Great video - I really loved your enthusiasm, and your boat! I have a SeaBird too. Have your tried paddling with torso rotation? Turning your whole body will really make it much less work for your poor arms...
Thanks for your positive comment Mark! The rotation thing has been pointed out to me before, and rightfully so. I guess it's not my natural way since I keep falling back to - well, whatever it is I'm doing. But I'm always happy to learn and evolve. So I will definately give the torso paddle a try once more. Who knows where It'll bring me next time around :-)
@@flatoutdoor There are several really easy exercises to help with torso rotation. Paddling with torso rotation, or rather your entire body because you need your legs as well!, makes it so much easier to paddle. Especially for longer tours like at sea. Let me know if you want some tips. Also, check out the technique series by Ultimate Kayaks here in youtube.
@@start2paddle Thanks. I'm working on it and make some progress. First thing I noticed is my GoPro blocked the stroke. I also had little space below deck to move my legs. Fixed both now, which indeed is very helpfull. Also I use a bit higher angle, which seems to help too. It takes time and practise to stay consistant in the new stroke. But when it works, it brings great and easy flow 😃 (and when I lose that flow a bit of frustration). Still better than sore arms though 😅.

Just checked Ultimate Kayaks; I like the backgrownd explaination on the Why of things. I'll check some more later. Thanks for the tip!
