Why is everything about money and becoming famous? I’m not a rapper but I still have the logical sense to know that rap is a form of art that people enjoy doing. He speaking the truth. He not saying quit your dream of rapping, but let's be real, if you in your 30's and up, got a kid on the way, you gotta be realistic and get a job to handle your responsibilities. In other words don't just have a dream to rap without working on the side to at least pay your bills and feed your kid and keep a roof on your head, or your just gonna be going in the studio bumming it in other people house saying " When I get signed we gonna be set for life!". (Meanwhile your child is in a room of a random person house crying cause he or she is hungry and now you gotta come up with another plan to beg for money and saying when you "make it" that you gonna pay them back🤦)

But most rappers that blew up in their late 20s to 30s because they been in and out of jail like Maino who was 35 when he first came out and I was surprised how old he was 😂
Record Labels dont encourage older rappers because by that age you're not as naive and quick to sign anything they put in front of you. Now I do agree at some point if music doesnt work perhaps the skills and knowledge you picked up along the way can be useful in a different avenue. But I feel like that older model of the music industry wont change until someone of that age blows up and changes it. All it takes its one person to make it and it changes everything.
Rick Ross was older, Eminem was 26 when he popped. Nelly was 28 when he popped, Jay Z was 26 when he popped. Mid to late 20’s is when a rappers have sum real shit to talk about.
Eminem poped because he was a white boy who got signed by Dre in the 90s, jayZ poped because he took all that crack money and put it into his production company and the rest are anomalies which is just further proving his point

If you chasing your dream, and you haven’t caught them by the time you’re damn near 30… find something lucrative you can ACTUALLY catch, my guy.
@@neverfailneveru can live your dream at any age , there’s no age limit onnit
@@suwxp this is a patently immature and naive belief. If a man isn’t mature enough to know when the window of opportunity has closed on a “dream,” then he’s still a child. That’s why it’s called “growing up.” Men know when it’s time to move on and find another path.
Shid I can’t even remember my dreams! Let’s start there 😅
@@neverfailneverthese guys don't know about the sunk cost falicy
LMAO Charles 🤣
The CRAFT needs more rappers who add Wisdom to the culture with SKILLS.
CW's opinion is based on an outsider thinking HIP HOP is about clout, money, gimmicks and fame.
You can still be ALL about your business and still have success rapping.
*Griselda
*Money Man
*Larry June
A few names of successful rappers over 30 who give NO F*CKS about people judging them by their "age".
Charleston... YOU would be wack at rapping. When you TALK people feel you. When you rap it would probably sound like a parody.
Either their songs are GOOD or they aren't.
Every rapper at EVERY age needs to be realistic with themselves, so I'll give you help Charleston doesn't have the GIFT to give you.
If YOU play your music and NEVER hear anybody say "Play that again."
You need to either get better or quit.
That's right. I don't care if your hustle makes you successful eventually.
We DON'T need any more wack rappers who sound the same with no SUBSTANCE in their music FEMALE RAPPERS included.
The next person who will blow up knows they need to do the OPPOSITE of what CW is talking about because THAT'S THE POSITIVE SHIFT WE NEED and only NEW WAVES stand out among the rest.
If people FEEL you than you have the GIFT that can't be taught or taken away by simply turning 30.
KEEP PUSHING ✍️🏾✨️🎶💯
Realist comment 💯
Great comment - I would rather run the business instead of being a damn rapper!
Talk yo shit Charleston!! 💪🏾
If you are doing anything and NOT making money from it consistently..it;s a hobby. Periodt 💯
This is true. You need to know when to throw away the towel. One door closes, but many others open. Be adaptable and try out new opportunities. Being a musician or entertainer in general is a young man's / woman's game. It's just the way it is.
However, you can still be a music producer, producing for other artists. You can create your won record label, be a manager, A&R Executive, etc.
Why is everything about money and becoming famous? I’m not a rapper but I still have the logical sense to know that rap is a form of art that people enjoy doing. Some people do it for a hobby because they really enjoy doing it, they are not doing it to be notice or for financial gain. Just like you can have a passion for many other things like sports, writing, acting and so on, don’t mean you are looking to get paid for it.
And Benny the butcher, Conway, and Westside Gunn
perfect examples. dont ever stop
Rick Ross Future Freddie Gibbs Da Baby
Damn I’m 30 & I’m Really Good At Music. All My Homies & Family Be At Me That I Feel Like I’m Too Old To Still Want To Do Music But CW Just Inspired Me To Be A Ghost Writer Or Just Do behind The Scenes Work 🙏🏾
We have to protect this man
I stopped 2 years ago and im 25..im looking into videography
nigga u were 23 y would u stop wtf
Real spill 💯….glad I quit the dream, if I do write something it’s literally for fun. But nah that ain’t the way no more
Nah bruh 2chainz been spitting 😂. Some of his lines are simple for digestion but he got bars.
@ApolloBobTom 14 cars man you niggas two weeeeek !
It funny how CW & Shawn are so much against rappers when rappers made both of them millionaires. W/O it wouldn’t be no interviews or Saycheese IG charging aspiring rappers $500 per post 😂
Just stop rapping dude. I know you a struggle rapper mad at the truth and just don't grow up. 😂

