    I bought one in the key of G several months ago from Greg Jones (16:23 Harmonicas), and I love it !
    I agree with everything you said... my next one will be a Low F... not really crazy about the 1847 Silver Low F that I have... it's okay, but I like my Special 20 Low F in a TurboLid better.
    All metal harps like the Lightning are usually very cold in temperature... I keep mine by my laptop computer's fan vent that let's out warm air... makes it perfect for picking up and playing without rubbing it in my hands for several minutes !

    Roly: I am new to playing harmonica, but I really like the Seydels and decided to buy the Seydel Lightning in "C" based on your review. Holy harmonica! It is amazing and I have noticed a difference with the deeper and richer tone because the holes are squarer than the 1847 Noble, which I have been playing. This is an amazing harmonica that is perfectly suited for my style. Thanks for your review, which convinced me! Cheers. P.S. I am subscribing to your channel.

      @@RolyPlatt Your UA-cam channel has been a great help to me, as I have only been seriously trying to learn how to play for two months. I saw your Harp Wah and it looks very interesting. When I learn how to play better, I intend to get it. Thanks again for being there for us beginners. Cheers.

    I'm a hohner fanboy but I do like them full metal combs. I have a custom Dannecker made out of a big river (took the covers off for special 20 covers though) and it has a full metal comb. I like to throw it at people when first introducing it to them because it's so heavy.

      Roly. Thanks fir the review. I was wondering about maintenance. Like how often to you clean the harmonica and what cleaning method to maintain longevity

      Seydels last longer.

      @@ushnicyuvnikof2748 maybe. But I lost a crossover for a year in the mud. My son found it. I washed it and it still played flawlessly. All overblows and overdraws available as soon as it dried off from cleaning. European harps are kings regardless of brand name.

    I still consider myself to be a beginner, but I have about 5 Horner’s and one Suzuki. Thinking about branching out a bit more and trying this.

      If you can afford this harp, it’s really nice.

    Hello, first i wana say that I'm a big fan of your work even if i rather play only blues on the harp! i have the cross overs and I'm happy with them but I would really like to try the Seydel and since you're the expert on that I can't really find any video online that explains the diference between the 1847 classic, nobel, silver and the lightening!
    can you plz recommend any videos? many many thx and happy harping

    • @RolyPlatt
      @RolyPlatt  Рік тому +1

      First off - thanks! I don't know of any videos on that but the Classic is wood comb, the Silver is a polymer of some sort. Other that that - no difference at all. My video should cover the Lightning fairly well The Noble I'm not familiar with unfortunately. These days I like the Classic 1847s the best overall (considering the price of the Lightning. But they are great harps as mentioned. Hope that helps

    Is this the heaviest Seydel diatonic harp?
