These people have a very smart idea. I wish more people would decide to open up LRP gaming to the public as a form of event entertainment. LRP is more engaging than a traditional Ren. Fair, I have found, and pulls out everyone's inner hero/villain.
Strength to the empire!

COOL! Good work on the music, editing and VO which I think works very well.
Love this!
Watching this was a very wise decision.
DEATH OR GLORY!
Oh, them mittens
EPIC
If you enjoy this epicness, check out the "Talsker Wölfe", fine headbashing I tell ye!
mega epic how can I be down!!!
I agree!
Slightly confusing title because of the Epic Empires convention starting today in Germany.
Well there are a lot of great weapon/costume makers here in the UK not like in America were a lot of the people make there own stuff.
Needs more H.D. D8
wish i could go to this but going from glasgow on trains alone seems like a strech :(
With this sort of thing it always helps to join up with some other people, both to help with travel/transport arrangements and pehaps get a common theme going with the characters.
I`m Edinburgh based myself and currently asking around to gauge if there`s any others in the local LARP community to see if ther`s any interest.
There is a group of folk that already go down from Glasgow :-) So you wouldn't be on your own ;-) Someone might even have space in the car! (If you know the NEST some of those folks are Empire players too).
Carly Strang yeah I had thought of that. I joined the NEST facebook group a few months back. still gotta go to one of their games and meet them though.. :P
Just to update things somewhat.
Any Scottish based LARP players that want to get involved might find this forum usefull.

that could be pretty helpful, thanks.although whether i actually go this year or not depends on if i can find work and save some cash, LARPing looks expensive
When is this? Where is this?
In England in the midlands a bit south of Derby.
It`s a quarterly fest type LARP game thats been going for about a year now!
I get it. :)
wow
And anybody is wearing a real helmet... ;-) Protecting your head is the first rule in medieval (or fantasy) combat ;-)
Would be nice to hear what the people are saying instead of just the voice over.
See I like larp, it's fun but I like it to be a little more logical. Why bother wearing a decent amount of plate armor and then have nothing on your head? She didn't even have a padded coif.
It's not. It really isn't. You could definitely afford a cheap larp helmetade of 18g mild steel if you could afford the rest of your body to be protected. Especially greaves
The system is shit
Tiny Roman I must be a "noob" if I have been a larper for a couple of decades then.
This shit can't be real... I mean... does any of these people have a job ?
this is a hobby like anything else. you're out being social and having a good time with your mates. i think it's healthy, haven't been to a LARP myself, but i'm thinking about it.
dude seriously yes we have jobs, we save money to buy the tickets for these events, the costumes, the armour, the weapons, the tents. Its real. Its an incredible site. I only regret that we cannot have film of events anymore and see it all in the its splendour.
leithafae I like to hear people talk About it more Than I do watching it. tabletop weekly made some videoes About Empire. Thats what got me to make a character and start making my costume. incredible what people expeiance at these LARPs
To answer Le Tette, I am team leader for the ice cream sales at my local theme park. I work weekdays and weekends. Most of my friends in the hobby have very high level jobs as well.
For the orginisers this IS their job. For everbody else its a hobby they take part in a few times a year.
Great times helping make this video, even in my own small supporting role. It is awesome to see Empire doing so well these days. Long live the Empire!
