I don't see In Our Bones as it's own set style, I see it as a transitional album. With hindsight I think we can see it was the stepping stone between the sound of Gravity and the sound of Past Lives
not that I dislike Past Lives or In Our Bones, I think they are both absolutely amazing

Big fan of ATC, big fan of In Our Bones, but this one was a bit of a let down for me...I love "Infinity",then they changed their styles with In Our Bones, which was a great thing because it was a really good change in direction...when I heard Chrissy saying that Past Lives is going to follow the path of "Wasteland", I was so excited because Wasteland and Demons are probably their most dynamic songs as far as musicianship is concerned...Wasteland and Demons sounded so dark with a touch of light, but sadly I did not find any of these traits in Past Lives...you can tell theyre heading towards the sound of "After Laughter" by Paramore which is such a shame because theyve created something big that only themselves have with In Our bones...theyve already proven that theyre more than just your average Pop/Punk band with In Our Bones, but Past Lives ia a bit of a downgrade...Past Lives relies more on its Poppy side, nothing wrong with Pop but these songs are songs that you can usually hear on today's radio...just my opinion ok? No need to bash me...

i understand it. i didn't expect this either. wasteland is so different from most of these songs, i don't really see the connection. for me, this album is a letdown because i really love some of the songs (voices, i like the way, i like the way), while songs like these - i just really don't like them. i don't mind bands going pop at all, but they've done way better and i expected a little more. i disagree on the dirty work comparison tho - that album is bomb.
