Actually this one has been sold awhile ago. He just finished restoring another one that I do believe is a diesel. I just saw a picture of this tractor last week on FaceBook. It is a beauty! This spring I bought a real nice one from him myself. I Give him a call.

You would be less amazed and understand if you quit your job and went into farming John D. This fall marks the 1st year since 2008 I have seen a "Farm Payment".

+eagerjeffrey : I'm curious what Dan actually sold this gas 730 Deere tractor for? Was the tractor just "restored" (cleaned up, painted, various new bolt-on items, new tires, etc.) or was it fully overhauled and rebuilt/remanufactured from the ground up? It makes a big difference in what they are worth IMHO.

Its amazing to me that farmers today STILL get massive tax breaks from the whining they did in the early 1980's. They have retired and STILL have tax breaks on the property they own! This is true in OHIO anyway.

+John D : As they should. Why don't you try owning as much land as is required to farm profitably, and then you'll understand why tax breaks for farmers are necessary. Not to mention, most farmers sure aren't getting rich. Most of the farmers in my area are forced to rent or lease any additional farm land that they need to grow/expand in my area (upstate New York), because land prices alone have become so ridiculously high. Want your food prices to continue to sky-rocket? Go ahead and start making noise about the tax breaks. You will be the one that pays for it in the end with much higher food and feed prices. Hmm, I bet you didn't think about that, now did ya?

also, farming is extremely hard. They deserve a tax break.
