Let's take a look at Country Crock Margarine and what it looks like when you cook it! They say that it is 1 molecule away from being plastic. Check it out!!

Uhm... You're using Country Crock with added CALCIUM... You're just cooking out the calcium in the product. I don't think that Country Crock was ever intended as a frying medium, but rather as a spread.
+jimdkc WRONG. I used the old country crock with calcium, and this NEVER happened. I have some left over and did this test and guess what...no plastic Glob in the old country crock with calcium. Another CC employee. Nice Try. Plus the new taste is terrible.
+TheBrismoore i tried this with the new recipe and it didnt turn to plastic. only the calcium version does this... there are 2 videos of country crock turning to 'plastic' and their both the calcium version.. coincidence?

margarine has a similar molecular structure to plastic, but that's kind of like comparing water to ammonia. margarine is made from highly processing vegetable oils which isn't healthy though.

JoeAceJR Yes but too much Calcium can also cause problems. Inadequate vitamin D, which is something that affects many people, can affect calcium bioavailability in such a way that brian tissue, including the pineal gland, may calcify.
In moderation, butter is fine. But, remove all fat and you won't feel satisfied. And, taken to the extreme, a high protein / zero fat diet could make someone sick. (See protein poisoning.) There are no partially hydrogenated oils or trans fats in Country crock. You are comparing Apples to Oranges. Butter is a dairy product while Country crock is a plant product thus they do have different properties. However most margarine does contain hydrogenated oils which are deadly. Country crock is the only butter substitute that I feel safe using.
I switched to blue bonnet and it did the same thing I now use land of lakes even though I dont want to since they removed the Indian girl. Running out of options.
I think the fact that it turns into film makes it better for your heart any way because just because butter is supposed to melt don't mean u can't diguest film from the spread
That 'plastic' is the starches that are added and yes the formulas were changed to remove the 'bad' fat.Technically you are and are not wrong, let me explain. Some modern biodegradable plastics are made from cornstarch (PLA plastics ) but what you are seeing is just the starch binding the fats.As others have said margarine is not meant for cooking like that just use vegetable oil, or real butter.

