Always drive fast next to cops. They will usually be impressed and give you points on your license. If you collect enough of these points, you can win prizes! Like... a new license.
you can say that a thousand times, a lot of people will say "hell yeah! I can go fast!", but should they? Most of them can't even grasp the fundamentals of everyday driving, much less the fundamentals of driving fast and safely. "Everything can be solved putting the pedal to the metal amirite?!".
My technique is straight line no matter what. If there is a roundabout, drive over it, if there is a sharp bend, plough straight on. That way you will be sure to reach a good and safe speed
that is actually true, euro-beat helps me when i drive especially when dealing with stupid drivers however it should be listened to in small burst. no more then 40 mins to an hour. also breaks are necessary XD
No it's only a good idea if its anime music or Russian pop. Maybe even a combination of animes, Russian pop, trap, and slow rap in the middle of the song.
"Playing Loud Music" Eurobeat is not included. It would decrease reaction time by 100%. It also adds 50 hp and godlike techniques. Takumi Fujiwara Confirmed.
Stay calm when you get caught behind slower moving traffic. If you get angry with them for being slow I've found it moves your concentration away from driving. This means you make mistakes which could lead to an accident. But, and most importantly it takes the fun out of driving.
yeah, it's very important to stay calm and maybe (depending on the road and laws) thinking about how you can overtake in a save way, without risking too much
Ultigameriowan it's one thing if you want to do 70 in a 50 and they're going 55, it's another thing though when the traffic in front of you is doing 7 in a no passing zone, cause that's what happened to me today
That is stupid. Doing 7 is like your vehicle is disabled. Something similar happened to me where there was a very slow driver in a no passing single lane and at first there was no one behind me, but I look again and suddenly there is a huge traffic jam all caused by that 1 turtle driver! >:(
SI0AX yeah, in their defense though there were quite a few pedestrians around due to a bunch of yard sales in the area, and they had an out of state plate
My fast driving tip: don't do it in the city. bonus tip: assume 90% of the other people on the road are complete idiots and thus drive defensively. That means alot of people in fast cars are idiots and I myself have seen proof of that.
As a motorcyclist as well as a car enthusiast, I'll share an important lesson; Assume 100% of other people on the road are complete idiots. Do not be complacent!
Aristocrafied actually I don't understand what's ment by “fast“??? 60 mp/h??? I know only one place to drive fast: Autobahn in Germany (actually just some %). last year I ALMOST shot into an britisch mini bus switching to the fastest lane - which is INDEED ! - the very LEFT one! I was @ 140 mp/h, he @ 60. full, I mean full, on the brakes one hand on the horn one on the flash light and in the very last moment he realised and turned to the middle lane again. I reduced my speed to his, still on the brakes, when I was next to his drivers door. obviously too late IF he didn't turn back. I am still here and can add: 1 always think of the unexpected 2 often you have to react fast and with emphases
Well I want to give you all guys a tip: Dont do it on the city and not on a public road. Go to the racetracks instead to push your cars or accidents will happen sooner or later... even if you manage to keep your car on the right side of the road someone elese might not.. so please speed up only during controlled situations...
"Playing loud music"" dont play eurobeat loud. its gonna decrease reactions timing by 100% and give you godlike techniques. and makes you go sideways at a corner and cant forget it adds 50 hp more
I have played Eurobeat in my shitty Ford Ka mk1 many times on my favourite b road. No regrets at all. The short gearing and the wheel at each corner design make it sooooo so fun to drive. Note: I only hoon down that road very late at night.
I usually do 225kmph/140mph on the German Autobahn: My Checklist: Speed up only if the road ahead is straight and clear Look out for cars in the other lane ahead of you who might misjudge your speed Practice hard breaking on an open stretch of road with no traffic to do your best when you need this skill the most Get comfortable with the car for a few days or months before testing its limits Only do such speeds in Germany in no speed limit zone or a race track. Nowhere else!
Do you check your tires? At high speed pressure increases dramatically. A sudden tyre explosion due to fatigue can happen if the tyre is old or weared.
It really sucks being in the US having to drive 16+ hours and having to do it at 70 mph. I'll take my lil 328i up to 90 in the really desolate parts, but until my dreams of a European delivery come to fruition, I'm stuck on the lower half of the speedometer.
Great advice. The german autobahn is so fun to drive on! Recently drove to austria through germany (im from the netherlands) and did 180kmh in a 2nd gen fiat panda haha. Was only really possible downhill, but damn was it fun
Use your brain and take in account other driver's possible stupidity. In other words, you might as well go to a track because on public roads there will always be an idiot around that is too busy watching his cellphone or is completely oblivious to what is happening in any of his mirrors. On public roads a golden rule in your car is: always assume the worst...and don't get mad when it actually turns out to be reality.
