    Checking other cars, they all use a 10mm screw with a 5mm thick motor plate (example: Arrma Granite 4x4 3S BLX). The Tekno also has a 5mm thick plate. So if you're building a Tekno MT410 2.0, I highly encourage you to also use a 10mm cap head screw instead of the included 8mm. It should work with most motors, but double-check to be sure.

    hey man, thanks for the heads up! I am just finishing SCT 410 2.0 and my Hobbywing can take up even 12 mm cap head screw. I just took them out from pinion cover, I will restock 12mm's for cover later down the road

    I have had the opportunity to see it work and have it in my hands in its previous version of the Tekno MT410 and it seems to be of very high quality. For me the downside is that it seems expensive depending on its size.

      This is an entirely different truck from the old mt410, not just an updated version. It’s closer to the size of a stampede than a revo. But yes, their quality on the old one was pretty good. I’ve got the EB4.8. They’re typical Asian quality, which is pretty good. As good as you’re gonna find anyway.

    Wow… that chassis slap is hard!! I always beef up my “high jumping bashers” because that hard hit transfers through all the components of the vehicle causing all sorts of breaks and other problems. It also damages the electronics. SO BEEF UP YOUR SUSPENSION… it’s worth it

  • @alankowalski8781

    Try putting a thin piece of Traxxas foam under the motor to keep it from getting shocked when the chassis slaps

    Today I installed a hobbywing max10 sct into my infraction 3s this isn’t the g2 it’s the last model anyway I’ve always had that same issue with this motor it’s a 3660 an they bottom out really fast theirs maybe 5 threads at best in there I’ve not had this issue but today installing it I didn’t have short enough cap screws so a washer an a regular screw an taking it out I hope that wasn’t a mistake… lol kinda liking the truck my only question is this actually smaller then the last version I thought it was more like the size an over all style like that 6s outcast….

    I think the no head screw in the pignon gear is a little too long. Maybe another brand of pignon...(rotating mass, vibration, maybe one srew on the dif.....).

      Sorry, I have no idea. But whatever it is, it will vary from what you build because of different electronics, tires, body, etc. And thanks for sharing the videos on rc-modellbau-portal.de!

    Definitely strange with that motor mount screw issue. That is tkr1522 m3x8mm caphead. Do you have two m3x10mm capheads to try or is that too long and cause obstruction in the motor itself ? Hopefully just a oddity with the motor and not the motor mount mechanism. I would think Tekno tried a bunch of motors during testing to see if there was something obviously wrong.

    • @chrisvda7277
      @chrisvda7277 Рік тому

      @AsurasWrath164 Mt10 has indent in chassis for motor around a 63 size max not 65. But with a 15-16 size pinion may lift motor over the indent so was wondering if anyone else has made it fit.

    • @one4all885
      @one4all885 Рік тому

      Compared to other brands this kit is on the lower side, but I agree that in general this hobby and all brands have gotten stupidly overpriced in the last decade. I remember the associated b44 selling in the $300s, but with discount, was less than $300. That came with carbon fiber shock towers, chassis and top deck. The b4 with discount was less than $200 and was pure plastic. Since then they replaced plastic and carbon fiber chassis's with aluminum and suddenly 2wd buggies are over $400. 4wd is ridiculous with some brands. Then nothing changed with 8th scale except the prices shot up for no reason.
      At this point I want this hobby to end for greedy companies. Not tekno though. Tekno is good, but wish they didn't go with the trend of other brands increasing prices. That only makes it harder for the hobby to grow. It's not just kits either. Motor and esc prices have gone up. Today's motors have huge cutouts which make dirt and debris easy to get in and damage or weaken motors. Less heat, but shorter life which they want so you buy more of their overpriced motors. I'm glad I bought a batch of the Orion motors that went on clearance, the ones Cav used when he was always winning years ago. Fully sealed and does not overheat. Still one of the best at half price. A pair of bullet connectors selling for $3 or more is not a deal. Used to get them for over a dollar. My local hobby shop tried to sell me bullet connectors for $10. I know a guy whose diff was stripped, and he only needed to replace the gear, not the whole diff, but the shop told him to buy a whole new diff. Diffs have also doubled in price. Toys aren't fun to bash or be carefree with when you know how much it cost you and how expensive replacing parts can be.

      Its basically a 1/10 race kit... its at or below the price of basically any othet 1/10 race kit which blows rtrs out of the water quality wise.
      Sure RCs are expensive but the cars are a million times better than they were even 10 years ago. Companies have to put more r&d into making models this good, of course they're going to get more expensive. Naturally, world events have not helped either.
      I wish they were cheaper too, but that just isn't how the world works.

    • @RUZTY1311
      @RUZTY1311 Рік тому +1

      The only oddity is the motor mount and the screws need to be longer....even with RTRs there is SOMETHING that needs to be fixed. But this isnt an RTR. Its Tekno and its precision. Im telling you once you get a Tekno you wont want to buy anything else lol I sold all my Arrmas because they just cannot and I mean CANNOT compete

    Nice job Razor!! I think you built it out proper. As to the truck, eh, not impressed. I love my MT410 v1 and SCT410.3, but feel like Tekno went in the wrong direction with this truck. I believe it could be the best 1/10 MT ever with some upgrades but, at the price point, also the most expensive 1/10 MT ever. Fail for me. Way too much plastic for the price point. I agree with you on the Jconcepts Choppers, why is it that these companies seem to always discontinue the best product they ever made? Defies logic. Get it fixed up, then sell it. My advice. There's better options out there for a 1/10 MT IMO.

    Looks like only 1/3 of the screw threads engaged, ie 3mm or so from your exposed loctite. Maybe your screw hole is already too big / worn out, thus the loctite near the opening is not gluing up. You can consider red or green loctite or deepening the screw hole or a split spring washer or combination.