He's Right Tho. Everybody Wanna Be A Rapper.
This a hard pill to swallow…
It’s not. It’s actually propaganda from the Jewish exacts he hates. They put that out there because they know older people will get a lawyer and read the contracts. We’re the only genre that has an age limit.
@@BearFaceTV yup
I mean he has a point, what I would do is master song writing. Song writing is more important & could actually get you in the door.
(Meanwhile your child is in a room of a random person house crying cause he or she is hungry and now you gotta come up with another plan to beg for money and saying when you "make it" that you gonna pay them back🤦)
Damn you post early in the morning lol
For the past 4 years this how felt as a rapper! 🤦🏽♂️💯
There is a difference between rappers who are serious artists who build longterm sustainable careers and those who view it as a get rich scheme and imitate whatever is possible, the same ones who do viral videos clout chasing to make a buzz, since their music hardly ever stands out from the rest of the oversaturated market
I was making music in high school and stopped before I joined the army and I never thought about coming back….the fire is not burning as bright like it was when I was 15-18 than now at 28
Kendrick and Cole evolve every new project
Follow your heart and passion
No use your brain. The majority of these rappers are broke 95% of them don't own anything of their songs, and the money they make is going to the record label that signed them they litterly walk away with 300k to 400k after thats litterly a weekly wage of a average to above European football ⚽️ players weekly salary. Even streamers and gamers are making more than rappers
@@sulaman4280that’s rappers dats signed alr , not rappers who are small , u can be an underground rapper n still make money if you have a solid fan base
He's right but it's a difference when you're a boss that raps, a few names are 2 Chainz Rick Ross young Dolph and Jay-Z are all names that made it later in their career and have more assets at this point of time now then a lot of rappers that started early in their career
Teezo Touchdown is 31 and just blew up. Clever 30+ blew up a few years ago. Action Bronson was 30, danny brown was 30, dababy was 28, the Griselda dudes, benny, westside and conway all 30 plus and blew up. Symba is 30 something just blew up last year. Saint jhn just blew up at 33-34. They say anything for clicks, if you listen to Charleston white on any topic you will fail.
Being a millionaire nowadays really isn't impressive or that much money.
I don’t think they should ever stop. But what you rap about needs to change. I’m late 30s and I consume what I can relate too. If you talking about smoking investing family spirituality I’m prob listening
Understand what he saying look at professional sports coaches a lot of them didn’t play pro ball they went into coaching to help develop young athletes 💯
What people need to hear I still rap but I got content
Rap for as long as you can afford it and still pay your bills

This is facts I’m 27 so maybe I should rethink this idea… people in my circle rap so I started myself it’s fun but in reality it’s not paying bills plus I’m not a street nigga who been to jail so I don’t have the clout. Maybe I should put this energy towards something else Im already a musician 👀
That's for down sourh rappers. East coast rappers, Wale, J cole, Drake, Meek Mill, Dave East still doing it
Charleston on point with this one. Juicy J been doing the same thing since the 90s and it’s still working
Facts always
😒😂 okay Becky
But most rappers that blew up in their late 20s to 30s because they been in and out of jail like Maino who was 35 when he first came out and I was surprised how old he was 😂
Plies blew up in his 30’s!!! 💯🤷🏾♂️
I'm 55yrs old and been a gay porn dancer since the 90s,
Record Labels dont encourage older rappers because by that age you're not as naive and quick to sign anything they put in front of you. Now I do agree at some point if music doesnt work perhaps the skills and knowledge you picked up along the way can be useful in a different avenue. But I feel like that older model of the music industry wont change until someone of that age blows up and changes it. All it takes its one person to make it and it changes everything.
Jayz
2chainz
Ross
Plies
Da baby
Most artists don’t pop off rip that’s why they say it don’t happen over night, it happen once you make that hit.
@davonwillard7769 it's multiple of independent rappers making good money off youtube alone don't need fame to be successfull in music my guy
Those guys had way more passion along with substance. Nearly Every rapper being promoted now just saying they a “hitta” and shoot..now real story

How can anybody love this shit as it is rn. Its done with. The train doesn't stop when it grains to a halt. It stops when it stops moving. Then it coasts for a few then grinds to a halt eventually. This rap train stopped moving long ago but its not gonna grind to a halt. Its just gonna keep coasting.
If rapping is your true passion the don't do it for the money/fame. If you really love something you don't just give up just because you encounter a speed bump.
It’s a young mans sport but an old man’s business . Baaaaaars🔥
nice play on the move you did for omi w the whips
I wish I could agree but every year there is more and more new rappers blowing up making money . Don't mean the music is good. Sex drugs and murder will always sell
This man telling niggaz not to rap at 30 then turn around and say if he could rap at 46 , he would . Make it make sense
Rappin pays big time
I fuks with Charleston but he got me fuked up ain’t no turning around quitting is not in me..

“Yeah yeah nah” 🤣
Saying 2 Chainz has elementary raps because of that 1 bar is crazy
This dude waited till he was 40 to become a comedian FOH lol
Facts
These days Battle Rappers get paid more than streaming Rappers...
A few battles lined up every month can atleast pay the rent...but them streams barely pay pennies.
That should tell you something about the industry. There is so much overhead to push some rapper in peoples faces.
The Jaws are shifting the blk community 😂
It’s a Young man sport, but an Old man’s game
In other words, ignorance sells, talent don't matter. There ya go.
This is ridiculous after 27 years old really, stop creating art, stop trying to give inspiration, that’s ridiculous, that’s another reason black people don’t have ownership in hip hop, there never thinking of longevity and growth.