My dad often drills that into my head since i live in a third world country and road rules are basically non-existent everywhere is basically the auto-ban
Tim Kreukels Same here. Leaving work last Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I let my RX8 warm up but not the tires. Took off and punched it in second on a left turn. Then proceeded to go almost completely sideways one way and then the other before I reeled her back in. I learned a valuable lesson that day; don't mess around on cold tires especially with RWD 😬
And if you're not going on a track, check road conditions and usage. nothing's worse than seeing a beautiful, car-empty road that's full of cyclists :(
Francisco Pereira a plane pilot does this every time he is going to fly... perhaps car racing isn't as deadly as a plane when hardware fails, but that is a great recommendation.
Epic Supercars I found the car that i want for my first car. Its a smaller sports car, and its just how I want it. Though there is one problem, its an automatic. I really want a manual because everyone says that its much more fun driving a sports car with a manual transmission, but i have been looking forever, and still haven't found a manual version in my price range. I know that I need an automatic for my first car just for safety, but if I could drive a manual then I could drive anything. also once I get used to driving I feel like I would regret buying an automatic because I already get bored while driving an automatic. So should i go ahead, and get the automatic or should i wait for a manual. Sorry for the random question I just need help.
yeah! turning volume down means less total sensory input. your brain has to process less information so it can focus more on what's important. science is crazy.
Noah Bishop: Why do you say that you need an autotragic as your first car for safety? If you practice away from traffic then it's better to learn manual, plus in some countries (like here in ZA) you're limited by your licence. If you do your drivers test with an auto, you'll get an automatic-only licence. I learned to drive in a manual '87 Mazda 323, and it's really not a problem. Personally I'd wait for a manual, unless you plan on having more than one car. As an owner of both (granted, it's an old 3-speed, I only drive old cars), I can confirm that you'll be missing out big time with an auto.
I think you forget the basic thing of racing. Slow in fast out. This can save you from hitting the tree or it can give you some seconds if you are on some racing track.
Can I make a serious comment and tip for younger drivers. Dont drive your 1996 toyota corrola or other shit box as though it was a focus rs or a like on mountain/Canyon road. You may think you are Colin McRae but when you get something wrong ESC and ABS wont be there to save you. I have personally fished my friend out of his overturned car at the base of a valley when he locked all 4 wheels on a hairpin, he drove it straight off a cliff into a tree which flipped it on to its roof. He was lucky to sustain no injuries. You may not be. Moral of this comment is to have fun, but drive to the limits of your car and not your perceived ability.
Definitely, and I think discovering the limits of your car is important, even basics like driving round an empty car park and seeing how it responds when you turn the wheel and brake hard. I always do this in a new car I get so I know if a crisis happens how it will handle and in what ways I can push it.
Focus RS is probably in more danger than the 96 Corolla... just doesn't have the HP or Torque to push that hard and most will know their car is a shitbox. Focus people think they're all rally sport drivers now... and it definitely has more than enough power to get dumb aggressive drivers in trouble on a mountain pass. AWD won't help one bit if you punch 350hp at the wrong time. I definitely suggest people screw around in HS parking lot though. Learn your cars mechanics and exactly how it feels.
@@ocallaghan3865 damnn what a throwback it really been 2 years since that happened haha ive had my license revoked and must have like 12 points and been in and out of court some things clearly dont improve over time nice 😂
+clayton8or_2 I accidentally did that in my fathers automatic. So used to driving a manual, I went to change down gears and nearly head butted the windscreen. Poor bastard behind me nearly shat themselves. Only did it the once mind!
the trick I used when I was trying to learn was to slowly position the left foot on top of the brake, and then feeling it by aplying more pressure. I learned to feel the brake by doing this with the car in neutral in a descent at night and then by stoping it at home. Now it feels almost natural to do it, and I can assure you, it is worth the time needed to learn
Auto Gear I wanted an old demon for my first car lol. It never happened. Funny thing though, the first challenger i ever got to drive was a hellcat. An amazing car but one that needs to be respected. In the wrong hands I can see it going wrong fast. Hell even the 5.7 hemi cars can get unruly if you step on it.
Rev matching downshifts, especially with spirited driving and most most especially while entering a corner/mid corner. Aside from the obvious (maintaining chassis balance/stability) it significantly reduces wear on the synchros as well as allows for faster down shifts. Use it in every day, casual driving for practice and increased transmission longevity.
I love the references to bikers. we don't get enough credit for how much thinking, intuition, skill, and critical thinking we put into riding on a daily basis.
