James could have some Bugatti or really fast car in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and he would still obey the speed limit, use indicators and wait for the lights to turn green
In a zombie appocalyspe you want to save fuel not waste it.
@@gravemind6536 Minus the "wait for the lights", as it would take away from your momentum, wear very slightly on the brakes, and use fuel as you accelerate away. Indicators could probably attract zombies in the dark, and a loud motor won't help you if you're a sitting duck.

Both of these trucks are badass, but in all honesty I'd prefer whichever vehicle the camera crew is driving.

What is actually more funnier is the fact that Mr Slow got lost and was on the wrong mountain, leaving Hammond to fend for him self for several more days. Meanwhile Clarkson was already back at the airport having a zesty drink.

I love how the Raptor is designed for crazy off-road driving like they did in this episode, meanwhile the Silverado is designed for towing... two trucks designed for two entirely different purposes

Momentum is key but ya he took that a bit too much to heart 😂 especially with snow chains on you're supposed to be extremely careful not to spin the tires too much.

heavy is better in snow. sinking to where there is grip is better unless its really deep then light and fast is better. but in this scenario a heavy 3 quarter ton is better

As an American fan of Top Gear, I have always wanted them to do a serious test of American cars and trucks. I would bet a paycheck that you can not find a better vehicle for the money than the American pickup truck. They are built for work, play and everything in between and ordinary people can afford them (minus any tariffs). They are also built to last some here having over a million miles on the odometer.

+mabutoo They sure do work well in America. The only other place in the world I can see big pickups catching on is Australia,
the last few years I'm seeing more and more American pickup trucks despite the massive price tag of $100,000 plus which would go down if they were brought here directly.
But even then our market along with the rest of worlds is filled with the smaller pickups Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, VW Amarok, Holden Colorado, Isuzu D-max, Mazda BT-50, Mitsubishi Triton, Toyota Landcruiser 79 series, all of them and then to introduce American big pickups at a even higher price it's a risk since the market is flooded already.
Though the new raptor is going to be sold here, so just going to wait and see.
I guy lives down the road from me has a lifted silverado and it makes my Landcruiser look small it's weird.
+mabutoo I'd take a Tundra over the big 3 any day. Not one of them have even finished the Baja 1000 in the stock class. Irony is the ridgeline, Lexus LX, Landcruiser and Tundra have all finished and even won their respective classes before.

The Ford plant closed in Australia. That and the tariffs are what I believe make them more expensive there. I have heard if the Raptor is popular that Ford plans to return to you which will make other models available and cheaper and since they will be built for right hand drive it will open the market to other countries.

I love how much they loved the trucks, especially after how much guff they gave American pickups and Americans in general. Honestly, half of their preconceived notions about pickups probably had 100% to do with the usual drivers, not the vehicles.

Kendell Clarke I don't think they exist there. The 4x4 market is completely overrun by Land Cruisers and Land Rovers everywhere else in the world AFAIK. If it can't be carried in a hatchback or a wagon, I think they just hire a "lorry".

+braaap850 yep it was not a fair battle but the fact that the silverado didn't make it to the top by carefully driving as you seen in the video is still a fail the truck broke its axle with just captain slow on the wheel. Clearly these guys were playing its clear the raptor would win but breaking an axle is a different story.

Ok, Why does Jeremy get a Hennesey built Raptor and James gets an LTZ Chevrolet 2500HD that is off the lot? Honestly, if the Chevrolet had been improved by Banks Power or some other major performance shop like Hennesey, it would have been a much more even match up. Just saying.
Probably Ford arranged to send that truck to them to borrow, GM must not have cared and just sent them a off the lot one. The manufacturer has a lot of say in what they get to borrow for the show.
