This compact and neat formed cactus has always been a highly desireable acquisition for serious collectors. More so, the difficult cultivation of the seedlings you mentioned but also becouse of the limited geographical restriction means they are also extremely rare in the wild. This is a cactus I am on the lookout for, so this video was extremely helpful, and one I will return to again if and when I manage to find one for sale somewhere. Thanks for posting as always!.
So happy that you enjoyed the video and it was helpful :-D and fantastic that you want to add one of these beauties to your collection too, I hope that you can find one for sale very soon :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comments and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Monday XXXXX

Hi Lynnie!!! I have never seen one of these guys ever off the internet. I've rarely seen pictures on the net on their own roots too, as you mentioned, perhaps grafted due to their slow growth. It's nice to know that you had this guy for 25 years!!! Thank you for all the information shared Lynn, especially the information on the root stalk of grafts. from the garden city of India to the Emerald Isle, you and Hans have a wonderful holiday season!!! Cheerio Lynnie!!!
Aztekiums on their own roots very occasionally show up on ebay by private collectors, but are often small plants that go for a premium. I too am looking for this plant.
So happy you love this Aztekium cutie Carl :-D its a beauty but hard to find for sale on their own roots, I am amazed at how slow growing it is haha :-D and I was gutted when a few years ago it came down with a bad case of Spider mire damage at the growing tip and was so worried I would lose it, but it has recovered so well and so wonderful to see the nice green growth at the top :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle to the garden City of India for a fantastic Monday XXXXX

I love these cactus Lyn, this one has been at the top of my wish list for a long time, Edith has one for me back in Singapore but it’s grafted at the moment. I was going to get some seeds earlier in the year until I read they’re extremely difficult to germinate and keep alive. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us Lyn and info on its care needs, hopefully it’ll bloom for you very soon😊 From Edith & myself to you and Hans, have a wonderful evening and upcoming new week ❤️🌵☀️🌸🌼🌺🎄
Thats FANTASTIC that Edith has one of these cuties for you in Singapore :-D they are so hard to find for sale and yes the seeds are extremely hard to germinate and once they do they are hard to get established long term and the seeds are meant to be like dust haha :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching Daz, and Hans and I are sending you and Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Monday and new week ahead XXXXX

I need one of those in my life!
eBay is an excellent place to look for private collectors that might want to sell. They don't come up very often and the ones that do sell for a premium but I have seen a few go on there.
@@demonhalo67 Thanks, yeah I've seen this one offered before.
I've got some good contacts being a frankincense grower.
Its a cutie indeed Todd :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle to Florida for a fantastic Monday XXXXX
Hi Lyn - beautiful specimen. One of my favourite cactus species. 🌵😎 Great informative video.
I thought Aztekiums were generally pretty resistant to red spider mites?
So happy you enjoyed the video Al :-D and thats fantastic that its one of your favourite species too, yes Aztekiums are normally more resistant to spider mites, but sadly this one got an attack of it a few years ago but so happy it is recovering well now, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and have a fantastic Thursday today XXXX
Damn spider mite, I hate them ... they’re so hard to get rid of within the desert rose plant 😩 it would be very interesting to see the bloom of this Cactus, it sounds like it would be dainty ... thank you Lyn for sharing this video with us. 👍🏼🌵👍🏼
Spider mites are such a pain in the butt cheeks I agree Cher :-D it will be amazing to see the blooms on this cactus in the future :-D Thanks so much for all of your wonderful support and for all your wonderful comments and thank you so much for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle to Australia for a fantastic Thursday ahead XXXX

You should make a video on how and when to start seed, I have the worst time trying to get seed to sprout, you should do light, time of year, medium all that.
Hi Jessica
I left my A. ritteri outside and it turned a little purple, it's back inside now :D
It may have been caused from the change in the lighting from the inside to the outside and may need to be acclimatised a bit, I sometimes cover them with a shade cloth for a couple of days after moving them back outside
Hi Lynn, Hope you don't mind me doing this. If anyone watching your very good channel wants one there is a shop in Spain called Cactusloft who sell this plant. Quite expensive and very small properly as big as yours when you first got it. Sorry if I'm out of order for doing this Karl.
Thats fantastic Karl :-D people are asking me where they can get one of these from and I can let them know
I'm an advanced hobbyist and I germinated and promptly murdered 10 A. ritteri over the summer
Oh No Alex, so sorry to hear that, I hope you will try again, I know that growing these cacti from seed is extremely difficult though
What pot size/dimensions do you recommend for this cactus?
You said that it can tolerate less light situation, right ? So what do you think about keeping Aztekium indoor on south-west window sill?
My Lophophoras seem doing fine there.
Thanks in advance 😊
PS
I'm from Poland.
Hi there, yes a south west window is great for Aztekium too, and they grow well alongside Lophophoras, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
@@desertplantsofavalon Awsome 🥰. I'll get my first ever Aztekium next week, actually two. Aztekium hintonii minor and Aztekium valdezii.
I'm excited and afraid in the same time because they have opinion of hard to keep alive plants but I had ocasion to get them on their own roots!!😃
Please keep your fingers crossed for them 🤞🙈
I love your channel by the way. Super informative and feeling so much possitive energy from you ❤️🌸🍀😊