I feel it like a psychological thing cause I been to both on bike and car I'm same too not really caring that much while in car but a lot while in bike most bike accidents happen cause they face adrenaline rush but most car accident happens cause of not Caring and the reason I think is the over comfortablity that comes in cars while bike always makes you feel to stay aware
Sabine Rifle if your instructor told you to cross your arms and NOT feed the wheel then you are going to fail your test instantly. Never cross your arms and always feed the wheel on your test.
panvlk I've only seen that on english videos. Can't speak for everybody but i don't think Europe is using that technique. We been told to separate our hands for faster and efficient turning in our wet/frost training track.
panvlk It's not mandatory to use 'Pull push' in the UK driving test, although it used to be. Smaller steering wheels and better steering ratios have eroded the need for it these days. And trust me, most learner drivers can't do it properly anyway, they just do tiny shuffles of the wheel. But it isn't "nonsensical". Done *properly*, it's a useful technique for tighter turns in normal, everyday driving and can be mixed with fixed grip steering and rotational (hand over hand) to cover any circumstance.
LegendInThaMakin That is a physical impossibility. Actual science, as opposed to a UA-cam 'expert'. The coefficient of friction is always reduced in the wet, but you'll probably only find out when you really need that extra grip to avoid an expensive interface with something solid. It's this kind of overconfidence that causes accidents.
installing a higher-spec (Leather) steering wheel from the same model/year has improved my weekend sports driving appreciably. Better grip, less effort to grip the wheel etc
My additional tips from experience: 1- Don't hit the brakes too quick even if you have ABS. Ease the on the brakes first until the weight shifts to the front, then you can press harder. 2- Brake in a straight line while you can. 3- Avoid full throttle on uneven/bumpy surface. 4- Make sure your tyre pressure is adequate.
All PRO tips. Trailbraking is a technique best learned on a closed course, and preferably with professional supervision. Otherwise, stick to what he said
Accelerating downhill is tricky since it always requires a lot of power especially when over taking and might make you careless and end up with no braking distance if a corner appears ahead. Practice is your everything Do not be foolhardy in unknown road or track. Knowing the road is half the driving and much more enjoyable for any driver
+Benedict Roose but before applying the 'stab-squezze' technique, notice in the rear veiw mirror to see how far any vehicles are behind you is mendatory.
Red Eye I'd agree with that , I rather Liked all of the forza series I liked and disliked forza 5 haven't played any more after Got PS4 But I didn't like the A,I cars in forza 5 being from other people's Driving, But the game play was really enjoyable . Drive club is pretty cool too.
I've been playing AC and Dirt Rally for a couple years now (500 hours or so) and ive very rarely needed to Trail-throttle, my arch nemesis is understeer, and since unless your driving the slidiest thing out there trail-throttling just causes more...
1 thing I would suggest, don't have any loose objects in the car. Put your phone away, no open liquids, no bags. Seems like common sense but I've seen it happen too many times!
TheCubing Nut yeah I got caught doing 175 km in a 100 km zone, lost mine for 2 weeks, and $1500 fine, moral of the story either invest in radar detector or just don't speed.
I used to race around the Highways of Los Angeles, California. One thing I learned right away was that "Just dont race on the streets" period! Stop Lights, Intersections, other cars, bikes and pedestrians are unpredictable. YOU are putting them at risk when you are racing around at high speeds. Solution? Get out on the Freeways or Highways in some cases where you will not encounter cross traffic, pedestrians, bicycles, or other major problems. Then all you have to worry about are slower moving vehicles that are traveling in the same direction as you. Choose a good time to do your fast drives like the early hours of the morning when there are very few vehicles on the freeways. Less stress for you and less stress for them. That was decades ago when you could use all lanes of the freeway for a 4-wheel power side at 140mph in a curve. Go in at the bottom and exit at the top, all without a roll cage or a helmut.... god I was stupid but hey still living decades later. No more racing for me.
The F-type used in the video doesn't appear to have adjustable headrest (but is flat and correct already). If you can adjust it, make sure the flat part is angled parallel to the back of your head and raised so that the back of your head when sent backwards lands in the middle. If you get this wrong and have an impact you could really screw your neck. Say if the head rest is tilted forward and only at the height of your neck. Adjustable headrest is there to help stop whiplash. Or to be removed and beat irritating passengers with on tiring road trips....
Ive been doing the same but with Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally, recently just got a 99 2.5rs and i dont even have my license yet... driven it with a passenger a few times (best car ive ever driven) and ive taken all ive known from those 500 hours on AC and DR and applied them perfectly. Ive had extreme doubt from older individuals who think racing sims are still things you play with a PS2 controller...
In the U.S. years ago we were taught differently. Two things that have changed are these: *Lower your hands*. You probably learned to keep your hands at the '10 and 2 o'clock' positions on the steering wheel. Today, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends drivers put their hands at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. One reason for the change is to potentially keep hands out of the way if the airbag deploys. ...and... *Don't cross over*. Drivers used to learn a hand-over-hand crossover method for turning the steering wheel. Now to execute a turn, your teen will be advised to 'push up' on one side of the wheel while 'pulling down' on the other.
