2nd cut 2021 - Mowing Raking Lifting

    My notion of doing our own silage is kind of coming together now 😅
    Usually our neighbour would cut for us with his Kverneland 4032 (10ft trailed with conditioner) but because the crop was light I thought the JF would handle a 13 or 14ft row. So just after rebuilding the bed of our Morra 7ft disc mower (with lots of help from a local mechanic), I used that mower to cut instead.
    Then you can see the rotonde raking up. I only bought that in 2021 so it was on its first season with me here in this video. I bought that because we don't have a conditioner mower to leave rows for the JF and I also knew I'd be looking to buy a round baler the following year so that ruled out a single rotor rake. The rotonde can leave wide rows for the baler and narrow rows for the JF or square baler so it just suits me perfect. It's so much simpler mechanically than a normal cam rake too so I like that about it as well.
    The rest of the video is just the harvester, I've explained all about that before in a description of a different video. It was going very well on the day of this video.
    Our Zetor was drawing as well as a neighbour's Massey on a new second hand trailer I just bought. That was it's first day out in this video. It went very well as well. Takes a lot of grass compared to our previous trailers.

    Really nice to see a 7810 doing proper work, the main shaft has rounded at the back of the flywheel on our one so it’ll have to be split next 🤦‍♂️ also what did ye have on the pit, fine gear btw

    • @WayneMescal
      @WayneMescal  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks. Yeah that was a common problem alright with them. A lot of people ground the shaft down and put a 3/4 drive socket in there and it usually does a good job so I hear. The Renault goes on the pit with a 5 foot wide set of forks on the loader. We got an ex60-2 hitachi there last year as well which went up on the pit as well once or twice. Will try to modify the forks onto the digger this year. I'll try to get a second push off buckrake for the Renault to hand up the grass to the digger when the pit gets tall this year. I'll try to get five minutes off the harvester this year and video that or get someone else to video it for me.

      @@WayneMescal ye have a fair fleet of gear now, I’d love an excavator alright, from reading the other comments and description I couldn’t figure weather you have bought a baler or you are going to? If you are will you be baling some of the silage then once the out is full or something

      @@ORiordan124 yeah there's a baler and wrapper there now but I'll still chop our own first cut with the JF. The baler will be for going out on hire mainly but I'll use it to do our own second cut and our haylage/hay as well.
