Great cab tour. You are indeed correct, 7579 is a brand new rebuild, one of the newest on the roster right now being released just in the last couple months.
I work for the DREI and took this train in empty and back loaded from Top Flight grain in Pierson, IL (also goes by Hammond on waybills…) to Hillsdale, IN last Saturday/Sunday. Pretty cool!
We were waiting we ran out of corn and had about 30 grain trucks lined up feeding us until it got here on Wednesday. I took the video on Thursday. our dumping system went down 4 cars into unload on Wednesday last week
And their rebuilds dont change thr physical appreance much either most the time The SD70AC's and GP40-3s (the 6500s and 6600s ones) look just like the SD70Macs and GP40-2s
Yes that is where they put them Always down in the nose and Believe me ya sure as hell don't wanna be down there when you get frequent clusters of public railroad grade crossings and the risk of hitting something extra big and heavy and out of the ordinary...
No we usually leave them running if you don't use them in a while they will cut off and come back on with autostart. You will here a bell ring that means that loco is starting
@@alexsands433 i work at a corn receiver. Csx brings 90 cars and locomotives the csx crew gets in a van and leaves every thing with us. When we get it unloaded we call csx they put it together and take the emptys away. We operate there locomotives.
I been looking for at least a ns locomotive. But in the 2 years since I transferred overhear and had a chance to do cab tours I haven't seen anything but csx. People that have been here longer said they'd seen black locomotives so I know I'll get one one day.

@@hubbard665You’re lucky you got it when ya did lol! The night we took it out, we had a pretty good snowstorm going on and everyone was calling in.
@@CentralIllinoisRailfan lol it snowed here last Friday and it didn't get finished till Sunday evening
I called in friday
The video of CSX catching up with you should be pretty cool!
Especially since he is on video in the cab LOL
yall do realize he works for the company which does the loading/unloading of these trains? he has the right to be in there
It would be pretty cool. They did when I took this they gave me a ride to the dump pit. So I didn't half to walk
Very cool video indeed! 👍😎
@csxns I cant say
Nice vid...
Thanks for the comment
What is it like running the locomotibes
We don't have enough track to get any speed you basically don't go no faster than 7mph
nice…csx is not as crazy about rebuilding stuff than ns, which makes for a lot of interesting engines
@@VirginianRailway i like the embroidered seat. But seems like they would have been the engineer or conductor seat

Yes you are correct.
When you have a consist like this and the engines are off. Do you have to start up each engine at a time or when starting one up do they all start
No we usually leave them running if you don't use them in a while they will cut off and come back on with autostart. You will here a bell ring that means that loco is starting
I love CSX💛💙
How did you get up in there I may ask ?
