For those who are confused that why he told her to wait aftee telling her sister that he want this wedding to proceed .....well that's because right here in this scene he truly came to know about kate's feelings for him. He told her to wait because he now wanted to start a scandal so that Edwina call off the wedding finding them in compromising position. Kate was already on the edge and would have kissed him if she stayed there for few more seconds.
I love their story and I have watched it a few times, but sometimes I cannot get over how ugh Anthony is sometimes. This is just after he tried to convince Edwina to still marry him, calling Kate a thorn. Not to mention proposing to her sister right in front on her. It just frustrates me. Ugh
Yeah true that was unnecessary but he clearly didn’t mean anything he said hence the reason he asked her to stay. He wanted to be in the moment before she went to convince Edwina
If you listen to that whole speech that he gave Edwina before this scene .....he practically lied to her about everything. He told her that he is intent to get married and has always been even after that shieffields dinner disaster ....but WE the audience know that he was about to break it with Edwina and was intent to call off the wedding until kate begged him to marry her. So it's obvious that whole speech was a lie and that thorn part too ....now why he was still convincing Edwina to marry him? That's because kate begged him to and he's man of honour. He thought kate wanted this so he was doing this for her. He always wanted to be in good books of kate .....thats why he met her in the closet basically wanted to assure himself that she's not mad at him for staring at her at the wedding .....until kate flipped the whole situation saying I HAVE RUINED HER LIFE ....accepting the fact that she did have strong feelings for anthony and that's why he stopped her cause he himself was stunned that she's finally accepting it.
He was not meaning he hated her at this point…. That was pure desperation and love being cruel All for show. She had begged him to continue and he thought that was what she wanted so he was gonna go through with it. Even though he made clear to Daphne that it wasn’t his decision to continue “she has made plans that do not involve me”
Idk why but everytine he goes for her hand and touches the bangle, in my head, he is always like “what..*blushes* is this?” Ik it doesnt happen but this is an entirely acted part. IN MY HEAD. Again idk why