I'm always scanning bridges that go over motorways and dual carrigeways for a cheeky police van sat on them. Always give a victory honk as I pass them to let them know they need to step up their game.
7: know when to slow down and never take chances, i.e. don't drive faster than you can stop on the road visible to you. Most people going fast enter bends too fast and still are slower. Fastest and safest on the road is 'slow in, fast out' of a corner.
For me it's brake just before the turn, hold the throttle at 50%-60% during the turn, smoothly go from 80% to 100% as the corner straightens out. I mention this because although what you say is true, any person who takes your advice should not that accelerating to hard out of a corner, can make your car spin out if it is a RWD, or understeer and go straight off the road if it is FWD.
Great video! I'd just like to add that if you got the right car for enjoying spirited driving, you should naturally prefer to listen to the engine over the stereo anyway.
Same, idk the point of being left or right side countries but honestly america is meant to kill the driver instead of the passenger. Imagine your friend having a load of drugs and throwing it under the seat, getting caught and blaming it on you cuz it's your car. Yes I know you've watched an episode of cops or live pd
He never said driving recklessly, he never said speeding, he never said crossing over the middle of the road for the optimal racing line. He even several times referred to these tips being ideal for track use. Welcome to the real world, where you are actually allowed to drive quickly. So long as you're not breaking the speed limit, obeying all other road laws,, you know what you're doing and you're driving a car that has been built to handle well you're not endangering anyone.
@KozmoCossak Yes. I drive fast when I know the roads and also know where the sidewalk is. If you are outside the city and no sidewalk in sight or hidden behind walls there shouldn't be a danger for pedestrians. And as long as you are driving curves where you see the oncoming traffic easily you can cut it without danger.
Marc Schlüter There's a method where you can dox someone by their license plate number and get their address, family, work, ssn, etc. pretty much everything. How do you know if some savage isn't going to do that and swat you or steal identity?
Watched this video so many times, even though i knew about all these things, as i love cars, but when i explained the balance shifting while in a corner if the car is not on load, my friend was like amazed, he never knew about such thing, not that he ever drives fast, but still, i bet there are a lot of people that have no idea about how much weight balance matters while cornering at speeds. Gj with the video, even after so many years :)
3 things that are very important and forgotten is. 1 KNOW YOUR CAR like brakes behaving in corner feel.. 2 DONT GO 2 FAST IN TO THE CORNER AND LIFT TRHOTTLE CAUSE YOU WILL CRASH AND MISS EXIT SPEED. brake late till car is setteled and be fast at the exit. 3 BE SMOOTH steering dont do jerking steering that will unsettle the car.
Practice learning the width of your car on the near side, I did this by brushing the mirror along over hanging weeds / bushes in the lanes near by(might want to duck tape it or something if the paint etc is important, once you understand the width of the car to the point it's second nature you can really improve cornering, I've raced a lot of BMWs and jags in the lanes over the years and not knowing the width of the car means I've kept up with them in much much lesser cars the worst one being an E46 touring vs my then smart forfour and he couldn't lose me because he just couldn't corner to save his life. Another one would be practice in the snow, as in, if it snows specifically go out at midnight with a mate and play about in it drifting / handbrake turns etc, if you do that for a couple of weeks while it snows you will have such a better understanding of how a car behaves when it's behaving badly to the point you see an exaggerated result of bad cornering technique that any other road conditions seem tame after that. I'd recommend doing it in shit box though, I buckled two wheels my first time :)
Those are mighty good tips ... I agree on all. I'd add braking... try to keep all braking on straight wheels. Braking on a turn is less than optimal as a car wants to go straight naturally, and more so under braking load.
I'd say use a manual gearbox or select manual shift on an automatic, that way you know exactly what the car is going to do as you go into and out of fast corners. Having said that, the "sports" setting can help but it cripples your fuel consumption!
That bit about picking the right time and place is key. In North Georgia (the US state) there are tons of fun mountain roads. If you try to drive on a weekend, you're gonna be on someone's bumper the whole time as they clinch in fear on the swervy s-curves and drive more slowly than is probably necessary. Go mid-day on a wednesday, though... it's like your own private race track. It was just me and the motorcyclists and a couple of bicyclists (be nice and slow down on approach and pass generously; they should get to enjoy these roads, too). Really, this is all excellent advice. Just the basics, but the most necessary information for having fun and staying safe.
Most important thing you forgot is "Pull instead of push" when turning the steering wheel. This way you feel exactly what the front tires are going threw.😉 It could be kinda hard and unnatural at first, but makes a huuge difference in car feel.
Great point. I instinctively do this when Im moving fast down winding roads or turns and such. And you're right- the amount of control is so much better. I just don't know where I learned it (no one ever taught me that.)
