I stumbled upon a clip of Michelle's stand up many, many years ago - thanks to UA-cam algorithm - and never had fallen out of love with her since. Seeing her speaking so eloquently and passionately about the kind of legacy she wanted to leave and using her platform to promote love and equality just warmed my heart even more. This is why comedians are the only celebrities I fan out for. Been watching Michelle since I was a teen when she used to do Best Week Ever and all the VH1 shows so I’ve enjoyed her career journey. It’s only comedians that can have their breakthrough in Hollywood in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s.

I'm with you Michelle, it's all about self love....REAL SELF LOVE and acceptance. That's why her show is so important. The message is so impotant.
The magic pill for most women when it comes to true self acceptance is aging. Something happens as you age in regard to not really caring about how others see you. As a teen and in your 20's there is a focus on comparing yourself with others, do you fit in, are you part of a clique. 30's and 40's you start pulling away from that and questioning why you care what others think of you.
But by the time you hit 50 and above....something in your brain and DNA changes and it is full on, I am who I am whether you like it or not😅

It's namely for two reasons, and they both boil down to mortality.
When we reach a particular age, we realize that there are likely more years behind us than ahead of us. Why put yourself through misery and unnecessarily wasted resources like time, energy, emotion, etc. any longer? As we age, time is limiting, and it already feels like it speeds up; why waste more on ultimately trivial opinions of others, or even from yourself? *You need to LIVE.*
Moreover, wisdom gives you new perspective. You begin to truly see beneath the veil. The veils of other individuals, the veils of society, and the veil of the universe.
Once you do, you realize how similar humans _truly_ are, and where you fit on the broad spectrum. I'll leave it there.
May we age beautifully, wisely, healthily, strongly, lovingly and joyfully.🙏🏽 Blessings!💖
I’ve seen some of her stand up on UA-cam and her role in Always Be My Maybe. She definitely sticks out and has something special. I have a 3-day weekend, so I’m gonna binge her show 😂.

I love survival of the thickest. It’s real eye-opening to a lot of experiences that I wish I would’ve taken. Sometimes you can’t take chances because that inner voice or the people around you who may not be in your corner to take it so it is really good to see a TV show making examples of positive experiences.
Never heard of her or the book but I'm going to check out the show she's a really interesting person I really like her spirit.
