So sorry for all the poor animals that suffer and suffered and will suffer because of us... :( if we're concerned about social causes we should be concerned about animals, too. Because we are animals. Such a great video gittemary!!
That’s just really hard to do without ending up with some very superficial conclusions 😬, a summary is hard to do, because there are different aspects of all these certificates and I think it is important to mention them all
I love learning about “sustainable labels” - a lot of them I don’t pay any mind to (ahem, peta) but labels like B certified are actually really helpful for me when I need to decide between 2 different brands
I wasn't a fan tbh. Just like Cowspiracy, it's basically propaganda with loads of accusation and manipulation. I understand that American documentaries often are that way but imho it just gives veganism more of a bad name and there's much better stuff out there that deals with messed up system failures.
@@smirbelbirbel Well, I think they did a great job showing how messed up and bad commercial fishing is and how it destroys the different ecosystems of the sea.
I live where Peta's headquarters are. I dated a guy who worked for them and told me he had to jump in people's backyards and steal their dogs. That article clip you showed is true.
Gurl... you are certainly the Queen of Research on this and many other topics. I appreciate you giving us the scoop on all these labels and certifications... it’s a complicated subject, but an oh-so-important one!! Thank-you for all the work and research that you put into this video and others 🌸🌿🥰
This was such a useful video! It answered a few questions I'd been thinking about. I'd also love to hear you talk a little about the word "organic" and how it can be used in different contexts/on different products.
One of the biggest struggles for me is finding out if/how a product is made more sustainable. It's great to learn more about those (less) helpful certificates. Looking forward to the next ones!
This video is amazing, is basically what I've been wondering for a looooong time. I'm really excited to see the upcoming videos!! And thank you for taking the time to research all of this information and make it understandable for others.
This is fantastic, thank you for your clarity and for covering this topic! I can't tell you how many "leaping bunny"-type images I've seen on products that, on closer inspection, are just in-house copycats. 🤦♀️
This video makes me soo happy! I did an internship at system certification, and boii..these things are really important and your approach to this is great! Can't wait for part 2&3
Fantastic video and Gittemary Johansen we unfortunately live in a materialistic world and that's what causes waste and unsustainability and also what is behind the animal expoiltion industries.
Oh nice! This is really helpful. I've been having some doubts about some of these labels and this video helped cleared some of them. Waiting for those next parts!
LOVE THIS!!! In terms of your question at the end of what we might like you to cover, I’d love you to examine fair trade cocoa certifications? There’s so many fake ass shit out there lol, big brands claiming they’re fair trade or environmentally friendly while still actively engaging in child labour >.
@@Gittemary I know that and it was awesome thank you! :D I just mean the branding that certain chocolate companies try to use specifically, like the other day I read on a chocolate bar it was “sustainable cocoa certified” but I couldn’t find any evidence that they’re at all sustainable or eco friendly, probably a case of green washing 😭
The vegan label is an issue to me because it means the product does not have animal products IN it. However they can test on animals...which is not vegan so... I wish the "vegan" label was replaced by "plant based product" and there was a new "vegan" label that means it BOTH doesn't include animal products AND doesn't test on animals because that would be actually vegan
This is SOOOOO. ON. POINT. I've caught myself buying slightly more expensive fairtrade-certified foods and feeling an ease of conscience, but always with an aftertaste like "what's behind this label"?
After watching seaspiricy I don't know what to beleive about labels anymore. I've tried to look into RSPCA assured, with not much luck. I don't see how any meat product can promote animal welfare if the animal is killed at the end??
Eee the idea that Humane Farms is the bare minimum, wtf are “inhumane farms” doing? Also I sent an email about amazon’s new echo certification. It seems like an in-house certificate though.
I would love to see a video on the impact of Incinerating garbage! My husband thinks it’s an end all be all solution and that we can throw away food that isn’t even bad and don’t need to recycle either.
Can you talk about EU certifications too in the Next ones? Loved this video and would like to see labels that are in my country too
Yes, and some specific labels like Bioland, Naturland, Bio Austria.
Bio Austria I would love to hear about as I live here
Yes eu, has so many labels especially Sweden, too many to understand
I would love to see part 2 and part 3 can’t wait
Coming up 🔥😎👌
Great 🔥😎👌

Maybe at the end of the series you could do a tier list? Just to summarize it.

Seaspiracy acually had some very good information about the MSC label.
Anyone who hasn't watched it yet, should do it right now

It is definitely also a “certification” that I’ll cover 💪🌿
Obsessed and can't wait for part 2-500 😆

I always wondered what exactly the certificates mean so thank you so much for explaining!
So happy to help 😍

Omg thank you. I've been dying for this video. Asked on another channel amd was directed to yours -
thank you for sharing this valuable information!! it is so important to understand what we are supporting as consumers.
Fantastic video and Gittemary Johansen we unfortunately live in a materialistic world and that's what causes waste and unsustainability and also what is behind the animal expoiltion industries.
Valuable details about the up-and downsides of the individual labels 👍
Nice to know that there will be some more videos about this 😀
Really informative video. I love the direction your channel is taking lately, keep up the good work!
Thank you for making this video, I really Appreciate the detailed explanations and that you even list all the resources you used ❤
the “vegetarian friendly” logo on beef instant noodles was 11/10.. 😭😭😭
Thanks for all the research you do. Everyone should know it.
I want to know more about UTZ and Rainforest Alliance certifications 👌
you should watch seaospiricy in Netflix its like wow
Excited for this! Wanna let you know that you left out the r in certifications in the title
Haha oh damn 😂 that’s what I get for trying to multi-task, thanks for letting me know 🙌
You’re a great teacher, thanks for sharing
thank you very much for informative video 😊 btw love your Monstera plant 🤩🤩
So happy that you liked it ☺️🌿
This video is so interesting and informative! So pleased there are going to be a few more! :D
“De-beaking“? Is that a thing?! 😱😨😫😭 nonononononononoooooo
Thanks for this video, it was very helpful.
Thank you so much 🌿🌿
Great content! So informative and easy to listen to! Looking forward to the next videos

This issue with fair trade and child labour is actually brought up in the video 🌿

Great video!! I would like it if you will make a video about CSR.
As follow up for the fishing topic I would really like to learn more about the 'asc' certificate!
I'd like you to include the FSC label and also the German label Blauer Engel :) btw loved your video🤗❣
Very helpful, thank you. I'm trying to be a better human, but it's difficult to navigate everything.
I hope this helps 💪🌿
Amazon now has this “Climate Pledge Friendly “ stamp. Could you include this one next?
+1
This is SOOOOO. ON. POINT. I've caught myself buying slightly more expensive fairtrade-certified foods and feeling an ease of conscience, but always with an aftertaste like "what's behind this label"?
It is great to be critical and reflect upon this as a consumer, sounds like you are in a great track 💪
After watching seaspiricy I don't know what to beleive about labels anymore. I've tried to look into RSPCA assured, with not much luck. I don't see how any meat product can promote animal welfare if the animal is killed at the end??
Can you talk about EWG skin deep verification for personal care products in your future videos on this subject?
I would love you to do certificates of different countries, like Germany. I know that’s probably asking too much, but oh my would this help... ❤️

These shouldn’t even exist, the world lacks empathy and only cares about money
earrly gangggg

you spoke so quickly im not sure i heard it properly did you say the msc was created by unilever?
Yes Unilever and WWF
@@Gittemary oh well doesnt that just depress a human thank you for informing me i did not know x
