoy it because it makes me smile.
Oh also I feel like some of BTS's MVs will always remain among my favourites, like fake love has so many great symbolic moments, as well as spring day, and idol was just such a new explosion of colors and frankly trippiness to me, dope with its one-shot-look was my introduction to them, black swan is a masterpiece… I could probably think of more but these came to mind first :)
So glad someone appreciates in sees what I see in the boyz! They’re always so strong with their theming and this fallen angel concept for the latest cb is looking even bigger and better esp with the small tie ins to maverick and whisper, they’ve never done lore or a continued storyline so I’m both excited and scared. The trailer was well done to have me guessing for the mv.
the fallen angel concept is making me super excited for the comeback I honestly thought whisper didn’t rlly embody the angel concept well enough but this time I think they’re going all out again
@@nctiddy same it was obviously rushed which kinda hurt the storyline imo, i think the cute bubbly style could've still been done if executed better n properly fleshed out from teasers to stage outfits
yes yes yes I have SO many thoughts. the sticker mv appreciation. they said neo culture cowboys and proceeded to execute that concept so exquisitely. also the monster appreciation - the dinner table set is unparalleled but few things can make me feel the way that first blue-and-pink dancing shot when the chorus comes in does. and I genuinely think the airplane hangar shot, where you just get their silhouettes, is also an act of genius - it’s simple but draws your focus to the dancing so so perfectly.
yesssss all of these!! Move is… I mean, the most iconic of them all, thunderous is maybe my fav use ever of animation in K-pop, and I have recently been obsessed with the lovin’ me mv - I have like a whole ass essay abt it in my notes app 😭
I would like to talk about Russian Roulette. That mv had me in a chokehold. I did an entire graphic design unit on the album and concept. The mv is so bright and colourful and perfectly contrasts the acts of the video. The shot where Irene is ‘chosen’ is still in my mind every time I think of the plot. The editing is kinda ‘retro’ without feeling dated. It’s iconic, you can pinpoint multiple looks and scenes just by watching it once. It doesn’t overshadow the song, but compliments so nicely. Truly the perfect visual representation for me. For me, Russian Roulette is definitely one of my fave kpop mvs and almost always the first in my head when asked that question. Other ones from the top of my head are Crossroads (gfriend), BS&T + Spring Day (BTS), One of these nights + Bad Boy (Red Velvet) and Gashina (Sunmi)
HERES SOME OF MY FAVES I CAN THINK OF AT THE TOP OF MY HEAD yeojin - kiss later 1/3 - love & live (the setting, storyline, & lighting gives off this 90s anime feeling. idk how they got it just right but they did & i love watching it) chuu - heart attack (another fun music video my only gripe is that it’s dark as hell. i understand why they chose it bc she’s apart of the dark unit but my god pay ur light bill) kep1er - up! (i don’t understand how u could hate this music video, it’s fun & campy & every rewatch i find something new to focus on. not only that, but the girls look especially gorgeous. ppl calling it cheap have ZERO fucking idea how much work these designers put into mvs like this) stayc - stereotype (it’s basically a barbie movie comprised into a music video) ive - after like (i can’t explain how much i absolutely love this music video. the camera work is soooo fucking good & i love the “commercial” concept)
My favorite music video is Ateez Treasure🧡 Honorary mention to Wave! Also Illusion, Answer, Wonderland, Guerrilla and Halazia specially, is extremely good, although didn't chose them bc my favorites are bright sunny outdoor MVs 😊
@@nctiddyHehe I know you would want to include them but I get you there is a lot we could talk about and too little time to do! I honestly would say Wave as my favorite as well but since I had to choose one I said Treasure bc being their debut MV and in such a special place adds to it a lot even if not surpasses the amazing movie quality and editing of Halazia 🥺
Finally someone recognizes the high quality of Sticker MV, it's one of NCT's best mvs, it's so funny and has an interesting concept, also all members got to shine so much in it, Sticker doesn't deserve all the hate smh
I LOVE THE TXT AND EXO STORYLINE hdkdjf my favorites kpop music videos are Obsession, Eternally, run away, blue hour, Tempo, MAMA,I need you by bts Black swan Answer by Ateez inception💔💔 and guerillas. Also Ateez storyline is sooo beautiful and complicated BUT REALLY INTERESSANT. Inception It is original, the colors on white warm colors such as brown and red and blue hair of Hongjoong that contrasts. The Diary Film is a work of art It feels like watching a Netflix series. ANYWAY I love Kpop groups that have a precise storyline like newjeans red velvet kingdom and others❤️❤️
Lol i love sticker as much as other people hate it nct especially 127 represent the neo style so good that they own it to the max and i always love their work
definitely agree with all of the mvs mentioned :D another one of my fav groups when it comes to mvs is cix!! they always have a consistent, well thought out + executed theme and their mvs always manage to look expensive even though they don't have a budget even nearly as big as yg, sm, or even ist,, most notably imo are 'jungle', 'cinema' and '458' :D
Ik this probably doesn't make sense but the ditto mv reminds so much of liminal spaces which are something i discovered not so long ago where basically a place feels very nostalgic but at the same time lonely and eerie, almost creepy. In ditto's case the mv is like the "space" that feels very nostalgic (probably due to the mv taking place in the 90s) yet lonely and creepy (due to the way haesoo is actually alone in the whole mv + all the lore around it). Again, idk if it makes sense but i just found the similarity to be extremely cool, at least to me
one of my favorite kpop mvs is definitely feel my rhythm by red velvet. the concept and styling were so well done ✨ but tbh you could say that for most of their mvs 😭
Ateez - halazia, Guerilla, the real, Answer. BTS - Fake love, black swan, blood, sweat and tears, spring day. Txt- Blue hour, Frost, loser=lover, nap of the star. Stray kids- chilli, venom, thunderous. Nude by (G)idle. I also like sticker video even though I don't like the song.
