@@PardonSylver Do you know how good you have to be to play in a professional orchestra? The demands are so high! I'm completely shocked that anyone thinks that playing what Lindsey Stirling does is more difficult than anything that is played in an orchestra. Let her play one excerpt. Just one. Hint; you have to be able to play without a backing track, without reverb and actually going above the third position. You really don't know ANYTHING about violin playing do you?
@@alexandrabrorsson1265 I play violin, I'm only pointing out the difference in what Lindsey does and what an orchestra player does. Both require skill that takes practice and discipline to nail down. I use the phrase "that's your problem" to point out that they were comparing two different things as though they were equal. Yes, an orchestra is demanding, but to say that what Lindsey does is impossible all because you were taught differently only shows a closed minded attitude that rejects anything outside of your training as pointless, wrong, and if anyone does it, no they actually can't. And let's be honest, to use "as an orchestra player" to justify your opinion on a matter you view negatively is already a red flag because orchestra is as elitist to music as ballet is to dance.
As a musician and sound recordist I can tell she is playing the violin live in this clip. I think people are not so much envious as they are surprised that this can be done. I play four instruments well, and I can't believe how someone can play violin and make it sound good standing still let alone prancing all over the stage..
You can tell she’s playing it live. As a violinist, you can hear the occasional and quick instances where her bow stutters during a jump/spin. You can hear it happen when she lands. It’s quick and very well hidden but it does happen
Maybe I don't know violin well enough. I can't detect anything wrong. It looks real to me. I have worked for more than a few local bands on set up. I can't see or hear anything that makes it seem fake to me. It is not easy to sync up to a track and pretend to play while dancing. That is probably harder to do, than play live.

One thing to keep in mind is that this would be nearly impossible for any sort of wind instrument as you have to keep your breathing regular to keep a consistent sound. For this all you need to do is keep the instrument relatively level and only do motions that wont make you stumble or trip so you can keep the sound quality good. You can see shes keeping the violin pretty steady despite all the movment
Never doubted her, having experienced a real fiddler at a folk dancing class . Violin is an ideal instriment to play when dancing as it's lightweight and just requires moving your arms precisely to the music, making it part of the dance move .
As long as you keep your posture (which is a big problem for a lot of violinists) and you keep your bow on the strings, you can absolutely do dramatic movements. I was in a group in high school and we did choreography while we played. Granted, it wasn't as complex as this by any means, but the point still stands. Are there nights where there might be playback? Probably. But that's 99% of touring musicians. Touring is difficult, especially when you're playing instruments. Your hands get tired, your arms get tired, and you can lose focus at times and go on autopilot. People need to get a life.
It's alright girl, people speak shit of things that they aren't able to do. Jealous people can't take those things. Go above and beyond for your goals🕊

If you watch the bow and her fingers, it sure looks real. You dont hear mistakes and you don't see them. She probably has many thousands of hours doing this. Their are plenty of rock stars that play guitar and jump around. Ian Anderson when younger was very mobile while playing flute. It can be done. I can't do it, but it can be done. It would be harder to dance and sync up to a track while fake playing. That would be way harder. You would have to be perfect to sync properly to a track. I'm a musician since like 25 years at this point, I've seen her live and there were enough minor errors between the sheer brilliance that everything else was to see she was playing it live while dancing.
I noticed one the comments saying their in orchestra so they know she's faking it. I play violin, and I can definitely tell you with certainty she's playing live. I listen to her music enough to be able to tell the difference. Anyone who's good at the violin should be able to tell this, since you can hear some scratching. It's just not messy enough for an inexperienced person to hear.
Right?! Like i can for sure hear when she changes her bow and the rawness of it. Her talent is the result of a crap tone of practice. Nice to see a fellow violinist!
i also play violin and she is certainly playing live because if it was prerecorded, then it would be harder for her to play because you can’t hold a bow up and pretend you’re playing at the same time. it’s not possible. i love you lindsey and keep ur you amazing work! ❤️❤️
@@Kacie_softballgirl16-sd5hy Very true! Air bowing is extremely sloppy and you'd immediately know unless she used an electric with the volume off but still you'd probably hear that and she still uses an acoustic with a mic! So it's just not possible for her to fake it!
