At least you figured it out at 27 that it's not a good thing to lose your sense of self in a relationship, it takes most us until our 40s to realize that. As a bi woman who's not in to romantic relationships, it's been weird looking in on yall from the outside. I think so many people start dating (or focusing on it) young, and they never give themselves a chance to know what it's like to live as your own person first/develop as an adult. It doesn't help that society sees being in a relationship as the default and/or end goal in life. I've heard so many people say the "what do I do now??", and it's so confusing to me. Do the things you like to do? Hang out with friends? Work? Swim, put a puzzle together, play videogames, whatever....just by yourself. Maybe it's easier for me to say that when I don't have the same feelings for people, but I still think I'm right. I also think people don't talk enough about how toxic it can be having any relationship (romantic or sexual) as a lgbt person, especially if you're from a smaller/more conservative area. Inappropriate relationships with people too old for us at a young age. The scarcity in number of people available makes people think they can act whatever way they want too. Avoiding relationships due to scarcity of partners or being afraid/not being out, to the point where you don't know what's right or wrong in a relationship or how to have one. As a side note....something I remember hearing once was that: 1. Being abused/wronged by your parents can make the wrong people attracted to you. 2. Once you're in a relationship with an abusive or shitty person, that makes people like that attracted to you. And to be honest, it's been true for me and I believe it. Supposedly it changes our confidence, how we act, and how we present ourselves to others. The next time you feel ready to let people in to your heart, maybe keep this in mind or look in to it? Sorry for writing so much and it being rant like, but once I start typing I type entirely too much lol.

tbh im glad for this video,i have a fwb (friends with benefits) and im realizing i’m not ready for any type of relationship because i go through phases of not being attracted to whoever i’m with or just people in general and then loving them all over again and i need to work on being alone and loving myself.i mostly crave physical affection but there’s ways to get that without a relationship like my friends have said they would gladly cuddle me in a platonic friendly way,i have pets,i can spend my time at animal shelters since i plan to be a veterinarian,but i also need to find out how to fill in those gaps on my own.