One my favorite mvs is IVE’s Eleven. It’s just simply beautiful to me. It pleases my eyes and makes me want to watch it again. I also enjoy the japanese version.

I could make a thirty minute video on red velvet alone I could cryyyyy the team around red velvet is always so creative and you can tell the love they put into every frame 😭😭😭
Don’t get me started on feel my rhythm ughhh
@@nctiddy RIGHT LIKE???? FMR, BIRTHDAY, WILDSIDE, AND 28 REASONS LIKE THEIR TEAM DIDNT CAME TO PLAYYYY! 😫😭
Yes yes yes on the feel my rhythm mv! Everything about it is beautiful!
Another one from red velvet i enjoy is ice cream cake. Even though it's not an mv with a storyline or anything, i still enjoy it because it makes me smile.
@@nctiddy still obsessed with the feel my rhythm ep! In my dreams, bamboleo, rainbow halo, oh my god they're all bops
I LOOOOVE MAVERICK MV SO MUCH IT’S LIKE IM WATCHING A MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Spring day is stunnnnning😭
Run another great one, not today I remember watching it and being in awe
@@nctiddy right!
Love your choices! I would add Blood, Sweat and Tears to this!
a MASTERPIECE
My favs are
txt - eternally
Stray kids - thunderous
Fifty fifty - lovin me
Yooa- Bon voyage
J-hope - more
Taemin - move
seventeen - hot
OH TAEMINS MOVE😭
yesssss all of these!! Move is… I mean, the most iconic of them all, thunderous is maybe my fav use ever of animation in K-pop, and I have recently been obsessed with the lovin’ me mv - I have like a whole ass essay abt it in my notes app 😭
everytime i think of the sticker mv i think of haechan?? hitting the mannequin with the cowboy hat & they add a WHIP! sound effect 😭😭
lmaooo it’s so GOODDD
Jungle by CIX is absolutely insane cinematographically, I wish it was mentioned here
My personal facoeite is superhuman by nct. It's just way too good omg.
superhuman appreciation! today and always!
one of my fav kpop mvs of all time is burn it by golden child
HERES SOME OF MY FAVES I CAN THINK OF AT THE TOP OF MY HEAD
yeojin - kiss later
1/3 - love & live (the setting, storyline, & lighting gives off this 90s anime feeling. idk how they got it just right but they did & i love watching it)
chuu - heart attack (another fun music video my only gripe is that it’s dark as hell. i understand why they chose it bc she’s apart of the dark unit but my god pay ur light bill)
kep1er - up! (i don’t understand how u could hate this music video, it’s fun & campy & every rewatch i find something new to focus on. not only that, but the girls look especially gorgeous. ppl calling it cheap have ZERO fucking idea how much work these designers put into mvs like this)
stayc - stereotype (it’s basically a barbie movie comprised into a music video)
ive - after like (i can’t explain how much i absolutely love this music video. the camera work is soooo fucking good & i love the “commercial” concept)
OH and it's not kpop, but i adore stayc's "poppy"
POPPY POPPY POPPY POPPY POPPY POPPY LOVE LOVE
Oh just wait for part 2 you just mentioned all the bangers
Except after like I just can’t get into the vibe of the mv….
My favorite music video is Ateez Treasure🧡
Honorary mention to Wave!
Also Illusion, Answer, Wonderland, Guerrilla and Halazia specially, is extremely good, although didn't chose them bc my favorites are bright sunny outdoor MVs 😊
Ohh wave it beautiful
Guerilla and halazia as well I wish I had more time to edit the video 😭
@@nctiddyHehe I know you would want to include them but I get you there is a lot we could talk about and too little time to do!
