Porches does this on purpose, playful with their live renditions, i seen them do it a few times, little abstract atonal dissonant math grunge intro-jams to the songs you know. Porches kinda comes from a post-punk, grunge folk scene. So yea they were being musically challenging and mixing it up and humorous
