It can be the goalie play, not the offense, that can take Leafs further in play offs. It was Stolarz, not Austin, who saved the win against Devils in over Time, although Matthews scored the decisive overtime goal. In game itself it was Devils who dominated the game overwhelmingly. They had at least ten good chances to score More, but Stolarz saved them ALL.
Under Dubas goaltending was undervalued. They had a chance to get BOB when they didnt want to pay up I thought they were crazy. That said Stolarz is taking advantage of making it or breaking it. The guy has a chance for the first time to be a top goalie in League....Only concern I had was when they played Oilers. Last min in game the guy looked nervous lost his composure and they scored. They just need to give the guy a chance to play in those situations. No easy games. They need to play him against the best to see if he can play in high pressure situations. I prefer him to Woll though.
Being a leaf fan since Palmateer, I can relate to Sammy. I love the Bourne/Kypreos duo. They don’t always agree and have different opinions. So that’s why this is one if not the best leaf podcast! Sorry Dangle, you guys are too liberal for my liking!
The leafs are playing solid overall team D, that's the difference, being accountable in your own end, hard back checking, that's a winning hockey club, Hard Work. Will they keep that up, they look really good to me and I'm an old Boston hockey guy.
If I were a Leafs fan, I'd like to have a side of cookies served up with that shut'er down sandwich. This show is significantly more entertaining than the leafs...