I honestly would say Wave as my favorite as well but since I had to choose one I said Treasure bc being their debut MV and in such a special place adds to it a lot even if not surpasses the amazing movie quality and editing of Halazia 🥺
@@nctiddyWait I always forget but Dreamers MV too!! Another sunny outdoors video that is beautiful and always makes me happy😍
Lexie liu as the intro?! taste fr
Frickin love Lexie Liu it’s crazy
Finally someone recognizes the high quality of Sticker MV, it's one of NCT's best mvs, it's so funny and has an interesting concept, also all members got to shine so much in it, Sticker doesn't deserve all the hate smh
thx for promoting lexie liu !!!
Love herrrrr so much her album has been on repeat for many weeks!
@@nctiddy same here ^^
Got so startled when I heard 3.14159 I thought it was my own music… you got such great taste and the cinematography of your vids is interesting too
Thank youu and I’m so happy so many of you recognize the song I’m super into Lexie liu’s music since I discovered her a few weeks ago
AGREE SO MUCH ON ALL OF THEM
personally taemin criminal for me it's up there too. I absolutely love it, it's stunning. And Psycho by red velvet too
criminal is gorgeousss and the fact that taemin worked rlly closely with the team to bring his vision to life makes me even happier, it’s stunning
i really love killing me by ikon and ofc blackswan by bts🧎🏻♀️
unrelated but ur like the only ytber i will genuinely subscribe bc of how you see kpop. i can just agree with you in almost everything
☺️that makes me happy thank you 4 watching!
Lol i love sticker as much as other people hate it nct especially 127 represent the neo style so good that they own it to the max and i always love their work
monster my queen🗣️
definitely agree with all of the mvs mentioned :D another one of my fav groups when it comes to mvs is cix!! they always have a consistent, well thought out + executed theme and their mvs always manage to look expensive even though they don't have a budget even nearly as big as yg, sm, or even ist,, most notably imo are 'jungle', 'cinema' and '458' :D
oh cix always surprise me with how beautiful their music videos are, 458 is stunnnning!!!
Again, idk if it makes sense but i just found the similarity to be extremely cool, at least to me
No I totally understand what you mean and I agree some shots feel exactly like that
one of my favorite kpop mvs is definitely feel my rhythm by red velvet. the concept and styling were so well done ✨ but tbh you could say that for most of their mvs 😭
Also 8turns tic tac mv is pretty good
never seen it before but I’d love to check it out
i immediately ran to yt when i saw that u posted on ur insta story
ur honestly in my top 3 kpop youtubers
Awee💖💖💖
"Today, I want to talk about sticker" I can’t 😂😂
Sick of justifying my love for sticker 😭
Yes nap of a star appreciater
Love love loveeeee
My fav mv of all time is Blood Sweat and Tears by BTS. One of the most beautiful and compelling pieces of visual art I have ever seen.
It has lots of beautiful shots I agree!
Yesss sticker you’ll always be famous 😘
WAITTT NCTIDDY IS A LEXIE LIU STAN!!!!!
YAAAAAS finally !!!
I don’t like sticker as a song, but the mv is amazing. All of the videos are just art.
Ateez - halazia, Guerilla, the real, Answer.
BTS - Fake love, black swan, blood, sweat and tears, spring day.
Txt- Blue hour, Frost, loser=lover, nap of the star.
Stray kids- chilli, venom, thunderous.
Nude by (G)idle.
I also like sticker video even though I don't like the song.
me waiting for ateez, loona, aespa, and bibi like 👁👄👁
Part 2 promiseeee
So pretty
I came here because I was sure I’d find Sticker 🎉 and then I remained for the others
Oh you knew lmaoo yesss

I would love to!
shocked of not seeing 4 walls mv here
It’s only part 1 don’t worry bout it 😵💫
LEXIE LIEUEEEUUEEUE
YEAYEAYEAAAEAEA
One my favorite mvs is IVE’s Eleven. It’s just simply beautiful to me. It pleases my eyes and makes me want to watch it again. I also enjoy the japanese version.
The way it slows down and goes into the chorus is crazyyy, amazing camerawork and editing
i will tolerate absolutely no sticker hate in 2023 🤞
Will you do reaction and opinion on NCTs ay yo ??
I already did share my thoughts on Instagram but I love it!!☺️
It had to grow on me, but still, it's a bop! And i love skyscraper too!
What font is the text of the song titles?
It’s my own handwriting in the style of dpr ian! I used procreate to turn them into gifs☺️
EXO - Love me right
every exo mv is a hit
ONE MINUTE FIFTY FIVE SECONDS SPENT ON NOTHING