People don’t truly understand how good of a violinist she is. She used to go on camping trips with her family, and bring her instrument with her just to practice. She devoted herself to the instrument and becoming great, and that’s truly what she is. As a violinist myself, I truly look up to her and her music. People need to understand how truly skilled she is ❤
You are truly amazing, Lindsey. I saw you on American Idol. I must say that I’m so glad you didn’t get to move forward. It spurred you into doing better, learning and growing. And you are so fricking talented that people think you’re just vi-syncing! ❤❤❤
As someone who’s both played violin and danced for years, and is still a performer, I can tell you how I know it’s life: her left side. It’s sooooo stable. And her core is stable. Her left shoulder and elbow stay super still when she is dancing (in her music videos or standing still she is a little more free). Watch her shoulder blades. She has phenomenal control and that allows her to move and since while maintaining enough stability to play. That and a lot, a lot, A LOT of practice.
Honestly, her talent is exceptional and she exhibits great professionalism. She shouldn't pay attention to those who criticize her out of envy. When someone excels at something they love, there will always be people who find faults because they can't replicate the same success.
she's so good and no it's not fake, I've been watching her back 8 years ago, I was surprised when she wanted to come to Denmark and play, she's really good and requires a lot of experience
Lol even as a bass guitar player I can tell that is her actually performing and all these hate comments are just people with no skill and haven’t practiced enough
This is so funny to me. I have played violin for over 20 years- there is no way to fake playing violin. At least no good way. Think about it , when someone plays piano in a movie you see the close up of the hands and the profile shot. But with violin , there’s no way to angle the shot it’s just all exposed. In order to convincingly fake play violin your fingers would have to play the piece so the notes line up with where they are supposed to be on the fingerboard. Her bow would also have to move in the same way. Trust me, slurred and separated notes sound different. Even moving the bow up and down sounds different. So in order for Lindsey to believably fake play violin, she would need to actually play violin, but not let the bow touch the strings! It’s so much harder! Also I’ve never danced while playing; but i do walk around a room a lot while practicing. It is absolutely possible to move around and play- it just takes much more control. The highest respect to Lindsay 🎉❤️
She obviously does play, however I was watching a video by twosetviolin, and the person they were commenting on got caught saying you can put oil on the bow to make it silent. Which also explained the poor bow placement of the person because the oil makes it harder to keep a contact point. Interesting.
I saw her during her first Europe tour. Don’t get me wrong, she was still amazing, but you could easily hear it was live so to speak. I get the comments, but seeing Lindsey evolve her talent throughout the years are the reason I never think of playback. Lindsey’s talent is only surpassed by her drive to better her skills.
She is doing it the best way possible. First, she got 'engagement' (internet points) on her video from them, algorithms don't care if comments are good or bad. Secondly, she has milked more content out of them. Good job.
I saw her at a park concert in Anderson California when she was touring with some country band a long time ago. And I was about 20ft away from her while she danced and played live. She's actually doing it.
ur supposed to use ur arm for string crossings but not in the way that shes spinning and doing weird movements. Your point just doesnt make sense. If dancing really did actually help substantially with playing I think it would be utilised lol
@@WSH3TMpro violinist here, I do that to a small extent when stage playing or recording. Moving the instrument around can be very helpful, especially in swaying motions
Ive seen her a couple times live. She is incredible. And its bc of this work she puts in. Americas got talent told her she couldnt make it. She took that personal. Phenomenal artist, even better performer, even greater human. She deserves it all.
Piers Morgan as I remembered told her she was boring and repetitive. and wouldn't make it because her violin skills weren't great. basically said she was a niche act He is and was a pompous ass.
As an orchestra child, I can see the bow being in sync with the notes, a clear sign that it is live music and most likely not pre recorded, Also, sometimes moving around while playing just helps with nerves, like in fiddling I shift around a little during solos, while in orchestra I might tap my toe in my shoe to keep my mind off the actual playing, not to mention, she sounds really really good and just has the skill to dance and play!
It's even funnier because Lindsey actually made mistakes quite often when playing live. So you need to really understand nothing in music to think it's prerecorded

RIGHT?? "As an orchestra player" Ma'am that's your problem! You sit in a chair and play, you've never tried this let alone practiced enough to do it!
