ebows up and hand position whatevers most comfortable! you're gonna get armpump whatever position you are. this tip will just make you last that little bit longer. want a huge difference then get your suspension dialed into your riding style
Funny enough, body position and squeezing the bike with your legs can reduce arm pump drastically. Compensating for accelerating and braking along with this technique works wonders
Not trying to be a know it all but you also gotta watch how far you regrip to the exploration part or you will be pulled back and not able to let off the gas just somthig I learnt the hard way
This so important,I made a comment on another video about body position and learning how to move with the bike on an approach to a jump and up the face of a jump, and voila Gary Semics video miraculous shows up thanks big bros, this is such a simple thing but I can't stress how you should watch and learn from Gary, this simple arm movement the regrip may sound maybe like a cleshea, but with mastering the regrip u will never be able to have your arms and body in the position to control the controls, never believe me I went from road racing back into motocross but on the new modern long travel suspension bikes, the safety factor is this I was going up the face of an uphill jump steady on the gas I got ready for the take off at the last second I dropped throttle elbow down at the same time a kicker on the face dropped my throttle elbow down some more and twisted the gas as I came up to the lip the extra throttle shot the bike out from under me...it went about 80 or 90 feet I went maybe 25feet,I gave the handle bars one heavy hit with both hands and it flew the air beautiful except I wasn't on it...my friend who got me back into dirtbikes was giving me crap because I have so much style even when I'm not on my bike it looks better than he does when he's on his.Luckily I didn't get hurt,my ego, when I rolled out of it and jumped back up to my feet...my motocross camera guy was standing there with his motor driven Nikon so I gave him a thumbs up,he just kept shooting my bike didn t even take a picture of me later he said the bike was more interesting...hah...that was the moment I decided I really need to pay attention and not make mistakes,my friends were always telling me to keep my elbows up,but never explained the why and hownits the regrip...its the same movement u just have to move up on the bike if u let ur elbows down the throttle will not be in your control and if u get to far back on the bike u can't control the throttle, the regrip is the key,if u don't figure it out nothing else will fall into place, also using my leg to guide the bike was one of the most rewarding and coolest things I ever learned,I'm italian and I'm hard headed it took time, one of the best thing I did for my supercross riding was to study slow motion of some guy name McGrath, and guess who taught Mac.....ill wait for it,times up.THANKS piece out.
Jeremy is an extrodanary individual any way I saw an interview where they were talking to his dad and he was saying how when Jeremy was two years old he was doing some incredible jumping.two years old ,I started snow skiing when I was three I can't remember being two,let alone what I did when I two.
U gotta stay forward on the bike that's what I learned by watching McGrath and Gary is the guy who trained Jeremy if y'all didn t know who Semics is. And I believe Gary is 1976 AMA Supercross champion.and 250 out door National Champian too,I know he was a supercross Champion.not sure of the year,
Gary maybe you can help me, my elbow went to China. Gary got a holeshot and led a flippin U.S.G.P. Salute. Gary are all these whips, scrubs, cross-ups really necessary?
All the years that I raced sport bikes and motocross, and harescramble s I always wonder where McGrath went to a motocross training school if he went to one this is the guy and the school that he went to.Funny thing I saw some old Daytona SX footage of Gary and he rides just like Jeremy, how incredible...hah hah wonder how that could be...
Gary, hope you are well. I am a local kid from around your neck of the woods, I was hoping that you can help me out with a suggestion. I am 5'7'' and a bit on the shorter side, I always feel like I need more sweep out of my bars. Can you throw me a suggestion on a good bar bend? usually running ODI Country Boy bend now, tried the MC bend and did not like it. What is a bend you can suggest (no matter the manufacturer) Thanks
I bought dual gasser for my kx250f 2016 , but I have a problem. My kx250f has 2 throttle cables , and the dual gasser is for one cable. How can I make it work perfectly? PleAse help.
Why not use a thumb throttle and eliminate the problem? Is there a reason for twist throttle beyond cruising down the interstate? Racing quads require more bar grip than bikes, but I personally control a thumb better than a twist. It seems you have more control when you simply let one thumb loose versus an entire wrist. Am I wrong?
just got a 400 4stroke first bike... have 15,000kms on a quad and im considering a thumb throttle if theyre even available.. i keep coming into the throttle accidentally due to how tightly im holding onto the grips which can be bad if youre not ready to pull the clutch in
^it’s easy. You just give it the right amount of gas obviously. It’s all practice. I hate twist throttles. Always end up with whiskey throttle because of arm pump. The twist throttle is a giant hurdle in my bike riding. It’s all preference and I prefer thumb 11/10 times
My issue is I'll keep my throttle steady all the way up to the lip but then the minute I get to the the lip my wrist has a fuckin seizure and pins the throttle
Please dont take advise from this guy. That "accelerating form" he teaches is just gonna end you up on the ground. Hitting a jump you are way more likely to over gas it and if you hit a hole or something that knocks your form youre gonna end up opening that throttle waaaaaay too much. The braking form he talks about is fine.
Okay, just read your comment and WTF.....do you know who Gary Semics is?? apparently not. 500 National title winner, Loretta Lynn's winner at 50yrs old and one of the best trainers out there today. I have watched him train McGrath, Brandon Jesseman along with many other successful Pro guys through the 90's to this day. If you have nothing helpful to say, then keep your ignorant un-educated comments to your self. I will let you slide on this one and assume you are a Hillsville Hill-Rat....................
You're right, these kids in the replies probably never ridden any bike or maybe just a pw50 because on my kx125 and my old yzf250, I open the throttle just a little bit and the bike is screaming, and accelerating super fast The way he show on the video is super dangerous. If you are lucky, you just gonna start a super fast and super high wheeling and brake at time but in the worst case, you gonna lose control of the bike and broke most of your bones + the bike I don't know why he's teaching this, and even if he is a motocross champion, DONT DO THAT!!
BEST MOTOCROSS CHANNEL EVER

Watch your videos a lot interested in buying the dvds. Do you have a sample DVD or something?
mmmmh, i will try this out...thanks for posting.....
it feels scary using regrip for acceleration,, i feel like i have no control and ill whiskly throtle.

how the hell are u suposed to give the right amount of throttle with a freaking thumb button

Michael Morgan that’s why I’m switching my crf450 to a thumb throttle.
