My wife and I were CRYING watching this. We spent 2 years living in Oregon and have had similar "there's a mystery but we won't be the ones solving it" experiences. Also thank you for the homo scale, we will be using this to grade everything for the rest of our lives.
I just watched the stream vod and hoo boy. This is so much more with that context. I can't get past the open unfinished ceiling with loose wires behind Morgan in the reception.
That strawberry beret that your mom held up at 8:15 -- That was done by a local Portland artist called Clammy Heart (they have an online store with that name), and they do a lot of really cute handmade berets! It's cool to see their stuff being sold in stores 😁
I experienced this feeling in Ferndale, CA. They’re best known for this HUGE historical graveyard and their number of Victorian homes, and my family visited while on a road trip to Washington. Their Main Street had a bunch of confusing businesses, and the whole town felt like there was a dark secret everyone carried with them. I DEFINITELY recommend it as a road trip stop though, that shit’s wild.
Love your content! As someone who grew up in Southwest Washington it is surreal to see you visit Long Beach and see it through your eyes. I've spent many hot summer days at the beach there and my mom loved go carts. We mostly did day trips there. Other popular spots were Cannon Beach or Seaside OR. I think they are less creepy vibes. I don't know of many places that have air conditioning on the Pacific coast. But hopefully you can find some in your future adventures.
Long Beach is just like that. 😂 my dads family had a house there when he was growing up so he will drag me around showing me weird shit there whenever we visit. It’s got some very odd vibes
Every time I see morg in the Recycled shirt it makes me happy sad because it’s super cool that y’all were here and got to see one of my favorite places! But sad I didn’t get to meet y’all!
I'm so surprised at how bad the hotel stay was! I won't mention the name, but I did stay at a diff location of theirs in Jan. It was also such a mixed bag of emotions. I really thought it was just bad luck on my part, but now I'm wondering if they're just not as great as I believed based on another creators reviews lol It was pretty cute, but so unprofessional feeling, and was clearly unclean. (I even found blue hairs in my shower when I have black hair, my mom is grey, and her husband is bald 💀) I hope yall get a vacation with way better vibes next time! 💕
I'm so terrified now. 😅 My spouse and my toddler and I are booked, I'm pretty sure, at that hotel this Summer 🫣 I'm really sorry that you had this experience with Long Beach. It was a place I loved in the summers as a kid.
One of the kites I made 20 years ago as a kid is there at the kite museum!!! We're going for the international kite festival this year because I wanted to share that experience with my spouse and little, though thanks to you I'm looking for a different place to stay!
Oh my goodness, every minute of this video was just a new wild story I could not have been prepared for 🤣. At least the kite museum and restaurant at the end were fun lol.
This was a RIDE 😂 I will say Long Beach attracts a large military crowd (I live in Kitsap) so it’s very likely you were surrounded by that element. But also it’s genuinely an odd place.
As someone who grew up in a small beach town in Washington the while time ya'll were talking I was like haha yup sounds exactly right. It's weird out here. One time on a bus this man was just skinning a fish he caught. Everyone was like okay this is fine
And yeah its really common for small towns in Washington to not have AC we never used to need it and now the heat is way worse and air conditioning is expensive and these are poor towns. I would recommend looking into AC if you're staying at any beach town in WA, Forks, Westport, Ocean shores, really any town in Western WA is likely to have problems with AC so it's good for people to see this so they can know how common it is for places to not have any air conditioning. I work at a grocery store in seattle now and last summer the heat wave broke our AC and we lost so much food. Entire shelves worth of food lost and a neighborhood that now cant even go to the grocery store to cool off or go to a drinking fountain and get some cold water. It's honestly a serious issue here we just don't have the systems in place for this hot weather and it kills people especially poor and disabled people.
Hey goofs! Can you sometime give recommendations for artists to do commissioned portraits like the ones you have? I loooove your gallery wall and so I want to know the artists you used! Or if you have any tips for finding great artists to support? Either way would be great. Love the video!
Absolutely!!! All these folks are on instagram: @the_plant_child has commissions open in their link in their bio, @artby.hay has commissions open I believe by instagram dms!
I haven’t stayed in that hotel, but my family and I would spend spring break in Longbeach WA when I was a kid, so seeing you there is such a trip 😂 it’s definitely got that small rural town feel - like a liminal space. I haven’t been there since being out as non-binary, but from I remember, it’s a very cis-het white community, with a mix of conservative and liberal people…so maybe somewhere between homo-neutral and homo-negative 😂
The town that I grew up in named themselves the "crepe myrtle capital of the world" and I'm pretty sure they just decided to call themselves that bc there really wasn't a lot of crepe myrtles before that.
Omg it feels like they ripped out a nice hotel room and replaced everything with the cheapest things possible. Like the wood on the wall is probably from a broken AC unit they took out. The bedside lights on the walls are literally the cheapest components you can possibly use to make a light. That light socket is usually used in attics and basements. Also I have a disability that requires AC. The bed and night stand look horribly made from recycled wood. And I have no problem with recycled wood, but they didn't know how to use it. This is cringe. If I had booked there, I'd go to another hotel down the road and dispute the charge on my credit card. 😂
Ohh so much creepies 😳 I would’ve checked out of that room bc of no a/c for what it cost. Plus, it looks like a middle schoolers wood shop project. 🫠 bless your brave souls for staying 😂

“In case your beach stops working?” is SENDING ME
This trip was hysterical and so relatable. It’s such a needed complement to all the insta-perfect influencer trips on UA-cam 😂
What an absolutely bonkers hotel experience! 👀 it was fun to watch y’all explore and I always love when you’re antiquing! 💖

the spooky wind REALLY sold the weird vibes of this weekend for me. so fucking strange

I live just north of Ferndale and I do not understand how it is a town 😂
I have family from Ferndale who used to be dairy farmers and I can confirm it’s one of the weirdest towns I’ve ever been to!
I cannot BELIEVE they charge $250 for a room that small, with no ac, and looks like someone's craft project. That is so wild to me.

OMG the hotel room tour was a “chefs kiss” !!!! Lololol
I am obsessed with the strawberry themed shop. When I was little we called them strumbunnies.

I made reservations elsewhere! Omg thank you. My toddler would literally eat that hotel, like with her chompy mouth. AAA I want to build you a kite!
I found yall on tiktok and you guys are SO CUTE I LOVE YOU
Here for the second telling of this sordid tale
The difference in Felix’s voice is so obvious just a year back, amazing to see their progress in real time ❤
I haven't even watched this yet but oh my lord I am so ready for the TEA on this unhinged hotel room
it sounds like you visited a sundown town based on the sign you described
Stoppppp😝 the kite flying clips had me laughing so hard 🤣😭

My aunt has a house up in Long Beach that we stay at sometimes in the summer and I can confirm that the vibe there is… quite something😵💫
In a town about 15 minutes from where I grew up, it’s called the carpet capital of the world lol
Some places in Colorado have given me the same vibes. Maybe a fake town vibe 😂
that antique mall looked promising to me🤣like the more broke down looking it is the better the finds
This whole situation is wild, y’all!
🎶What a bear, what a bear, what a bear, what a really cute bearrrrrrrrr🎶

Not the burning beach hike

It takes 2 years for blueberries to really bloom typically. Also want to encourage pollinators or the blueberries won't be sweet at all. :)

Hobo Junction Inc I’m crying
BLOCK OF WOOD ON WALL VISUALS
Oh my gosh I wouldn't pay $50 for that hotel. And they're trying to make it a vibe? No. NOT A VIBE.
The place looks like a money laundering haven, real estate places everywhere
The World Untreated Loose Cord Hotel