E\/\/
Well that’s actually a big compliment on how flawless your shows are :)
underrated comment
You're exactly right! She just needs to smile sweetly and say, "aw, thank you!" at the naysayers. And then flip 'em a bird as she prances away 😊
I think she's an absolutely amazing violinist. I love what she does and I'm sure she's phenomenal in concert.
Una auténtica diosa.lo tiene tiene todo.profesionalidad, arte ,talento y belleza...una diosa
Just saw her in Louisville ky. Fantastic show, and she was 100% playing.
As a musician and sound recordist I can tell she is playing the violin live in this clip. I think people are not so much envious as they are surprised that this can be done. I play four instruments well, and I can't believe how someone can play violin and make it sound good standing still let alone prancing all over the stage..
How many times have you watched this? Me: Yes
I absolutely love Lindsey Stirling. Her music is incredible and really got me into violin pieces (although I don’t play, myself). Such talent ✨
I agree 100%! I went to her concert on August fifteenth 2023 And she was amazing . I dont think she understands how fabulous she is! She's phenominal I cant even explain it!! ❤🎉😊
This is a woman who's put her heart and soul into her work yeah she is real and her talents are too
The hate in those comments is so unbelieveble... I saw her live, there is no doubt its live and not recorded..
OMG I LOVE LINDSEY! I’ve used her music for my floor music for four years now and I plan to use it again for all my floor routines in the future!
I have seen her live multiple times! She plays live and they were all great shows.
Some people need to just realise that talent can go to EXTREMES sometimes, and accept it. Talent isn’t only and always just singing, dancing, playing an instrument/sport or art etc. it can be things they may have never comprehended. Like this woman right here, with an amazing talent that came with tons of practice❤️
Talent is God given. She may have gotten her skills from hard work, though.

Never doubt the Stirling!
Everyone is an expert on the internet. They think that because they can't do it. No one can. My grandmother, rest in peace, used to call them "smart idiots."
I think the main problem is that we have developed serious trust issues when it comes to anything social media related.
She plays electric violin so let's get that straight first.
@@a.m.9115 OMG! This whole time I thought it was an acoustic carrot. 🤣
@@mohadogamer well when a bunch a people say what a talented violinist she is, I question everyone's knowledge. I guess you proved my point! As long as you didn't think she was playing violin!
@@a.m.9115 naw. Quite the other way around. You proved my point. I'm from Arizona. I've seen her play live. You are one of the internet smart idiots my grandma was talking about.
I play violin and I have to say to me it looks like she’s playing and it’s incredible how steady she can keep the bow
GIRL! ALL OF THAT PRACTICE GIVEN TO THIS. YOU SOUND GORGEOUS ❤️❤️
No classical musicians use playback, ever. Unless it is some wannabe on UA-cam shorts.
Beautiful, fabulous, skillful, entertaining, simply awesome. Since the first time I’ve seen Lindsey Serling, she has always impressed me.
It's alright girl, people speak shit of things that they aren't able to do. Jealous people can't take those things.
Go above and beyond for your goals🕊
I’ve seent her live. Was not sure what to expect, but when you realize what she is doing is live, it’s spectacular.
Witnessed her in concert last night in Grand Rapids and I am Mind Blown!! She most absolutely Does Play and Dance AND Sing!! I was brought to tears more than once! I'm forever moved by this entire concert!
Same here she is amazing
True! I saw her a day before you in Fort Wayne IN , and she truly was playing. I'm a violinist too, so I was studying her movements. I couldn't help but be impressed - it was truly great!
I just feel like Christmas when I hear her play !!! Maybe it’s odd but I just love it !!! Thanks for making me smile !!! 😀🇨🇦
I think some people forget that people actually put effort to to achieve something great. This is true talent, mate and no matter what they say, you know that you have put the work in to reach this level
She just has so much talent ok??
No matter what you do in life, someone somewhere will always hate you for it. They have no influence in your life, so just keep moving forward and being the best version of yourself..
If someone expresses criticism, it takes a childish mentally to call that hate. I don’t think anyone has mentioned or implied hatred here.