Agree with you, Apple, pulling is better than pushing the steer, but, for the last part, I thought it actually more natural to pull instead of push, except the driver is a boxer. :)
Be careful with left-foot braking and trailbraking especially with AWD and FWD cars since they could start to oversteer since weight is transferred to the front (very much like lift-off oversteer). Dont overdrive the car, stay compsed and do not make sudden inputs. On a track try to find the limits of you and your car by gradually increasing your speed. And most importantly THINK! You are not a professional driver even if you think you have mastered techneques like left-foot braking, trailbraking and throttle blipping there is still very much to learn, being fast does not only involve technique but often an understanding of the basic physics behind it to apply the right technique at the right time.
If I like don't even look at the time while driving with Eurobeat i suddenly achieve Fujiwara's Zone. Strange. Oh and btw there should be a: 1 Thing you Didn't Know You Were Doing Wrong When Driving *In The City* 1: Driving while listening to Eurobeat, cause i swear i got like 3 tickets because Eurobeat.
Honestly, do people really attempt to drive fast without two hands across the wheel at all times (except shifting ofcourse) ?.. And being a biker, thanks for the shoutout! It is indeed a balance of wanting to ride fast, and knowing when it's a good idea to not poke at fate to see if it moves :3
Daniel Kemnitz saw a video of a Guy in a camaro driving with one hand on the wheel in a straight line, well he lost control amd crashed since he was going 150mph. I was like what an idiot because when you Go fast you should always have Two hands on the wheel to have, max control
Have you seen the video of a guy who drove Rob Spaghetti's McLaren on the track and he was driving with one hand and ended up fucking the shit out of it... Yeah.
Saad Qureshi That's because it's an American car, it got sick and tired of being accused of not being able to corner and wanted to prove everyone wrong.
Text during the first 5 minutes to warm up your fingers. Look for interesting scenes around and turn your head with them, following them all around when passing them. Pro drivers can turn their neck up to 180 degrees. This is to increase your field of view and prepare you for whiplash. Also, stretch your legs before you drive off by putting one foot behind the headrest, one after another, of both, if you're trained. You may have to bail out through the headlight cavity after enjoying your drive.
The only tip I can think of, is never brake going into a corner (Or whilst going around it) Always brake in a straight light and carry the speed through it
Cost and shift your wait depending on the turn. Make sure that if your driving fast around tight turns where your hugging the turns and accelerating in the truns 1 use both lanes and use your turn signal 2 make sure your tires aren't bald or close to it 3 feel the car and the road and think 6 steps ahead of everyone on the road.
The most useful and vital tip is the position of both hands on the side of the steering wheel, but a lot of people just fail and put one hand on top, so this is why basic tips never get old, because people tend to fail at the basics
Remember that often times you are not on a track. It's fun to drive fast within the law. Otherwise, you are putting your life, as well as the lives of others, at risk.
I'm trying to say just have common sense about it. A 55mph object that weighs over 2000 lbs has the potential to be more dangerous than waking up. I often drive just for the fun of it, but I'm just saying be reasonable about what you're doing on the road. That's all.
Always run a test on the surface before carving corners, run the road/area with a "pacing" lap to get a feel for the speed on straits and through corners before actually driving in a spirited manner.
3:02 can someone explain this a bit better? Surely if you're coasting all the way from the start to end of the corner, you're weight distribution will be constant throughout? And if you're using throttle through the corner, you'll risk over/understeer Similarly if you brake through a bend, there's a good chance you could spin out
Gaz J In a turn, tyres generate drag. The direction of this drag force makes the car want to remain straight and not rotate through the turn. By being on throttle through the turn, you can balance out this drag, and then use load transfer to adjust the dynamic toe and cornering stiffness of the tyres to manage the way the car rotates through the turn. There are other reasons as well to do with torque vectoring, locking differentials, ackerman angles and transient response, but the main reason is to overcome tyre drag.
Depends on the corner, the car, the entry speed, what you need to accomplish in the bend, and what comes after the corner. If you are a bit too hot to make the apex and track-out, coasting for a bit will scrub speed and maybe save you. It is safer and potentially faster than straightening the wheel and applying brakes briefly to dump a tiny amount of speed while in the corner. "Coasting" in a FWD means engine braking the front wheels and they lose some cornering traction - depending on setup, this may result in understeer, or shift enough weight onto the front to make the tail come out. And either of these might be bad, but could also be helpful if you are trying to affect the rotation of the car through the corner. Same idea in RWD cars but the effect will be different. Ditto front vs mid vs rear engine cars, which all rotate differently. If the corner exit leads to another, potentially slower corner you might coast a bit, but the vast majority of the time you will accelerate from before the apex to the corner-exit even if it means braking hard before the next corner. Also, in turbocharged cars, you need to keep on the throttle in order to prevent being hit by a whomp of unsettling power as the lag ends at an inconvenient point in the bend. You have to find the technique that makes your car the most balanced and fastest, and each corner will be a bit different in that regard. It might not matter as much if you are driving a quick-accelerating car, but doing it right is how David can keep up with Goliath. The objective of almost every corner is to keep the car balanced and moving in such a way as to come out of it at the fastest speed possible, in order to be going as quickly as you can down the ensuing straight. Coasting is almost never the answer. But this is best done on a track, as you'll get into lose-your-license territory very quickly on a road with this technique.
