It’s like toilet paper the more you spend the better you get,, but this is the thing and you can trust me on this one YOU DONT WANT TO GET CAUGHT IN THE WOODS WITH NO TOILET PAPER ,,,😂👋. ( for the ones don’t understand your better with cheep radio than none ) 😂☕️…
Found a quick easy test to see if a radio is "noisy". Take your new radio and get hold of another. I then set them to the non ham 2 way channels one radio on channel 1 and channel 8 and then the other to channels 2 and 7. I then see if the radios trigger each other that way. I have a Baofeng GT-5R (clean) and a UV-K5 Plus (dirty). The GT wont trigger the UV but the UV will trigger the GT.
That's a great way to find Front End Overload or Poor Selectivity! The radio that can hear signals it shouldn't is the bad one in your example. Nice find!
Calling on all hams to track down what frequencies the drones on the east coast are being controlled by and reporting it to any authority (like local law enforcement) Since a lot of people are getting scared right now by this "unknown" invasion it seems appropriate that we as hams can potentially make an impact like in our recent hurricanes down south. All it would take is to monitor and report if you are on the east coast or any of the affected areas.... 73's and happy signal hunting
@@temporarilyoffline Got anything good planned for weekend, funny story we saw a guy pulling a camper down the road covered in Christmas lights blinking, only in America 😂
@@cornbread-KO5RN I've got 2 things planned - get the front mount hitch and bike carrier installed or work on getting coax through the new hole in the RV - that's going to be a neat looking setup.

Sometimes you gotta explain it to the unwashed...

Remember the radio is supposed to be in a natural talking position I think your head is supposed to be part of the ground plane in the near field..

I guess the polite term would be "quirky".

@@temporarilyoffline good , video both I can learn from your expertise 👍😎
@cornbread-KO5RN "expertise" you're too kind my friend.
Many come with a stock rubber duck that is a better coffee stir than a antenna . Nogoya has a great triband one from them. 73
I'll take a look!
Sometimes ubiquitous is good, as long as the radio has the potential to save a life, it's alright by me, tnx Man!
Its the only tri-band radio I own now... so its only partially ubiquitous!
QUANSHENG rebrand
Don't forget the Quansheng UV-5R: amzn.to/4fxUC13
Hey, if I decorate my ham shack with Baofeng radios, does it make it Baofeng-shui? 😎
It does! I dig it!
Can you install modded firmware in it?
Not yet.
pedantic Great word!
I try to at least acknowledge when I do it ;-)
