A little late to this, but a very impressive reaction to this popular pairing. Don't know if this has been touched on elsewhere, but to possibly help a little with the enunciation (please have a look at the many sites on the web that offer pointers on pronunciation), "most" Japanese words tend to have the strongest accent on the 1st syllable, rather than the 2nd or 3rd, as English speakers often read them. So, in this case, "HO'mura" rather than "hoMOO'ra". That said, in the case of "Akatsuki" the first "A" is almost an afterthought, like starting a sentence with a quiet "Uhh" sound, so in this case it would read more like "aKA'tski" rather than "akaTSOOki". The "u" in this case is virtually silent. Then there are the instruments: Shamisen (SHAH'mee sen) - 3-string "banjo" played with a large "bachi" (BAH'chee = plectrum) Shakuhachi (SHAH ku Hah'chee) - Japanese bamboo flute Koto (KOH' to) - Horizontal stringed "harp" Wadaiko (wah DYE ko) - Japanese drums pounded with thick drumsticks (also called bachi) Again, very much enjoyed your reaction.