"Keep your hand _off_ the gear shift unless you're actually making a gear change - then immediately put it back on the steering wheel." Too may people seem to think they can't move their hand back to the shifter fast enough for the next change.
Like I said, unless you're actually making a change. But once you make that change, if you get wheel spin, then you definitely should have both hands on the steering wheel, so you can maintain control when the rear steps out of line. Leaving one hand on the shifter just means you only have one hand to steer with while the car is getting sideways - and it increases wear on the gearbox, particularly the selector forks.
Even with short ratios, if you have time to move your hand, then you should. After all, there's always that chance of breaking traction, and your steering inputs will be more accurate and smoother if you use both hands. Plus, if you do break traction, then it will actually be slightly longer between shifts, as you will need to regain grip before the vehicle can finish accelerating to its next shift point (remembering that vehicle speed is not the same as indicated speed if you're spinning your wheels.) PS: if Domnic Toetto uses the gearshift as a hand rest...all the more reason _not_ to do so yourself. :-P
I find that using the friction of the turn to slow your car down as you progressively steer into it is a good way to get your max speed safely. Obviously you can turn late but progressive movement is always safest. Learning how to give your car a hair of throttle is good for slow and fast driving.
actually that is exactly when you need to be moving as fast as possible. if you hit a deer and it survives and gets away your insurance won't cover the damage and trying to dodge it can and most likelly will lead to a crash taht is much worse than just road killing the deer fuull force. also (trust me) runing over a deer slowly enough for it to be fataly wounded but still alive is no fun. so your best course of action in the event of a deer is to hit it with as much force as possible ideally you should make sure that it's dead before it hits the ground. then slowly decelerate and stop, call the cops, and secure the site of the crash.
Bingo, we have a winner. The only two situations where driving at night is more dangerous would be driving in an unknown area, or finding somebody with their lights off (highly unlikely).

Yeah, and a good way to stay calm is force yourself to keep proper distance and not tailgate them, waiting for any chance to overtake.
Do not be complacent!
noxious89123 Good man. That is exactly what I tell everyone who starts riding a bike. Saved my skin more than once.
I am still here and can add:
1 always think of the unexpected
2 often you have to react fast and with emphases
Well I want to give you all guys a tip:
Dont do it on the city and not on a public road.
Go to the racetracks instead to push your cars or accidents will happen sooner or later... even if you manage to keep your car on the right side of the road someone elese might not.. so please speed up only during controlled situations...
Richard Forsell Your advice may be right but it makes me sad...we don't have racetracks because they are illegal...can you believe this shit?
Top tip: Don't Be The Prick On The Road. 👍 Drive fast but drive safe.
There's a lot of dumbass drivers here in the Philippines Hahaha!
Luv luv luv ur comment. You said it PERFECTLY 👌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
That's why 4am is the best. You can drive as fast as possible cuz there's like 3 cars on the highway
"Playing loud music""
dont play eurobeat loud. its gonna decrease reactions timing by 100% and give you godlike techniques. and makes you go sideways at a corner and cant forget it adds 50 hp more
I have played Eurobeat in my shitty Ford Ka mk1 many times on my favourite b road. No regrets at all. The short gearing and the wheel at each corner design make it sooooo so fun to drive. Note: I only hoon down that road very late at night.
I usually do 225kmph/140mph on the German Autobahn:
My Checklist:
Speed up only if the road ahead is straight and clear
Look out for cars in the other lane ahead of you who might misjudge your speed
Practice hard breaking on an open stretch of road with no traffic to do your best when you need this skill the most
Get comfortable with the car for a few days or months before testing its limits
Only do such speeds in Germany in no speed limit zone or a race track.
@@luukvanoijen7082 lol i'm dutch too, can't wait to legally drive.
If you do practice hard braking don't forgot to check your brakes. They might over heat during practice or be worn down so they don't work properly

I think is an important thing to look before you go a track.

And tire pressure! ;)
Francisco Pereira You need to do that often and not only when driving on a track.
Now it makes sense why we turn the volume down when trying to look at road signs.😀
Holy shit... I do that too.
Epic Supercars so true. If you enter a foreign town, or need to do a complex maneuver, you'll aways mute the radio for added concentration.
Inspect your car before hitting the roads. I normally do this just in case. Also, I let my car warm up slowly before driving it hard.

