Please keep doing those mocks, unfortunately career services in low tier schools (non-targets, low semi-targets) have no clue how IB works ... pushing us more towards accounting and audit
For the square root brain teaser question, I believe☝️there’s a better way. You break the number 4000, into numbers you know how to work with. So 4000 = 4*100*10. Square root of 4 is 2, 100 is 10, and 10 is a number a little over 3, as 3^2 is 9. So you multiple everything after, 2*10*3.something, call it 2. You get roughly 64, which is pretty close.
When the math question came up I paused the video and did it. How I’d answer this is first saying rt4000 -> rt4 * rt1000 -> 2 * rt10 * rt100 - 2 * 10 * rt10 -> 20*rt10. 20*rt10 is simplest form and what you would write on a math test. It’s precise and imo easier then looking for a decimal
Obviously a joke, but for 4000, I think the best way is to find the closest easy multiple (60^2) as this is 3600 and then do some adding from there. 61^2 will be 121 higher. 62^2 will be 123 higher than that. Rounding, you realize you can get 3 more multiples in before hitting 4000 - that is 3600+3(~120)=3960. From there guess a decimal. Main trick is doing the math in front of people lol
Instead of finding sqrt of 4,000, do 40. 6^2 = 36 and 7^2 = 49. 49 - 36 = 13. 36 is 4 away from 40 - so 4/13 = ~ .30. Now add .30 to 6 = 6.3. So 6.3 is about the sqrt of 40 - meaning 63 is around the sqrt of 4000. much simpler
It opens up a lot of opportunities down the line in your career, lots of transitions you can make. The "traditional path" is usually something like IB --> PE --> maybe a CEO of a company We have rising freshman (high school students) preparing for these roles now
The calculation the guy gave was 1000x more appropriate in an interview than writing it down like she showed...
I was looking for a Morgan Stanley mock interview for a while, and this is one of the best out there.

This is awesome!

Glad you liked it!
Do another interview video!

how would you explain that number to a client tho
This is awesome! 🤓
“Wrong. There are almost 200,000 gas stations in the US. We appreciate you applying.”

This is clutch! 🤑

Wish I had this when I was recruiting...
please, do next video about BAML interview
Rt4000= 2*10*rt10 and rt9 is 3 so rt10 is slightly more let say 3.1
The guy has a rhythm.
400 is 20 x 20, 4,000 is 400 x 10 so the root is 20 rt 10
I’d literally say water for the something slipped into the cracks question 😜💀
Why do people even want to get into these investment bank at this age

Am I the only person who finds her kinda cute?😅😅
get some help
Pretty far off on population estimate off by almost 15%
first behavioral, not answering question, dinged
There are 170K gas station in the US. 40.000 is not even close