I 100% agree with you.. this new formula that they are using is gross and disgusting. it has ruined all my foods and have switched to a different brand all together.. If country crock was to bring back original formula I will switch back but until then srry country crock you have another dissatisfied customer
my older sister buys the tubs of country crock margarine and she expects me to eat it.There's no way I am eating that crap,I will stick to my real Irish butter from kerrygold.
It amazes me how people don't know the difference between margarine and spread. Neither of the things in this video are margarine they are both spreads, Like others have said stick to real butter. It's more expensive but better for you as long as you don't eat it to excess! Think about it how do they make butter? The churn milk....period.
FicklinTV logic 101 Calcium gets left behind when margarine is cooked, calcium acts/looks like plastic, and therefore, margarine has plastic in it. Butter does not have calcium in it, and therefore is much better for you than margarine.
Dude.....ok a tiny informative lesson....ao there is no misunderstanding....tye blue bonnet he uses is straight butter. No additives. The country crock has loads of calcium added to it for supposed health benefit. Now....the calcium wont do anywhere when cooked down. It will remain. What your seeing is not plastic its the result of all the moisture/water content being cooked out and the oils from the butter bonding together with the leftover calcium. When i had saltwater aquarium the calcium from the salts would build up and creep over the sides of the tank and up the equipment. When you pull it off it resembles thin sheets of crinkly plastic. This gentleman is just misunderatanding the process and that can damage that companies product and reputation. Dont believe this please.
Country crock is margine it's suppose to be used for spreading not for hot stoves especially since the country crock has soy bean oil and it goops it's not freaking plastic omg
well you DONT cook with it. its supposed to be on your bread. It has additives and contains water and caLCIUM .. iT is user to be on youe santwitch,. use ReaL BUTTER OR OIL to cook..
None of the product you have are actually butter. they're two totally different products one is margarine and the other one is a spread made of different ingredients.
Didn't Country Crock switch to an all-natural recipe the year you made this? Margarine is made from vegetable oil, meaning it ultimately comes from vegetables, and the Country Crock tub has added calcium because the dairy sector criticize margarine for not having enough nutrients. No wonder it breaks down like something that didn't start its life as a liquid
Its not plastic, thats just how the calcium acts with heat. Still looks pretty nasty tho ngl. Regardless, if you're using it for cooking just use real butter. Whenever i use country crock to make scrambled eggs a whole bunch of burnt shit gets in my eggs.
hahaha! there's no such thing as plastic cheese or any kind of food. "plastic" is a food science term that refers to a food's ability to be molded and hold it's shape. real butter does the same thing when it's cold enough.
Country Crock isn't a butter or a margarine. Maybe y'all should read about it. Country crock is actually not bad for you as it has almost 0 trans fats. I use it as spread or cooking my vegetables in. It's delicious and I haven't been effected health wise. I remember my mom used this since I could remember as well and that was 20 years ago. And yes the calcium in the butter makes a huge difference in why it was sticking to your skillet grill. I'm sure if there was any plastic in this product the FDA would have closed there rodeo 20+ years ago. This should be taken off internet. Smmfh
Karissa Redocto sorry this disturbed you so much but the FDA has allows plenty of products on the market that aren’t necessarily “good” for human consumption. Thanks for viewing and commenting though 💋
The EXACT same thing happened to me. It doesn't happen w original Country Crock, it's something w the Country Crock Calcium. The first time it happened I thought there was something left in the pan I was using, even tho I was 99.9% it was clean butter isn't supposed to fry, right?? . Tonight I was trying to make grilled cheese, well don't try that shit w plastic. I borrowed some Country Crock Original from my neighbor and it worked fine. I told her I was emailing, tweeting, etc Country Crock and asking for my money back. I mean that crap fries up like an egg, or when you're frying bacon and trying not to get burned from the grease. It's crazy!! I was so glad to find I wasn't the only person this happened to.
Good demonstration, however I find the usage of any and all hydrogenated "butter" spreads to be bad. The people arguing about the calcium in the country crock is redundant. Partially hydrogenated oils are bad period, it clogs your arteries. Real fats are better, preferably animal fats considering they have the highest heat tolerance. Tallow, lard, schmaltz, real ghee, real butter, avocado oil, coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil. Some people also use rendered bacon grease, bacon grease has been slightly oxidized.
It was not a goof demonstration because he didn't use margarine or butter.. yet claimed and told us not to use it because it's margarine, he used two spreads, both have different ingredients, one has calcium the other didn't, therefore they behaved and sounded differently.
Look at the ingredients man... there is modified tapioca starch in country crock, wich completely explains the resedue. Do research before spreading false information!
That is crazy!! I use Country Crock all of the time, but I use the original formula and I have never seen that happen. Maybe its the added Calcium in the one you are using. I definitely will be more mindful for sure. Thanks.

Try doing the same with milk. you'll come to the same conclusion, that it must be plastic... /smh
Maybe I should have read the other comments first.. I guess it must be the calcium ☺
You were partially right, Country Crock uses some milk solids, it just replaces butterfat with plant oils.
+TheRedneckAtheist I guess that makes sense. 👍
It helps if you read the ingredients.
Also, spreads (ie. margarines) aren't meant for cooking on stoves and/or high heat. Very common misconception.
Remove one molecule from table salt and it turns into a poison, yet we all love salt and would die without it.
One molecule can make all the difference between safe to eat and not safe to eat. Its important to remember that.
The molecule difference between margarine and plastic is OXYGEN. People are so uneducated.
Salt is a molecule, sodium chloride, made of ions, charged atoms. I believe you meant removing atoms, not molecules.
One molecule off water and you get hydrogen.
You can't drink water or you might explode near a fire!