Callyy F exactly and maybe even taking a roundabout with crazy speeds to find out when your car slips

Turtleswan thank you, finally someone who understands.
Focus RS is probably in more danger than the 96 Corolla... just doesn't have the HP or Torque to push that hard and most will know their car is a shitbox.

I learned to feel the brake by doing this with the car in neutral in a descent at night and then by stoping it at home. Now it feels almost natural to do it, and I can assure you, it is worth the time needed to learn

maxxjett films I mean other than trail raking these are just common sense, sit properly and don't drive when it's busy. It's hardly rocket science.
Ze Germanz true, let me rephrase.
a lot of common sense is lost on most drivers :(
Basically everything said in this video was said by my driving instructor.
This video isn't about driving fast, it's about driving in general...
Sabine Rifle if your instructor told you to cross your arms and NOT feed the wheel then you are going to fail your test instantly. Never cross your arms and always feed the wheel on your test.
Disco Stu
I think that depends where you're from.
I've only heard "feed the wheel" from this channel.
Serious question - is this nonsensical "feeding the wheel" technique taught anywhere outside UK? I have only ever seen it in UK videos.
panvlk
I've only seen that on english videos.
Done *properly*, it's a useful technique for tighter turns in normal, everyday driving and can be mixed with fixed grip steering and rotational (hand over hand) to cover any circumstance.
don't drive fast while raining.
hamada official actually driving on the rain is ny fave.
Except if you have Michelin pilot 4s tires. Then drive as fast as you want, there is almost no difference between dry or wet traction.
hamada official specially on a rwd, seen people try to burn out and end up in a ditch
hamada official as long as you get good tires you can drive really fast at any weather without problems ...
My additional tips from experience:
1- Don't hit the brakes too quick even if you have ABS.
Otherwise, stick to what he said
and there is also the fact that even pros mess up trailbraking from time to time
Accelerating downhill is tricky since it always requires a lot of power especially when over taking and might make you careless and end up with no braking distance if a corner appears ahead.
Practice is your everything
Do not be foolhardy in unknown road or track. Knowing the road is half the driving and much more enjoyable for any driver

In the U.S. years ago we were taught differently. Two things that have changed are these:
*Lower your hands*.
Now to execute a turn, your teen will be advised to 'push up' on one side of the wheel while 'pulling down' on the other.
keep your mental police scanner on edge.

7: know when to slow down and never take chances, i.e. don't drive faster than you can stop on the road visible to you.
Most people going fast enter bends too fast and still are slower. Fastest and safest on the road is 'slow in, fast out' of a corner.
I learnt this lesson the hard way....
Brake in, accelerate out. I've crashed a car partly thanks to lift off oversteer but I tell you what it made a better driver out of me.
For me it's brake just before the turn, hold the throttle at 50%-60% during the turn, smoothly go from 80% to 100% as the corner straightens out.
I mention this because although what you say is true, any person who takes your advice should not that accelerating to hard out of a corner, can make your car spin out if it is a RWD, or understeer and go straight off the road if it is FWD.
killnetic bane you have a point but really depends on the car as you say, can't give a full lesson in a yt comment ;)

Gj with the video, even after so many years :)
can't wait to see Phil move again
dont drink alchool
wait...adjustable bolsters are a thing? god I'm so poor....
Only on modern cars, that are high end.
3000gt's were so ahead of their time!!
So worth it that sounds sick!! All wheel steering? Holy shit
Hmm I never seem to slide in my leather bucket seats.
I AM Design Products i have an fk2, this dont need to be able to change the bolstering, they hold you as they are
0:57 "I can feel it coming in the air..."
HELL YES, I've been doing all of this since I first started driving....now I just need to get a car that can go fast....
And that is what you did next
Says the guy who owns a mustang
3 things that are very important and forgotten is. 1 KNOW YOUR CAR like brakes behaving in corner feel.. 2 DONT GO 2 FAST IN TO THE CORNER AND LIFT TRHOTTLE CAUSE YOU WILL CRASH AND MISS EXIT SPEED. brake late till car is setteled and be fast at the exit. 3 BE SMOOTH steering dont do jerking steering that will unsettle the car.
ThaDutchDK1989 2 if you get small or low weight car... with a a6 corners are no problems
Keep space with the car in front of you especially at high speed. I've had some close calls because of because suddenly slowing down
Those are mighty good tips ...

As Opposed To The Dumbass Drivers In Atlanta Im Inclined To Go Up There
Most important thing you forgot is "Pull instead of push" when turning the steering wheel. This way you feel exactly what the front tires are going threw.😉 It could be kinda hard and unnatural at first, but makes a huuge difference in car feel.
so much this.
Great point. I instinctively do this when Im moving fast down winding roads or turns and such. And you're right- the amount of control is so much better. I just don't know where I learned it (no one ever taught me that.)
hmmm, never thought about that, gonna give it a try!
