- A massive thunderstorm blew through Washington DC this evening, knocking down trees and powerlines all over the city, but especially hard hit was the NW quadrant. I was out of town when the storm hit, but raced back to show you what I could.
Show not Tell.

PenguinSix is an apolitical guy in a political town who likes to walk a lot. He has hiked over 17,000 miles (27,000kms) in the past six years and is still walking today. He is an American expat who spent the last decade in Hong Kong with his family and is now back in Washington DC, continuing his daily ritual of taking very long hikes around the city catching the sights and sounds of the city while live streaming to share with others. History, culture, life as an expat (with reverse culture shock), and the pitiful Chinese food in Washington DC are regular topics of discussion. This is a warning, God is not messing around with DC anymore...
Even God has had it with the behavior in the capital.
How perfectly symbolic
Payback for so many fires, train derailments, food plant burning, and truth not being told. Protection to the good people!
Thank you so much for this footage! Looks like the wrath of God was unleashed upon DC!
My son is a Marine stationed at the Pentagon. He has no power at home. I overnighted he and his housemates some electric candles from Amazon. He thought that was funny.
Gas generators......let us see if those SmartiePants want to ban gas generators after this
Our Govt is a bigger disaster mess than anything that storm did. Since D.C. is shut down, maybe the rest of us Americans won’t get screwed for the next few days.
Sorry for the tree loss, but glad to see mother nature sharing the love. This happens all the time in the south.
DC needed a good washing!!!
Storming in Charleston SC too ....Looks like the Storm is Upon Us!!! 17
GOO IS SPEAKING!
Hand of God!!! 👍🙏🇺🇸 Drain the swamp!
Weather bomb explodes and then leaves. I have never seen a storm move in with 100 miles per hour winds and then just dissappear.... looks like weather warfare.
We were clobbered last night in Iowa 80 m.p.h. winds, poor kines down, trees ripped apart and uprooted thousands, buildings demolished. Yup, looks like what happened here. Nobody reported it on social media though
Just an observation. Around here about every 10th residence has a chainsaw and an experienced operator. Read that a gas/oil mix, 2 cycle chainsaw with fully adjustable carburetor jets. Any time a storm comes through, many will throw their saw in the back of the vehicle and if they come across a downed tree they will cut it up and others join in to get it out of the road. It is rare that a tree, no matter how big, is still blocking the road 2 hours after a storm, even something like an ice storm that makes travel difficult. Looks kinda helpless around there from that standpoint. How long will it take the city that only owns 2 battery operated saws to clean the trees off the roads? I hope somebody is on the phone calling in people who have real chainsaws.....
My daughter's family was trapped. The road is blocked. A neighbor got them out and they had to stay in a Motel.
That's one way to clean out the political trash that inhabits that useless area,,,,,,
I was home when the storm hit...it was intense for a few minutes but I didn't think the damage was that bad.
better wake up --- its a sign