I 100% agree with you.. this new formula that they are using is gross and disgusting. it has ruined all my foods and have switched to a different brand all together.. If country crock was to bring back original formula I will switch back but until then srry country crock you have another dissatisfied customer
I don't buy margarine period. Real butter is where it's at
my older sister buys the tubs of country crock margarine and she expects me to eat it.There's no way I am eating that crap,I will stick to my real Irish butter from kerrygold.
Deitra Pawley we use to as well. Never again!
Thanks for visiting my channel :) (Liked) Happy Holiday's!
Sure thing! Happy New Year
It amazes me how people don't know the difference between margarine and spread. Neither of the things in this video are margarine they are both spreads, Like others have said stick to real butter. It's more expensive but better for you as long as you don't eat it to excess! Think about it how do they make butter? The churn milk....period.
Thanks for watching, Millie
So when you cook a thin layer of egg white and it turns out like that, you call it plastic as well lol.
FicklinTV logic 101
Calcium gets left behind when margarine is cooked, calcium acts/looks like plastic, and therefore, margarine has plastic in it.
Country crock is margine it's suppose to be used for spreading not for hot stoves especially since the country crock has soy bean oil and it goops it's not freaking plastic omg
that is soooo gross. I wouldn't eat that! New subbie
Everyday Life with Rudi and Alicia welcome! It's disgusting
well you DONT cook with it. its supposed to be on your bread. It has additives and contains water and caLCIUM .. iT is user to be on youe santwitch,. use ReaL BUTTER OR OIL to cook..
Edwin Jungman you don't say! Jeez thanks, Edwin
FicklinTV jou are welkome my friend 😁😁😁
Its calcium residue
Ethan Robert thanks for watching
None of the product you have are actually butter. they're two totally different products one is margarine and the other one is a spread made of different ingredients.
Thanks, Paul !
I think it means Crocket is organic and not plastic because vegetables have film specially corn or coconut oil ect
MattDollars thanks for the insight
glad I watched this no more eating country crock
CosmeticGenie yeah, this was disgusting!
Thank you ❤
Blue Bonnet contains crude oil derivatives. The natural kind.
Plastic is made from oil. Country crock is margarine which is mostly veggie oil.... think on it
Didn't Country Crock switch to an all-natural recipe the year you made this?
Margarine is made from vegetable oil, meaning it ultimately comes from vegetables, and the Country Crock tub has added calcium because the dairy sector criticize margarine for not having enough nutrients. No wonder it breaks down like something that didn't start its life as a liquid
This video was made over 3 years ago
More chemicals make things move more. When you cook eggs, it looks like plastic too.
Thanks, Angie !
why did you call them butter
Its not plastic, thats just how the calcium acts with heat. Still looks pretty nasty tho ngl.
Regardless, if you're using it for cooking just use real butter. Whenever i use country crock to make scrambled eggs a whole bunch of burnt shit gets in my eggs.
exactly lol no bueno
And Adderall is one molecule away from being meth.
hahaha! there's no such thing as plastic cheese or any kind of food. "plastic" is a food science term that refers to a food's ability to be molded and hold it's shape. real butter does the same thing when it's cold enough.
ok! Thanks for the info!
They are not butter, sir.
That country crock is not no margarine it’s butter for bread it’s not margarine margarine comes in blocks that you have to wrap
oh... Thanks for informing
Did you try doing it with the original country crock??
I was so glad to find I wasn't the only person this happened to.
it's not oil or butter meant for frying lol, it's a SPREAD
Great job✌🏾
thanks for watching!
I love Real Butter Period
You'll have to test it to see if it's plastic
Look at the ingredients man... there is modified tapioca starch in country crock, wich completely explains the resedue.
Do research before spreading false information!
we just watched this video in health lmao
Got into a debate with my girlfriend over whether or not Country Crock was real so I googled it. I am never buying this shit again!
neither are we!
i can't believe it's not butter!
XD
yes!
That is crazy!! I use Country Crock all of the time, but I use the original formula and I have never seen that happen. Maybe its the added Calcium in the one you are using. I definitely will be more mindful for sure. Thanks.
La Vida Leggitts could have been. We haven’t used either since
I swear people are ignorant. Learn what's in your food and brush up on your chemistry before you make wild and asinine comments about food turning into plastic.🙄🙄🙄
Thanks for watching!
That is not plastic you're using country Crock calcium that is the calcium in the margarine that you are using
wow! thanks for letting us know!
Wow that's crazy .
Calender kay right
It has calcium of course it'll have that effect. The non calcium won't do that
Whatever you decide, didn't your mother ever tell you "no metal utensils on Teflon"? Besides, why are you using a Teflon finished grill? Bad, bad!
no, she didn't. Thanks for watching
It scratches the finish.
Thank you! I was actually about to buy this.
It's not plastic it's soy bean oil and it's not butter it's margine
Neither is butter. Both are margarine.
Trina Moyer thanks for watching