Agree with you, Apple, pulling is better than pushing the steer, but, for the last part,
I thought it actually more natural to pull instead of push, except the driver is a boxer. :)
Don't put others in danger or kill them. drive safe.
gavin simpson-alle not if you’re a decent driver who knows what he’s doing
3:45 I was more worried about that E46 than the performance car, god I love old beemers so much
Thank you for making this video, I saw this when I first got my car and it probably saved my life a few times. On bikes too!
INSERT NAMEHERE fwd cars understeer not oversteer because of the weight of the engine over the driven wheels

My tips:
1: *Listen To Eurobeat*
2: *Listen To Eurobeat*
3: *Listen To Eurobeat*
4: *Listen To Eurobeat*
5: *Listen To Eurobeat*
I can confirm this. Eurobeat always makes you 86% faster.
If I like don't even look at the time while driving with Eurobeat i suddenly achieve Fujiwara's Zone.

yeah and i end up in a ditch
I think you forgot to add *Listen To Eurobeat* to the list it always helps
I think I never had both hands on the steering wheel... I have the habit of only driving with my right hand.
Then again, I got a Kei car...
lol mete aço nisso xD
Also, another tip, behind the rear tires, there is a switch that enables the W16 veyron engine
Jan Siep that's what I said
1:40 Jaguar STILL uses FORD foot pedals lol
You know what they say if it ain't broke...
Most of those tips are like "if you´re thirsty, just drink something"
yeah, seems obvious, I agree, but remember some people can't even aim at the hole in the toilet...
What a stupid thing to say.
you are puting your life at risk, the moment you get out of bed in the morning.
I'm trying to say just have common sense about it. A 55mph object that weighs over 2000 lbs has the potential to be more dangerous than waking up. I often drive just for the fun of it, but I'm just saying be reasonable about what you're doing on the road. That's all.
sometimes even getting in to bed at night could kill you
Jacob F. When you wake up everyday you also put your life at risk
SPEED IS KEY!!!!!
Well top of the morning to ya laddies
Comment level : like a boss
WAPEESH WAPEESH
Key to the heaven. Hah
Always run a test on the surface before carving corners, run the road/area with a "pacing" lap to get a feel for the speed on straits and through corners before actually driving in a spirited manner.
*eurobeat dies out*
Mortal Kryptek well.........
3:02 can someone explain this a bit better? Surely if you're coasting all the way from the start to end of the corner, you're weight distribution will be constant throughout?
And if you're using throttle through the corner, you'll risk over/understeer
Similarly if you brake through a bend, there's a good chance you could spin out
Gaz J In a turn, tyres generate drag.
Sunday mornings around 5 a.m is the best time to own a car.
Such a good video. Specially the part about seating positions and keep the car under load.
"Keep your hand _off_ the gear shift unless you're actually making a gear change - then immediately put it back on the steering wheel." Too may people seem to think they can't move their hand back to the shifter fast enough for the next change.
aussiebloke609 not always true, for example if you are going from 1st to 2nd with wheelspin
Like I said, unless you're actually making a change. But once you make that change, if you get wheel spin, then you definitely should have both hands on the steering wheel, so you can maintain control when the rear steps out of line. Leaving one hand on the shifter just means you only have one hand to steer with while the car is getting sideways - and it increases wear on the gearbox, particularly the selector forks.
aussiebloke609 that is also true, i was sort of thinking more if your car has extremely short gear ratios
aussiebloke609 but domnic toretto puts his hand on the gear shift like its a hand rest
I've got one: just *don't* drive fast when the road conditions are poor, especially in ice.
I find that using the friction of the turn to slow your car down as you progressively steer into it is a good way to get your max speed safely. Obviously you can turn late but progressive movement is always safest. Learning how to give your car a hair of throttle is good for slow and fast driving.
One's rights end where other people's right begin....respecting that we are all safe!
Good video!!
Do not race your car in night on open roads, because you might hit a deer!
oh dear. *pun intended*
actually that is exactly when you need to be moving as fast as possible.
if you hit a deer and it survives and gets away your insurance won't cover the damage and trying to dodge it can and most likelly will lead to a crash taht is much worse than just road killing the deer fuull force.
also (trust me) runing over a deer slowly enough for it to be fataly wounded but still alive is no fun.
so your best course of action in the event of a deer is to hit it with as much force as possible ideally you should make sure that it's dead before it hits the ground.
then slowly decelerate and stop, call the cops, and secure the site of the crash.
You sure are the deer killer, huh?
I find it safer to drive at night because you can see other vehicle's head lights when they're coming around corners.
Bingo, we have a winner. The only two situations where driving at night is more dangerous would be driving in an unknown area, or finding somebody with their lights off (highly unlikely).