@@kenthomson9562 So you're illiterate, got it
@kenthomson9562 That's not criticism. That was straight-up accusing.
This little Angel, works VERY hard and designs her own costumes too. Lindsey PROVES Simon Cowell is WRONG, every single day. Clearly, Lindsey has moved on, and has DONE VERY WELL.
@@kenthomson9562🤚 meeeee, I'm haaaating. And not because I think she's not actually playing. No, I KNOW she's playing because she sounds so horrible. And I can't wrap my head around why would that sound be desired in any way. I get that it's a performance, but I don't get the appeal of someone absolutely butchering the only thing that matters for the sake of some cheesy dance moves
That might be impossible to do for a full show. You would notice that.
What an elegant way to debunk the haters. No words needed!

bro she is a real violin player! She Letterly has so many music videos and also don't judge a book by its cover y'all!!
EXACTLY lol!
Agreed. The tone feels less produced in the video and it def sounds live.
People don’t truly understand how good of a violinist she is. She used to go on camping trips with her family, and bring her instrument with her just to practice. She devoted herself to the instrument and becoming great, and that’s truly what she is. As a violinist myself,
I truly look up to her and her music.
I love her style and work
she's so good and no it's not fake, I've been watching her back 8 years ago, I was surprised when she wanted to come to Denmark and play, she's really good and requires a lot of experience
She’s amazing at what she does, don’t listen to the haters. Ever!
Exactly
I totally agree with you: she's amazing at scamming people.

I get the comments, but seeing Lindsey evolve her talent throughout the years are the reason I never think of playback.
Lindsey’s talent is only surpassed by her drive to better her skills.
She really does play the Violin,It is not prerecorded.if you’ve ever been to her performance she knows how to put on a show.
They really need to look up how she started before getting famous. She has mad skills!
Lindsay, don't let it bother you. They don't know what they're talking about and have never seen you live. I do and it's truly stunning.
She is doing it the best way possible. First, she got 'engagement' (internet points) on her video from them, algorithms don't care if comments are good or bad. Secondly, she has milked more content out of them. Good job.
Jealousy will get you know where. She is nothing short of amazing.
She is so talented and gorgeous
I saw her at a park concert in Anderson California when she was touring with some country band a long time ago. And I was about 20ft away from her while she danced and played live. She's actually doing it.
Well “shatter me” she’s always been top notch!
She's an amazing violinist and I love her choreography to her music!! 🎵🎶
As a violinist moving around is indeed a little bit harder but sometimes it helps us switch strings ❤❤❤❤
ur supposed to use ur arm for string crossings but not in the way that shes spinning and doing weird movements. Your point just doesnt make sense. If dancing really did actually help substantially with playing I think it would be utilised lol
@@WSH3TMpro violinist here, I do that to a small extent when stage playing or recording. Moving the instrument around can be very helpful, especially in swaying motions
@@skyfalcon9955how many years have you been playing? Just curious, in a violinist aswell.
It’s amazing what a violinist needs to do now days to make it in the industry.
I wish I do this with my instrument 😭
Her and that girl from Celtic Woman doing this is amazing.
It’s amazing what you can do with practice and patience…she’s been doing it for years and just gets better and better❤
Those who doubt her would rather go to concerts featuring lip-syncing, Autotuned "performers." As opposed to actual musicians.
Her dancing is mesmerizing
As an orchestra child, I can see the bow being in sync with the notes, a clear sign that it is live music and most likely not pre recorded, Also, sometimes moving around while playing just helps with nerves, like in fiddling I shift around a little during solos, while in orchestra I might tap my toe in my shoe to keep my mind off the actual playing, not to mention, she sounds really really good and just has the skill to dance and play!
All those bad comments can resumed in one word....JEALOUSY
It's even funnier because Lindsey actually made mistakes quite often when playing live. So you need to really understand nothing in music to think it's prerecorded
Amazingly talented 🤩
I love how talented she is and she’s getting hate comments because people can’t do what she does so that’s why they make fun of her although I do feel bad for her because she deserves better🫶
Not only would I love to attend one of her concerts, I would love to meet her just to thank her in person.
