Having watched far to many videos of your channel, you have spoken very highly for this one compared to other, much more expensive single malts. Indeed, it is far too good and dangerously sipping. Thank you Horst for the amazing content.
I appreciate all your videos. I always like to watch them after drinking the whisky and writing my own notes, i find it helps me develop my palate. I did pick up a toffee/caramel smell prior to drinking, needs some distance from the glass to smell it and it mixes sort of well with the cinnamon/nutmeg sort of spice you get.
amazing, i am a huge Glenfiddich fan myself so this would be such a great treat to try. i love going to whisky shops and just seeing the epic Glenfiddich displays with all the different expressions.
Its christmas holiday period,we are in carantine and i just opened a bottle of g18 drinking one glass while i watch your videos.....Marry Christmas Horst Glenfiddich 18 is just magic in a bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My bottle of this is 43 percent... still agree a little more alcohol percentage could have helped it. Still a great bottle however and a definite buy for the price at a lower costing 18. I would recommend this bottle to anyone including people new to scotch because it is not too heavy on peat and smoke and is a very smooth dram. Thanks Horst!
I'm currently having a dram from batch 3464. Dates, stewed apple with toffee on the nose. Apple, honey and cinnamon with oak in the background on the palate. A dry ish finish with a lingering flavor of dates and apple pie that goes on and on. This stuff is mouth watering.
this is the best Scotch Ive tried so far. Im glad I got a bottle cause theres no more on the shelves at any store! And here in the US its at 43 percent ABV
I have this, and would consider it a gentleman's drink. Easy, fruity, apple, cinnamon, spices, oak.. one can appreciate this one without spending a lot!
I've about 1/4 bottle of my Glendronach 15 Revival left & hear it's discontinued :( I've already earmarked Glenfiddich 18 year old as my next purchase - If i can find one :)
It started off to keep a just level between the different companies. In our German shop (we don't sell outside Germany) we thought that it would be unfair to recommend some whiskies more than others. If you have a closer look at the ratings of some big tasting icons than you will find some irregularities. Take a look at the ratings of the whiskies of the year in the year before. Sometimes they didn't score that good. How is that possible. As I grow bigger people will accuse me of the same, but as I don't give a rating nobody can buy my opinion. If you need a rating of the whisky you should visit the link in the description and have a look what our community thinks.
@@Whiskycom if you peel off the wrapping / sticker at the neck, does it peel clean off or does it leave like residue aka doesn't peel clean off. And on the whif is the alcohol suppose to be very sharp or very mellow and pleasant
I wonder why Scotland doesn't make its own casks. Is it because they rely so much on the previous contents of the casks they get from the US or Spain for different flavors?

Have batch 3544. One could expect much more from a well matured big-name whisky like this. I feel there is so little going on aroma-wise. No character, no very distinctive notes. The are even very few maturation notes i can pick over time. It definitely suffers from being overly diluted to be in fact a mass product, whatever the label says. Too bad the regular 12 y.o. has once opened my eyes to malts. I haven't enjoyed this one as much as Tobermory 15 i had right before. Probably i have set my expectations too high.
Hi Mr Horst, what DIFFERENCE (if any) did you find from the tasting in this video (ua-cam.com/video/c-qMGMLOvgE/v-deo.html) compared to this new small batch review here?
shitty bottle, to be very honest although i'm a glenfiddich fan. had gotten it from the duty free and was excited to try it, especially after watching this. too strong, bitter after taste, absolutely not enjoyable - if compared to the glenlivet 12 or the dalmore king alexandre for instance
This man is the reason I’m an alcoholic today

What a great Single Malt Scotch! Nice bottle and box too!
Picked up a bottle of this at a premium wine and spirits mart, and I love it! Thank you, Horst, for your suggestion!
I'm currently drinking batch 3107. This is my first Glenfiddich. Absolutely amazing!
You a legend mate
Thanks
Thank you for your review.Such a wonderful bottle.I tasted yesterday here in Portugal.Greetings to all

Does the sticker/ wrapping at the neck peel right off or is it paper ish and won't peel cleanly off? Cause mine doesn't peel cleanly.
Going to pickup a bottle this weekend! Thanks for the review! Cheers 😫
You are the best reviewer of whisky in this world... love & respect from India..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏

Yours was 40% ABV, Horst? I have batch 3152 and it's 43%, and it is wonderful!!!
Thank you for your review
you are welcome
For your information American Bourbon casks are expoted knocked down (ckd) and not sent as empty barrels.
just bought it yesterday, really great, your review helped me decide, thanks!
Very good. I have batch #3441.

Sounds amazing! I wish I had the palate for it… all this stuff tastes like turpentine to me! 😢

I bouth it yesterday, great wiskey! Top 3 of single malts...bowmore 18 top one..
just having batch 3573 with a friend. I preffer 15 years old.
I have this, and would consider it a gentleman's drink. Easy, fruity, apple, cinnamon, spices, oak.. one can appreciate this one without spending a lot!

Great review, just about to open my xmas bottle, batch no 3722👌
A dangerous dram for sure. It's so rich and welcoming; too easy to tear through a $100 bottle.
Does anyone know why the 18yo small batch reserve is cheaper than the standard 18yo? I paid almost the same price of the 15yo
I love watching your tastings. Is there any reason why you don't actually award a review rating at the end of your tasting?

I'm just starting to learn about Whisky, so please pardon my ignorance of certain things. I love the reviews. Thank you.

Exactamundo. The original inhabitants of those casks help to impart all those flavours we love.
MOUTHWATERING VIDEO 😄😄😄
Horst. I perfer your verdict over Jim Murray. More down to earth approach.
I agree too! 100%. Bill Murray is biased as there is some bribery going on from some "other" companies....

I don’t get it; this whiskey is crap. At this price, the world’s your oyster and anything would be better
