  • This one isn't a poke vlog, just a quick rundown of what you want to pick up before you ever start poking and why you need it. I know a lot of people will cut corners and use household cups for ink or graphite pencils and speed stick for stenciling. This is what, I feel, is the bare minimum for a sanitary stick and poke tattoo experience.

Some places actually take laundry detergent bottles or bleach bottles as sharps containers! Just fill it only 3/4 of the way with sharps and you might be able to go to your nearest sharps disposal center or somewhere that accepts sharps. Just make sure that they accept sharps in that kind of container.

😳 i love you 😳 hahaha more seriously..
question a: how long after opening the gallon of dist.water should you throw it out?
question b: how does the stencil liquid works? put on skin, then place stencil?
question c: (visual learner here, haven't watched all your vids YET).. so once stencil is on skin.. you..
    1.put vaseline on skin
    2.poke
3.wipe excess ink with paper towel & green soap mix?
    4. repeat 1-2-3 i'm guessing?
    5. once done: clean, disinfect & protect?
    😅😅😅

Hello and thank you! First of all, the distilled water question is a great one, because I actually hadn't thought enough about it. Going down a research rabbit hole right now and will for sure include a segment about it in my next video. From what I understand so far, unopened distilled water is good for 2 years if stored in a dark, cool place. I'm going to start getting packs of smaller bottles of it because once its opened, it should probably be used relatively quickly. I'm going to be honest, I've had mine for about 9 months, and it doesnt smell like algae at this time but I'm not playing it exactly safe here. Opened distilled water should be refrigerated if possible, kept sealed and used within 9-12 months max.
Stencil Stuf needs a thin layer that's had a couple minutes to dry + get tacky feeling, so you're using the pressure of your hand to make the transfer instead of bleed from the liquid. Takes some getting used to, especially because dry skin might suck up the liquid, but fake skin won't absorb any at all. Stencil, once on, has to air dry for 10-20 minutes if possible. Once thats dry, a thin layer of lubricant, poke and dab excess ink as you go, so its easier to clean when you do wipe it down with your green soap solution. Most folks repeat 2-4 times, I will often do more because some pokes don't take- still figuring out the factors causing that.
Thanks again for your questions, sorry for the really long response!

I noticed you use the protective layer at the end for stencilling? Is that because it works better for you?

I definitely prefer the onion sheet because of its transparency- plus it seems easier to mold to the body without getting creases in it. I do plan on playing around with both more in the future, because I might be missing out on stencil clarity by doing it this way... Thank you for asking!
