The Vandals are carrying out a nasty plan: they have enlisted a terrible horde of stinging jellyfish to sow terror in the Bay.
But the mermaids aren’t able to respond: Rikki grounded, wrongly accused of calling in a fire alarm at school, and Cleo has to help care for swimmers stung by the jellies.
Before they can recover the Bay, deserted by its terrified underwater inhabitants, the mermaids have to clear Rikki’s name and find the real culprit: Miriam, who was trying to skip class to go to the sales!
Then they can go fight the Vandals and their jellyfish, discovering on the way an unexpected ally: the fearsome giant octopus, awakened in a bad mood by the stinging jellyfish: the octopus goes on the warpath and hunts down the little stingers. End of the reign of the Vandals!

Emma, Cleo and Rikki are exploring Mako Island, a mysterious volcanic island off-limits to visitors, when they fall into an underground cavern with a beautiful natural lake.
The three teenagers can’t resist diving into the emerald green waters... While they are swimming around, they are overcome by a sweet drowsiness, and they forget everything. Night falls, and the full moon rises over the pool, through the chimney of the extinct volcano. Magical light rains down on them as they bathe. Suddenly Emma, Rikki and Cleo undergo an incredible transformation: they turn into mermaids...!
Back on dry land, they realize this strange spell has turned their lives upside-down for good: whenever they touch water, they transform into mermaids! As if they don’t have enough problems already as teenagers, now they have to learn to live with this secret, which can be a heavy burden at times.
Luckily they can count on their friendship, as well as all their new underwater friends, to help them in all the exciting adventures and funny situations awaiting them, on land and in this new undersea world.
